This is Trainwreck! One of my favourites still going strong. I find this strain is abundant, tasty, easy-to-grow, and easy-to-grow. This iteration is by Native Seed Company, it is a mix of Mexican x Thai x Afghani. I have other grows documented of this line. This is day 25 as these clones are fairly recent. My tent is hung mylar in an unfinished basement. I have sealed the heat in. I finally have things set up and of course I have an LED die and delay this diary. The fans cut out but the damage is more major. My genius buddy loves the tinkering work, but it takes time. In the meantime, I’m just boosting with 64 fluorescent watts in addition to the 300 actual watt full spectrum LED. Pains me to be using that light yet again haha. I included the damaged light pics. The soil mixture is 5 parts HP Pro Mix: 1 part perlite: 1 part worm castings. I used Myke Flower mycorrhizae in the transplant. Lovely roots, I did miss one of the photos so I only have one. I also fed with some veg. tea to give a bit of a boost. I took 2 cups blood and bone meal: 2 cups alfalfa meal compost: 2 Cups worms castings: 1 cup Myke Flower mycorrhizae, 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses, and mixed it with 20 liters of water. I pulsed it off and on for a day with a concrete mixer/power drill, and it steeped all night. Next day I diluted around 10:1 strength.

Day 32 for the two Trainwreck clones. As I expected for the strain, explosive growth. Thin branches and leaves, but it roots nicely and loves to grow. I will be able to transplant these two sooner than expected. I received new amendment so I’m excited to get going anyway. I made a veg tea at the start of the week. I took 2 cups blood and bone meal, 2 cups alfalfa meal compost, 2 worm castings, 1 cup Myke Flower mycorrhizae and 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses, and mixed it with 20 Liters of water. I pulsed it through the day with a concrete mixer/drill, and let it steep overnight. The next day I diluted and watered. Trainwreck seemed to love it, I didn’t really see any excess issues.

Day 39 for these two Trainwreck clones. Lots to update on, most prominent is potential trouble: pests. I can’t really tell if I’m having secondary amendment issues or if there is an abundance of specks from insects. I certainly would suspect the presence, but I’m sure its no spider mites in my experience. There is alot of ladybug activity in the tent so I’m not sure. I’ll withhold treatment until I see things progress. I transplanted earlier in the week. I am using Gaia Green 4-4-4 All Purpose amendment as directed, and I was able to use 15 parts HP Pro Mix: 1 part perite: 1 part worm castings as the medium mix. I also used Myke Flower mycorrhizae. I played back the tea again because of the success. This time, I reduced the strength a bit using 20 Liters of water, one cup of blood and bone meal, one cup of alfalfa meal compost, two cups of worm castings, 1 tablespoon of Gaia Green All Purpose amendment, 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses. I did not have Myke on hand so I just tossed in two cups of HP Pro Mix soil, which has mycorrhizae. It would jus be trace as opposed to concentrated culture. I periodically pulsed the stew with a concrete mixer/drill and let it sit over night. The next day I diluted and fed to the plants. Maybe early, but we’ll wee Trainwreck is typically a nutrient hog. I performed LST with a simple tie. Getting multiple tops now. I’ll throw in some pics my friend Max Pointy sent me as he fixed my LED, which will be back soon. This guy also bought the Trainwreck seeds this lineage comes from, so well done sir. Not get yer ass back onto Grow Diaries!

Day 46 for the two Trainwreck clones. This is what I’m used to with TW by Native Seed Co.: fast growing, branchy, dark green. Pest treatment this week as I am not seeing enough ladybugs, and the occasional whitefly. I sprayed with potassium based soap and neem oil. I also fed the overnight steeped tea again today. Same ingredients as last time: blood and bone meal, alfalfa meal compost, worm castings, Myke mycorrhizae, and blackstrap molasses. I was getting lots of bubbles so I’m getting better at activating. Its been almost two weeks now but I will make a note that I did get my second LED back. Back to 600 actual watts.

Day 53 for these two Trainwreck clones. Everything is looking good. I continue to spray preventively for pests. I’ve learned my lesson and I’m not messing this up if I can help it. Potassium based soap and neem oil on the regular, probably too much of the former on the edge of excess, but a sacrifice for now. I love how bushy Trainwreck always is, thin profile leaves, but loves to root and offshoot. I’ll keep this line going. I transplanted using HP Pro Mix, some added perlite, Myke Flower mycorrhizae, and Gaia Green 4-4-4 All Purpose amendment. I also gave some CalMag via watering.

Day 60 for the Trainwreck clones. This strain is always so bushy, with endless off branching. It may be the most excellent cloner. Things are looking good and Trainwreck is demanding more room. A few of these plants may force my hand early, which would be a typical Beans. Time to get creative? I’m just giving water and applying Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) every other time.

Day 67 for the two Trainwreck clones. Okay, it was time for major defoliation. These two were just crowding everything. Bigger plants continue to crowd other smaller ones, and stretch anything, I’ll look to change that at the end of this week. With flower coming I applied some 18–18-21 Tomato Miracle Grow to give some of N, P, and K, and blackstrap molasses. I have some clones cooking that I hope will root. I hope so as I love this strain and threw many clones out in trimming (my clone box is full).

