16th — 22nd November. Topped at 4th node on Day 12 my earliest topping yet. She seems to have a nice pliable structure.

23—28th Nov. Finally I'm back on top of everything again. Did some thinning staking and a bit of light defoliation and maybe some pruning too. She's also liking my higher pH regime.

She began 11 days behind Moby Dick but now they look very similar in development. It was time to give them both a shave and a haircut. Found a moth had laid eggs in Shizzle so there was a bit of panic for a moment but all seems well now. I've gone back to topping at the 4th node and trying a single plant and now that I have I realise the benefit of putting two plants in the same pot but having less branches on both, if probably easier to manage. But I'll see how she goes to the end. It's been baking hot but all plants including seedlings are doing well, so there's another myth debunked. Also the new regime of 6.3 instead of 5.8 is way better.

plenty of aggressive defoliation this week, she's now a fair bit bigger than Moby Dick XXL even though she's a week and a half behind. She's also begun to flower. She is very branchy but she seems easier to tend than Moby Dick. Temperature are about 32 during the day, none of the plants are showing any stress.

@Freddd, Thanks for the advice. I'll keep my eye out for the flairform indicator liquid.

@stunflower, you know I've always made a big deal of not using cal/mag because I don't think it's necessary in hydro seeing as it's already in the nutes and so many things get blamed on it. For a year I was running around 5.8 pH and let it drift a bit. Everything was good except for the occasional sort of weird rust on leaves like you see on your current plant. You can see that also on my previous Moby Dick. I wondered about this for a long time. Now that I've started keeping the pH closer to 6.3 you can see on my current Moby Dick that there is none of that at all. I would suggest you not use a pH meter at all and just use the flairform indicator liquid. It's far more *practically* accurate. You'll find that a nice pale yellow is 6, a bit warmer than pale yellow is 5.7, a bit greener than pale yellow is 6.3 The thing is if you check the solution one day and find suddenly one tub is unexpectedly low pH with a meter then the first thought is to check the accuracy of the meter because well you know why. But when that happened to me last week where quite unexpectedly I got a very warm indicator reading, I know it's right and adjust it confidently.

@Freddd, Good stuff. I'm following the same nute regiment plus cal-mag. Just found out my PH has been running much lower than my meter was indicating and one plant has been suffering a bit as a result. Ugh. Replaced the meter and back on track. Good luck with the rest of your grow - I'll follow along!

it's very interesting to watch your diary. I wish you a huge harvest of buds. What do you prefer to use a Bong or a joint. 4-20 Bro. subscribed and watching your grow.👍

@EZgrower, thanks EZ, anyone who really loves their plants will be rewarded over time! I got a vape because the gf doesn't like smoke everywhere. Since I've had the Vapexhale Cloud Evo, I could never go back to combustion. After a heavy session with the EVO, the room smells perfumed instead of smokey. When I smoke a joint I have to spit out the acrid smoke taste regularly.
