End of Week 1. Germinated all but Blue Dream (BD)on Monday 5/4 - in cup of water for 24 hrs, then in paper towel for 48hrs. Planted in small peat pods on Thursday 5/7. BD arrived on 5/8 and was immediately put in a cup of water for 17 hrs, then in paper towel for another day. Planted in peat pod on Sunday 5/10. All received organic soil with perlite mix and microrrhizae. Only filtered water for first few days, until Friday 5/15 - all were thoroughly feed with water & black strap molasses (1 tspn / gal). Saturday 5/16 all leaves & top soil were sprayed twice with sea kelp added to water (1 oz / gal).
End of Week 2: Tough but transformative week. Noticed the girlz weren’t growing like they should, as well as chlorosis on 8 Ball and Free - so changes were made. Got them out of the small peat pots (which needed watering every few hours - so, overwatered?) and put them in 1 gallon fabric pots. 8 Ball had the worst transplant shock out of all of them. Changed the water pH from 7.2 to 6.4 and measured runoff after thorough watering - coming in at 6.77. Now they need watering every 3-4 days instead of a few times per day. Fixed all light leaks - duct tape over glaring red power buttons on light, fan And power strip. Changed direction of all tent fans so they’re no longer blowing directly on the girlz. Dimmed the intense grow light down 1 degree, instead of moving it farther away. In short, the 2nd set of leaves are paying for mistakes made in weeks 0-1. Upgrading pot, better watering with proper pH, fixing light leaks, wind & light burn is making a difference in growth and appearance.
End of Week 3: First week using nutrients (Mega Crop) - 4 days ago. Next feeding tomorrow. More growth this week than any other. All are green with nutrient / leaf deficiencies fixed. No more overwatering- now all are thoroughly watered every 5 days or so.
End of Week 4: More growth this week. Leaves are green and healthy. Noticed a few gnats in the tent, so wiped everything down with hydrogen peroxide. Added a small Eva Dry Dehumidifier to the tent this week. Fed nutrients on Monday (5 days ago) and watered yesterday (Friday) - using ~ 1/4 tsp of white vinegar to pH down the filtered water (also had some left over nutes & a bit of sea kelp water remnants in the pump). Watered at 6.34 pH with only a little run off. Overall, the young ladies Are looking good. Side note: noticed white hairs on Free Bird (free seeds from Seed Supreme) - could this be an auto flower or just showing sex early?
End of Flower Week 1: Switch to flower on Monday 6/8 with 18 hours, then 12/12 start the next morning. More growth this week both vertical and horizontal. Fed with 1/4 tsp / gallon of Mega Crop on Tuesday 6/9, pH 6.4. Lite LST with bamboo sticks. Next watering tomorrow with 1 tsp / gallon of Black Strap Molasses. The young ladies are green and healthy.
End of Flower Week2: vertical & horizontal growth continues. Slight nute burn on leaf tips. Watered thoroughly yesterday with 1/8 tsp Mega Crop & 1/8 tsp Flower Fuel per 1 gal tap water (6.4pH, 201ppm, 71 degrees). Runoff ppm was in the high 2000s, so each was semi-flush right after feed with 1/8 gallon pure filtered water (5.5pH) - second runoff between 1200-1800ppm. New 300W LED light added to tent - now 1 light per 2 plants. The ladies are doing well and starting to flower - with Free Bird in the lead.
End of Flower Week 3: Two Feedings this week, 3 days apart. Earlier in the week fed with 1/8 Mega Crop & 1/8 Flower Fuel per gallon; later in the week fed with only bloom nutes (1/4 Flower Fuel & 1/8 Epsom Salt per gallon). Bud sites blooming this week, vertical plant growth (between 4 and 8 inches), starting to frost. Slight battle with keeping humidity and temp down - will work on that this week.
End of Flower Week 4: experiencing nute burn and high humidity (~60%RH). First full 1/4 tsp feeding of Flower Fuel, and first feed with Cal Mag (1/8tsp) /gal - 1 tsp of Black molasses/ gal earlier this week. Thoroughly watered twice this week. Lite schwazzing to remove all fan leaves blocking bud sites, as well as lower and damaged leaves. Vertical growth continued 1 to 3 inches. Bud sites continue to grow and fatten up - more trichome frost this week.
End of Flower Week 5: Set up a new Flower tent this week - Viviosun 3x3 - under a new Mars Hydro TS1000 light (dimmed down to 70%). Added the Eva Dry Humidifier and an additional mini dehumidifier - bringing RH down from 60-65% to 48-53%. Still battling high temps of 78-82F, so added an Exhale CO2 bag to tent to maximize heat. Vertical growth has come to a halt - only 1|4” growth this week. Main colas are getting thicker; lower colas continue to develop size and mass [a lower cola on 8 Ball Kush that was just under the CO2 bag has increased in size and mass, developing a double bud.] Much more frost this week - will try to lower temps down to 65-70F in order to boost trichomes / frost. Nute burn and leaf color fade continues to be an issue with the 2 plants heading for harvest in the next 4 weeks (8 Ball and Freebird) - may not be that big of an issue. The 2 smaller plants with 5-6 more weeks til harvest are handling nutes much better.
End of Flower Week 6: Heat and humidity are in check this week. Fed 3 days ago with 1/4 tsp each of Flower Fuel and Cal Mag (6.05pH, 491ppm, 75.7F). Only PH’d water today (5.83pH, 79ppm, 75.5F) and top-dressed soil with used coffee grounds to passively add more nitrogen. Strong smell this week coming from the tent. More frosty trichomes - all clear. Buds are fattening and pistils are ripening from white to orange. Still fighting nute burn and fading leaf color.
At this time, Chop Schedule is planned for: 1) Free Bird = in 2 weeks; 2) 8 Ball Kush = in 3 weeks; 3) Midnight Mass = in 4 weeks; 4) Blue Dream = in 5 weeks
End of Flower Week 7: Approaching harvest in the next few weeks. All have been watered earlier in the week, then fed today with 1/4 tsp Flower Fuel / gal of nutes.
End of Flower Week 8: Watered with pH’d water earlier in the week, and fed yesterday with 1/4 tsp Bud Explosion & 1/4 tsp Sweet Candy - no instant burn like with Flower Fuel.
