Indoor growing. No tent, no artificial light or extra nutrition so far.
Germination succesfull after 18 hours soaking up tapwater and approximately 12 hours in moist tissue afterwards.
Breaking through soil after three days in well prewatered soil, with a glass jar on top for increasing humidity.
First week going by smoothly. Still no artificial light or added nutrients. She is placed near a window and gets to soak up the daylight.
Soil was prewatered enough, so up until now there's been no need for watering.
Halfway through the week, cat litter was applied on soil (carefully not getting it in contact with her) to prevent infestation with soil insects. This meassure was taken due to other plants in the home apparently being infested, and her pot looking like it might have caught something too. No further signs of insects have been seen since applying cat litter on the soil.
Second week went well. She's growing, developing more leaves and looks healthy.
Weather has been a bit unstable here, and no heater has been working, so the temperature has been a bit up- and down for her, but she enjoys the daylight near the window and grows for every day.
Still no need for watering. On the contrary: the soil is still so moist that I actually worry a bit about it being too wet, since her leaves (one in particular) looks sagging. But the cat litter on top soaks up some of it, and I just cross my fingers that it'll work out without any issues.
Throughout the third week of Mrs. Zkittlez vegetation period, we had some gloomy and grey weather back here, which ended in almost no sunlight through the windows and barely any proper daylight.
I ended up creating a poor excuse for a light reflector with some aluminum foil and an old cardboard box. It seems to reflect the daylight and improve her conditions a bit and the past few days her growth has speeded up significantly.
Due to this weather situation I decided to invest in some sunlight supplement and will have it up and running for the following week.
All in all a good week.
A fine week.
During Day 22 I set up a small growth light (picture will come) which is not effective enough to completely rule out the need for day light, but it sure helps the girl's growth. She looks stronger, healthier and her leaves are fanning out so pretty, as she tries to soak up as much sun light as she can. It really makes a difference during this gloomy weather were having here, so I'm glad I chose to make a sort of combination between a window grow and a lamp-usage grow.
5th week went by without any trouble.
During day 33 I decided to make a more pleasant looking setup, and installet the plants inside an IKEA VUKU fabric wardrobe, covered the inside with aluminium blankets for reflection and set up the grow light at the top bar in the wardrobe. It works fine, though this is still a solution without any air filter attached, so the smell is something I must live with for now. Besides that, it looks so much better than having pots and lights set up in an awful mess by the window.
Wonderful week.
I initiated LST on day 39 and she has reached maturity and showing it proudly. She is thriving and well in the IKEA VUKU wardrobe still. Seems to be functioning.
Growing and flowering in such a pretty manner. She's not that big, I see room for more improvement on my next grows, concerning getting more volume into the plant. But she is still doing good, considering all my experiments.
Still slowly frosting and growing. New lamp is on the way, with a better light spectrum. It might be a bit too late, but I see that it's needed for the flowering phase, and she's definitely not my only or my last grow, so the money is happily spend. :)
