Just to add more to the collection and complicate things further (which I actually enjoy), another new grow diary. This one is a gift from sir HellishJam, a quality Canadian soul 🇨🇦. Wuuuuuut up, Maritimes! I don’t have much knowledge on Green House Seeds or the strain, A.M.S. Its a hybrid, genetics are Swiss Sativa x Swiss Indica - still sort of murky. I, for one, am excited. Same tent I have used up to this point, hung mylar, unfinished basement, direct furnace input for winter and output ventilation for summer. My lights are a cheap full spectrum LED (300W) with a smaller pod that is 1/6th (50W). The pod is generally situated over the seedlings. I seeded in a peat pod in a container of HP Pro Mix soil and Myke Herbs and Vegetables mycorrhizae. Today is day 1! The only birthday a cannabis plant has. (Shout-out to Njaak, AnneJ, and BudXs, who are also awesome, lest their seeds don’t pop).

Day 7 for the A.M.S. seedling. No issues so far! Its gained some height since I created such an early start point, but most development has been roots below the soil. Its a bit wet right now but has been generally perky.

Day 13 from seed for A.M.S. Not a great week with multiple struggles. First, temps have once again been an issue. My region has had swaying temperatures and on warm days my furnace has triggered alot less. Second, I’ve overwatered yet again which is my most common move in the early stages. Not great. I am confident it will recover but its just disappointing wasted time and effort.

Day 20 from seed for A.M.S. Way more room now that I’ve moved a much larger plant out. I also rearranged. Now I should have more consistent temps and airflow. Earlier this week I fed a very dilute mix of food. 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow food, Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) and blackstrap molasses. Yesterday, I transplanted into a mix of 10 parts HP Pro Mix: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil.

Day 27 from seed for A.M.S. Good news and ... mutant news? Obviously, environment has been messing around with this one, whether it be temps or watering. But, the leaves still seem pretty funky. The container was pretty dried out, but it doesn’t seem like shriveled from lack of water. Bizarre. The transplant worked though and it appears it is growing and gaining speed. I left for a few days on vacation which allowed me to dry it out.

Day 34 from seed for A.M.S. What a weird mutant! Even after feeding and irrigation it looks funky. After last week’s little recovery spurt I allowed it to dry out and then I transplanted last night. It will take some time to rebound but we will see if the leaves start to be more typical. I’ve examined it closely, I’m not sure. This is a first for me. I have had some problems lately with soil amendment late in flower. This time I diluted the mix a little more. I also made a nice layer of just HP Pro Mix at the very bottom, and only used soil amendment to side fill. 40 HP Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 1 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 1 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 1 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 alfalfa meal compost: 1 pulverized egg shells.

Day 41 from seed for A.M.S. Still mutated and a bit funky but the recent transplant was really beneficial. Everything is looking positive. Just giving it time in prep for sea of green flowering. I will take side clones if possible. Spring is coming and my basement has been much warmer lately.

Day 48 for A.M.S. Shout-out to HellishJam for the seed 🤙🏻. Still looking funky, but do I sense some normal looking leaves? I’m not sure. I am trimming some of the bigger fan leaves. I took four clones after today’s photos. Just water for irrigation. Needs to gain a little more size before I do anything with it.

Day 55 from seed for A.M.S. Trucking along and starting to push out leaves that look a bit more normal. I’ll be able to flower it in a week or two when there is room. Unsure if I’ll take clones again. Just irrigating with water. Picture before the group shot is post-defoliation this week.

Day 62 from seed for A.M.S. Things are looking good and I think some of the green is starting to fade which would be perfect timing for flowering next week. It took many weeks for this strain to start pushing out normal looking leaves (after a rough start to life). I won’t even need to take clones as I already did this. Still giving just water.

Day 66 from seed for A.M.S. Quick turn around. The space has officially opened up and so this one has been put into flower! I did not take any more clones than I already did. The plan would be just water for a bit as we get into flowering. Yee hah.

Day 75 from seed for A.M.S. One week of flowering complete. The distributor gives two options, I’ll take nine weeks which GreenHouseSeeds claims gives the most amount of resin. So that means eight weeks to go now. I have only given water and won’t give food until stretch is over. I.e. another week at minimum. My flowering tent is 6’ x 4’ hung mylar DIY with two 300 actual watt full spectrum LEDs and 96 watts of yellow LEDs supplementing the spectrum.

Day 82 for A.M.S. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. Bud formation is coming. What a funky little plant, I’ve documented this over time. I’m not quite sure what to expect now that is has finished stretch? Future plants will need more size. I fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag).

Day 89 for A.M.S. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks to go. You can see the main bud distinctly forming. I can’t see it yielding much but we are very early yet. Last feeding was essentially a full week ago, 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Its been all week and I am only giving just water yesterday. Feeding will come again this week.

Day 103 for A.M.S. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. This one is due food soon as its been some time. Just chugging along. It is sort of putting off an odd sweet smell, which is somewhat accurate to what the website said. Starting to get a distinct bud now. To note: its clones are still struggling and still look the same funky.

Day 111 for A.M.S. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. I fed mid week, 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom, a popsicle stick of Blackstrap molasses, and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Sort of sweet, funky smell.

Day 117 for A.M.S. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks of flowering to go. Decision time, whether to feed again, but then it will be water until the end. The funky sort of sweet smell is getting stronger.

I harvested at about eight weeks, which is a week early. With light upgrades in my tents and shuffling I wanted the room and it wasn’t bulking up any more. I really flushed outside in addition to water for some time. I wet trimmed for harvest and then bud wash before hanging. Washing is just rinsing in a container of baking soda, lemon juice, and water, and a second container of just water.
