Organic No Till water only for seedling stage... 10 gallon fabric pots in 3 hours direct sunlight. Got some very hot days ahead, around 42°C so they'll be coming inside on those very hot days. Will remove humidity dome about 7 days after sprouting. Will move to full sun in about 2 weeks.

Extremely hot and dry weather this week. There are several bushfires close by, which has caused an extreme smoke haze that has covered the city for last w weeks. 3 days with temps at 40°C and over 35°C for the rest with RH between 10-40%. Night temps are down to 15°C with about 65% RH. Using the humidity domes to maintain humidity levels in this extreme heat. 1 seedling hasn't sprouted yet, may have lost it due to excessive heat. Still water only...

Due to this consistent heat wave of temps above 38 degrees and local fires, plants are now temporarily indoors under 1x 260W LED quantum board with 18/6 light schedule. Watered once this week with compost tea and spritzed with water daily. One seedling was stunted with the heat, but is still looking somewhat healthy (about 2cm tall and minimal vertical growth), whilst the other is growing strong at 4cm tall. Cover crop is also coming along nicely.

Being an auto, what do you think the chances of the stunted baby turning around? Will it still yield ok or will it stay miniature throughout its cycle. Literally the vertical growth stopped after about an inch and it’s first leaves are tiny. The second set are just sprouting now.

It is definitely looking happier in it's new setup, but unfortunately I do not think it has the ability to become a big yielder. It's lifespan is pretty baked in, so you have optimistically a few weeks to grow it out. You could get it to the size where it will provide a small, good quality yield in that timeframe so there is still hope 🙂👍

The healthy plant is growing nicely at 8cm tall and a whole bunch of leaves starting to sprout. The stunted plant is still only 3cm tall and starting to sprout its 3rd set of leaves. The height hasn't grown much and will certainly be a low yielder, but I'll grow her out. These crazy bushfires so close has forced me to keep them indoors still, under LED which has helped stabilize a good environment. Temps are about 23-28 celsius with the swing from the aircon throughout these 40+ degree days with 5% RH outside. But maintaining about 50% inside. Watered with Compost tea this week. Will top dress and push down cover crop with next watering...

Plants are doing well. Without a par meter, i have been experimenting with the LED height. If i have the potentiometer turned up too high, the pants will end up drooping several hours before lights off because they've had too much light. Also now dealing with some fungus gnats and another tiny brown bug. Got some yellow sticky traps, ordered some neem oil and some nematodes. The local fires and outdoor temps are starting to ease off now, which makes controlling the environment much easier. Top dressed with ammendments and mulch, watered in with plain water.

Plants started to stretch this week. The healthy plant is now 22cm tall and is starting the show pistols. The stunted plant is now 8cm, not showing pistols yet, but I expect them sometime this week. Water only this week, which is still watering in the organic nutrient top dress from last week (using Organic Gardening Solutions compost tea mix). The fungus gnat problem is now under control with the introduction of Stratiolaelaps Scimitus predatory mites. You can see them in the closeup pics.

Plants growing strong. Watered with compost tea. Flowering has also started this week. The stunted plant is now 18cm compared to the healthy plant that is 30cm tall. It seems to have grown past the stunted start and is about a week behind. It started showing pistols this week, whilst the healthy plant has commenced flowering already.

The stunted plant is catching up fast (28cm) and the leaves are much bigger than the taller plant (38cm). Its still about a week behind in growth. Also the taller plant has purpling on its stems whereas the stunted plant does not. Plain water again this week, still watering once a week about 1.5-2 litres. Still have bushfires out of control close by and temps above 40 celsius during day and 25 at night. Keeping the room around 25-27 during day with 50% humidity and 23-25 at night with 40% RH. Buds are starting to form nicely, but no trichs yet or smell. If i was more prepared for the fires and extreme temps, probably would have added CO2 bag. This grow initially started outdoors and had to move indoors because of the obvious extremes.

Bud formation is coming along nicely, going to be a nice big cola. No real smell just yet, but its becoming stronger. I think they’re suffering a little Nitrogen toxicity, so hoping water only from this point on will balance itself out. Being all organic no till, no salts or chems used at all. Stunted plant catching up but still a week behind, yields will be close to same im predicting now. No visible trichomes to the eye, but magnified you can see the production starting.

Do you think they’re suffering with some nitrogen toxicity? If so, how do you recommend i fix or balance it out?... growing organic no till with water only and occasional compost tea. I top dressed 3 weeks ago with an organic dry amendment and think thats where I’ve over done it.

I don't think it is N toxicity. Usually all your leaves would be super dark green, and the very tips of the leaves would look like the are hanging down like a cat claw. Usually when leaves start curling up and flipping like that it means you have high temperatures and/or too much water. The leaves do that because they are working too hard to move water efficiently through the plant. If you have these issues in check though, then it is possible that there is some sort of root problem, but check these other things first.

Looks like im starting to get a little foxtailing... I’ve moved the light further away, now 40cm. Im wondering if this will affect its yield and quality or will it sort itself out? Still organic only. Watering plain water once a week with occasional molasses. I think there’s still about 2 weeks to go...
