Sowed 2x White Widow by Crop King 1/4" deep.
1/4 Compost + 3/4 Fox Farm Potting Soil
Light watering with tap water.
Straight under 18/6
Sunblaster fluorescent light.
This little guy has developed with some pretty odd looking leaves. Im sure it will clear up. Odd genetics.
Watered every 2/3 days during this week.
Plain tap water.
Big day for me. Today I officially started in my custom made grow room. I live in Canada so a typical tent just wouldn't work for the shed I have available.
Soil was prepared 1 week in advance and set in the grow room to acclimate.
Soil make-up
-Fox Farm Potting Soil
-Garden Compost
-Worm Castings
-Gia Green 4-4-4
Transplanted the White Widow into 7gal pot and lightly watered.
5 Weeks in and this girl has grow out of her funky beginnings.
Tried to top this plant by breaking off new bud growth on main stem, however I believed I FIM'ed it.
Researched VPD this week and decided to get a humidifier to up the RH in my room. Previously my RH was 35%.
It has been about 1 month from initially turning in some amendments to my soil, with the leaves looking a tiny bit pale I decided to do a top dress.
-Top dressed with 5 tbsp Gia Green 4-4-4.
No watering all week.
Pulled it over today. I just used a paper clip on my pot and some string from the dollar store.
Added a small fan for the grow room.
Ty Wrapped up my power bar and cleaned up all the cords.
My tent isn't that tall, about 5' so I have to spread these plants out as early as possible.
Having issues controlling humidity in the tent. Does anyone know any good cheap humidity controllers for a Honeywell Humidifier?
Its either running at about 60% on the low setting or 89% on the high setting. And it just sucks through the water. Id really like something to control this.
Still no watering this week. Pots still feel really heavy.
Big learning week for me.
Tried to remove humidifier, couldn't get the range down into the 50's. Two days later the RH dropped to 22%. Needless to say, that went back in the tent. Found a humidity controller online for $45 Im considering.
Did a clean-up in the tent. Moved the plants off to one side to give me better access.
Also, during the clean I touched the bottom of the pots and noticed they were really cold. I didnt think this would happen, my tent has a insulated bottom but it didnt help so I decided to flip the drip trays to lift the pots off the ground a little more. Ill be checking on them tomorrow to see how it has worked.
As for the plant:
I picked up something called "leaf tucking" from somewhere, I wish I could remember whos feed I seen it on, they deserve a mention.
I decided to try out leaf tucking so all week I just tucked any fan leaves that were hiding bud sites. During initial LST I pulled the plant towards the handle of the pot, that's where Ive been stuffing any leaves.
Because im just tucking them under that handle, they pop out often, but whatever, bud site growth is definitely benefiting from the extra light.
Peace until next week.
Sort of on cruise control now, we made it through the cold spell, now that the temps outside have stabilized the grow tent is going on its own.
Watered once this week with plain tap water ph down to 6.6 and rested for 24 hours.
Watered until a slight bit of runoff.
Started some LST and constant defoliation to any leaves that where covering up bud sites.
Continued to take off leaves that covered lower bud sites throughout the week.
Pulled any crowed branches apart using some electrical wire cut to size and staked into the soil.
At the end of the week I decided to do a more heavy defoliation as well as slight lollypop. I think Id like to strip some more lower stuff off there but not sure the time was right. Maybe next week.
If I didnt have the other plant in the tent being so behind I would flip to flower. Im planning on trying to pull this plant down until I can get a reasonable size out of the other.
Anyone else have a situation like this? What did you do to get both plants into flower successfully.
Finally, time to flower.
Top dressed with 4 tbsp of Gia Green 4-4-4.
Watered all plants water ph 6.5
I continued to pluck out fan leaves that were covering any bud sites and maintained my tie downs. Only a couple more branches needed to be pulled into a more open spot.
At the end of the week I flipped my grow room into a 12/12 light cycle.
When I flipped to flower last week I took the time off of the end of the day. Doing that has made it difficult to get into the tent while the light is still on.
This has, in a way, forced me to stay out of the tent and let nature take its course. Less picking a plucking from me, the better.
Plants and environment have done well over the week.
Watered with a healthy dose of water ph 6.0 Friday.
I let my soil get really dry this time, I wanted those roots to really soak up every last drop before a re-water. This is good for the plant, but dont push it too far. So when watering it was important to water a bit, let it sit, then water some more, until the pot felt heavy.
Enjoy this weeks photos, see you next week!