Day 74 for the two Trainwreck clones. Veg. time has run out so the bushy mature plants have been moved to the flower tent. This set up is 6’ x 4’ and larger than the previous tent. The lighting is 600watt Vivosun HPS. Respect to HellishJam and BudXs for leading the charge in the Canadian community. Big watering in prep. for the heat but I’ll look to give one last boost before stretch ends. I may have some major problems with proximity to the lights. We shall see how hot things get haha. They have experienced just one nighttime cycle, so this is the flower trigger.

Day 81 for the two Trainwreck clones. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks of flowering to go. Getting tall and stretching. I gave dilute 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow earlier in the week to top up and make sure it wasn’t eating into the fan leaves yet and just water since. Its quite hot in the tent and the Trainwreck clearly is tapping out based on the ridged leaves. I’ve seen already crystally Trainwreck do well under HPS so I expect a better show once the buds really kick in.

Day 89 for the two Trainwreck clones. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks of flower remain. The stretch under HPS has been unreal. If its too hot/intense for the plant, it still continues to grow anyway. Budding is starting so embrace the flower show. The last watering was 0-10–10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Hopefully the tops don’t get burnt ... but don’t expect much action hehehe 🐒

Day 96 for the two Trainwreck clones. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks of flowering to go. These poor things, right on the light. Its their own fault for stretching so much! The leaves are ruffled and you can see the intensity. However, I did get my heat pump installed and though the air conditioning isn’t really running this time of year, I have to he ability to circulate the total volume of air with the centralized fan. Even at the end of the day I’m just below 30 degrees Celsius which is a good change. I fed 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz this week and added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I have already given some water so it will be more food soon enough.

Day 103 for these Trainwreck clones. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks of flowering remaining. Trainwreck is starting to cake on trichomes on every surface, starting to get sticky and coated with resin. Alternating 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag), with just water. Last irrigation was food. The nitrogen demand in terms of other absorption has been large as well as pH all over the place which has just melted the leaves off. Not to mention the intensity and proximity to the HPS. Lots of air flow at least haha.

Day 110 for the Trainwreck clones. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks of flowering remaining. Not a great week for the HPS. I see what appears to be bananas on another plant. Even though I don’t see any explicit problems with Trainwreck I’m assuming the same thing applies. The reality is I let them get too big and thus they stretched too close to the light. I learn from these experiences. I did move them to more of the exterior, putting a smaller plant in the middle, I don’t think it makes much of a difference now. I gave what will be the last of the 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Time to dial the food down and get ready for the end. I will say one consistent thing with this strain, even in the face of the intense light the resin is everywhere. Trainwreck just oozes, so sticky.

Day 117 for the two Trainwreck clones. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. You can really see the neglect with these ones (no, not the falling over and ridiculous nodal spacing that was a result of a mistake), as the nute burn is everywhere. It was probably worth it as the buds are small, but dense, and seeping with resin. It is hard to get sticky under the HPS and so close, but these buds are gooey. And sweet. The last irrigation was 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Fading food now and will soon be giving just water.

Day 124 for the two Trainwreck clones. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. Not great pictures as both are just sprawled everywhere. I tried to get two consecutive top-down shots to establish that there are two. Obviously, the stretch mistake is well documented in the diary, but I’ve noticed that Trainwreck still concentrated at the tips of the branches, the lank is never going to help with this one. Me thinks it would be ideal for sea of green. We know it stretches, it seems the crowns are usually comparable in size, so you want many crowns or many plants. I’ve had major nute burn, meh. Major branch droop, meh. Its been hot and dry, meh. I really was mentally devaluing this grow. However, a revelation: this is by far the most sticky in the HPS tent. With the intensity, heat, and dryness, the buds get blasted and aren’t necessarily gooey. I’ve mentioned many time my affinity for this strain, it is because of this. It is sticky, crystally, it will thrive. I also noticed the density is superb. Again, was undershooting, examined today and was stunned by the rock hard ness. Its all comparable, I’m not a great grower, but Trainwreck by Native Seed Co. keeps performing in any condition and is c-o-n-s-i-s-t-e-n-t. (Of course its consistent, Beans you idiot, you are just cloning the exact same genes). I gave the last application of 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag), now it will just be water.

Day 130 for the two Trainwreck clones. Eight weeks of flowering complete, one week to go. What can I say about you, my love? Sticky! And dense. The smell is intoxicating. The last week will be uncharacteristic, I will move them to my basement outside the tent to chill. I’m not harvesting tomorrow, it is extended. I will try to get one more week update but no promises. I have been watering regularly.

Day 134 for the two Trainwreck clones. A quick and rough update to just give an idea of the progress. Its mid week and the plants are only one or two days away from day 63 of flower which is the projected window. As stated, I took the plants out after the last update and they sat in the general basement until now as the pistils receded. It is largely dark, and there is indirect ambient light on the 12/12 flower tent cycle. Obviously it has only gotten water for some time. So cut the two down, trimmed, budwashed and hung. I would say the yield isn’t impressive as I stretched the plants and faded the fan leaves quickly. I do find the sugar leaves and bud fan leaves fade quickly with this strain, and how dead sugar leaves are intermingled in the dense buds. It makes trimming challenging. But the buds are dense and sticky, covered in trichomes. Sweet, sour, and fuel smells. I’ll be excited to soon consume the old friend. I didn’t bother updating the stats this week.
