Good story so far, this is a new one for Dutch Passion’s Blueberry! The genetics are: Afghani Indica x Thai Sativa x Oaxacan (Mexican) Sativa. This is actually from a run of seeds I germinated before a recent spree, and it took much longer to pop than the others. I have less than ideal winter conditions which I have been trying to tweak as I go so this was a huge factor I am sure. However, I trust Dutch Passion’s quality and was patient ... and it eventually emerged. But! The seed cap was severely stuck on, one of the more stubborn I’ve encountered. Thankfully I was quick to act and removed it, damaging the cotyledon leave in the process. No matter, it said! It seems to be growing despite everything. It was one of the more smaller seedlings I’ve seen. This is day 6. Germinated in a peat pod in a container with HP Pro Mix and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae. My lighting is a 300 watt actual draw full spectrum LED, with 1/6th of that again in a smaller 3D printed casing which is over the seedlings.

Day 13 for BlueBerry and things have been a struggle. It has been ultimately cold messing around with everything and dictating the health of my young plants. All my seedlings are rough, wilted or suffering pH. The basement floor and temp dips are lethal for the root zone. I have now diverted my basement furnace output directly into the tent and installed a secondary thermostat for consistency. Hopefully BlueBerry can rebound. I see noticeable improvement with some plants in one day, but will it be soon enough?

Day 20 from seed for BlueBerry. I think its a positive update. Getting consistent and warm heat has helped all my plants, this is obvious. I did overwater a bit this week, I was worried about humidity, but its still perky. This is a positive change from last weekend. It appears to have grown..... barely at all. Basically, it comes down to ‘will it be stunted,’ and I will eventually have to make the call. Come on Blueberry! 🤞🏻

Day 27 from seed for Blueberry. If this is your first time stopping by go back and read about my struggles to find consistent heat and warmth, now that has been rectified this seedling is trying so hard to come back. I am running out of patience and may change course soon, but for now ... After fixing the heat I had overwatered as stated last week, so I went all week without irrigating. The seedling was perky and happy. I did have to water yesterday, and it has a little droop again. There is green returning though as pictures reveal..

Day 34 from seed for BlueBerry. Say what? Its alive??? This is a pleasant surprise as I was sure it had kicked the bucket. Overwatering and underwater look sort of the same so certainly I was doing one of them. Eventually, I decided to feed a very dilute 18-18-21 Miracle Grow Tomato plant food with blackstrap molasses. It responded. Then I hit it with a less dilute, but more than usual, 24-8-16 Miracle Grow All Purpose with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). And now it is present. We have to see how the story ends now, don’t we?

Day 41 for Dutch Passion’s Blueberry. The comeback trail continues with Blueberry gaining some size and colour. Of all the struggling seedlings making a return, BlueBerry has taken the longest. It had already been one of the smaller seedlings amongst the numbers, not sure if thats the individual, strain, or what. I decided to transplant, to allow me to assess the roots and progression. Blueberry was the only one of this cohort that did not have visible roots so it will be awhile yet. Just water for the time being. My soil mix was primarily: 10 parts HP Pro Mix soil: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil, and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae.

Day 48 from seed for Blueberry. Since the transplant last week and seeing almost no root development, it has started to perk up and really get nice and green. Steady growth, this thing is going to make big strides. Just water and time and plenty of patience. I recently recruited a Blueberry clone from a friend, so all the pressure may not be on this one.

Day 55 from seed for Blueberry. Things are a rollin’ so I decided to transplant. My soil mix was 10 parts HP Pro Mix: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil. This plant has hit its stride and is starting to gain height quickly - I will consider LST. For now, just vegging with water. I actually received a clone of Blueberry as a gift, same provider but the mother was from a different seed.

Day 62 from seed for Blueberry. Sort of a mixed bag week, leaning towards a negative for my tent on whole. Temperatures have been up and down, and even though I have a furnace input, its tied to my upstairs and outside. It has been very inconsistent outdoors, and so on warm days my upstairs rarely triggers the tent. You can see this on the purple streaking on the stems across the plants. Those near the floor are especially cooler. It does have green and it is growing straight up, not forming any off branches it seems. I want to perform LST but at the immediate moment I don’t have room for that. I have to so some tent work today so I will try to find a better spot where I can tie the stem. Overall, I need to rotate some of plants to a spot more off the floor. Just water.

Day 69 from seed for BlueBerry. Okay, this one suffers from the overcrowding of the tent, you can laugh at all the diaries. When a larger more mature plant was still in the tent, this one grew up and stretched towards what light it could reach. It was a tall lanky single stalk, even longer than what you see in photos. It would be perfect for sea of green. It was nice and malleable and I wanted to perform LST, but I did not have room to repot, and I sort of wanted a larger container for it. Instead, I topped once. We will adjust as we go. As the tent clears I can repot and still consider LST later. Just water. This one is on the fringe of the group/light, and so I hope it can stay toasty. Sort of like the outer most penguin huddled together.

Day 76 from seed for Blueberry. Still coming along and just slowly growing straight up. I will admit this poor baby is always neglected. I noticed because I have been so overloaded the repotting has slowed, and the plants are running out of nutrients or running into imbalance. I also had to leave for vacation for 3-4 days this week and so I did not want to feed before leaving (lest I had to flush), so I just gave water and let it progress. Upon return I fed 18-18-21 Miracle Grow Tomato food, Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag), and Earth Alive Big Blue Wave. It will take time to absorb anything, and so before I can even assess if that helped or hurt I must wait. Next week may be even worse who know. I, for one, am not worried.

Day 82 since cloning Blueberry. Since feeding, it has absorbed the nutrients and starting to look healthy again. As its basically filled the container, I am throwing it into flower. I am shifting my methods to a more sea of green style anyway, and this one will give me a gauge of a smaller pot size. Hoping for a medium sized bud.

Day 90 from seed for BlueBerry. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks to go. Some stretch this week for this sea of green style clone. I will apply some plant food soon, in the next couple days. Nothing major to report which is a good thing. My flower tent is 6’ x 4’ and is hung mylar similar to my veg. tent. I have two 300 watt full spectrum LED lights, 96 watts of yellow LED bulbs to supplement that spectrum, and two 50 watt mixed spectrum LEDs pods. Because the latter are custom made I only have an approximation on the spectrum.

Day 97 for BlueBerry. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. I’m really liking the size of this plant for sea of green style. It can reach when surrounded my medium plants, but is a small plant itself. Blueberry got water today so it will take some time to dry out before more food. Things look good so far. My area got rain recently, and I’m flushing other flowering plants, so very high humidity.

Day 104 since BlueBerry was cloned. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks to go. Just chugging along and building bud sites. I fed plant food literally today, 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Rotated the tent positioning a bit.

Day 111 from seed. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. Minuscule itty bitty buds. I realize this is basically sea of green style, but its also of poor health. It likely was the poor health going in, which has been the bane of many of my current grows, or maybe my feed which I am realizing is likely way too strong with molasses, with iron. Not getting all that much smell. Not great, but I want to keep this journal up because I haven’t done Blueberry yet, otherwise I’d be tempted to stop keeping track. Last irrigation was water.

Day 118 from seed for BlueBerry. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. Looks like this will be a taste only grow. Tiny little buds hardly worth the diary. Bright, bright red branches show poor health. I’ve wasted a ton of time with this one, with the slow comeback, and then poor condition. I gave 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom today, with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Not getting much smell, a bit sweet maybe.

Day 125 from seed for Blueberry. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks remaining. Not a great entry. Sort of sea of green style, but just a failure. As I’ve stated, just keeping it going because I hadn’t done Blueberry yet. What I take from it is this strain is not forgiving to noobs. Most recent was water. I still have to decide if I’ll give food one last time leading to harvest.

Day 132 from seed for Blueberry. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. Just pitifully chugging along as described. I was reminiscing back to when the plant almost died and it took forever to come back, just to be a puny little thing. I get little whiffs of sweet sometimes, but generally its not strong. I dunno, I don’t like to judge when there have been problems. I fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) mid week, but now its water here on out into flushing. This will literally be a taster sample lol.

Day 139 for Blueberry. Eight weeks of flowering complete, one week to go. Lets end this thing! Not much in terms of yield or a sense of the strain. Generally, a failure. I will still flush until the end until I harvest the little nubs.

Day 144 for Blueberry. Nine weeks of flowering complete. Just final flushing and dark before harvest. Even for a sea of green plant I failed this one hard, pitiful yield. I don’t even know how good of a sense of the strain I’ll get. After putting this much effort into the diary I might as well finish it off instead of punk out.

This report is for Blueberry by Dutch Passion. A pitiful entry that I only kept up for the benefit of informing others on taste, effects, strain. I have been trying sea of green style, which largely has been a massive bust. What I’ll call systemic issues aside, like light quality, there are a few things that are flawed with the strategy. You are hoping that the strain stretches and bulks up if you never grew it before. These small clones are so vulnerable especially to cold temperatures - one of my main environment problems. So what looked like a healthy, small clone, maybe too close to a twig, didn’t do anything in terms of growing bud. In early life, this seed got mucked around bad with temperature. It took quite awhile for recovery in general, but it had bounced back. So, I wouldn’t consider the early life the struggle here. I’ve had struggles multiple Blueberries with nutrients and soil, easily going yellow, and the branches turning beet red. Identical to both plants. I’ll be brief from here on. I got a few nuglets, I was concerned I wouldn’t have an idea, but I was wrong. The strain is quite good. I was having trouble nailing it while growing, but after vaping its clear I was thrown by the name “Blueberry.” Its not sweet, its not strawberry or candy. It has a pungent, musk, or must, its very similar to Bubblegum from another distributor, which is also a musky indica. The effects are really nice indica, which is why I am excited to keep growing it this summer (outdoors). Relaxing, good as mixed bowls. The trichomes were all right during growing, but the amount of crystal became obvious when dried. I think try it out. Dutch Passion is a good distributor, and the taste/effects are good. Check back in summer for another go at it.

Harvest is typical despite whatever product is being produced. Flush or just irrigate with water for a few weeks or more, give a dark cycle, and then cut. I wet trim and then budwash before hanging to dry. So, dip and swirl in a container of baking soda, lemon juice, and water, and then rinse in a container of water.
