run off on speedy has been really high 2500PPM +, so I haven't fed her, last on was perfect at 900, and princess is doing amazing after the NPK microbes/ feeding, I'm kinda iffy about using spores in my room.. Idk what the health implications are, there was a bit of mold on the soil again, but I was still battling the humidity and doing the electrical. And didn't get a chance to aerate it, there was also a tiny bit on speedy, I've aerated her soil, will do it again after this.
I used a foiler spray of baking soda/ 1/2tsp of Neem, PH to 7.89 on Speedy, I like to spray after I trim, to seal the wounds, and prevent molds if its in the soil. I usually use acidic, but i figured I'd try alkaline. So far so good.
Started using a reptile lamp that emits UVA and UVB, directed at the soil to maybe keep it at bay, I've been running tolerance tests, few hrs here and there so far, hasn't had another feeding yet, that and aerating I hope solves it, still no H202 available.
I also got the Recharge I was waiting for in, similar to NPK couple extra things in it missing one species NPK is but has a few extra + fulvic, and humic acid im thinking I might give Speedy some recharge since she's so obviously behind see if she can break even or do better, amazing what the microbes did that plant looks so much better, and thats the only change so far.
They aren't fair to compare together at this point since one was being flushed.
Not sure what those white things are pictured above found a few, I don't think they are bugs? idk
Really surprised how long it took me to get climate controlled again.. like 3-4days and I think I got lucky that its cooler, going to try the 1000w, kind of nervous Idk if you can run it without the glass on the hood. I'm hoping if its cool, its night, and the temp stays down that's the only concern.
How do you know when you've failed, and when you should cut your losses? guess my plan tentatively going forward is a vinegar bath for soil, with hydrogen peroxide if i can source it, adding additional intake, and circulation fans in the tent(in 3 days), and a good tent cleaning
Anyone have some experience with mold, is mold in the soil normal? is this something people experience, it feels like a fail to me. What should I be doing? I'm gonna begin supplementing potassium silica as it arrives, and NPK microbes until DGC Recharge. Thanks -Astral
Hello. Yes mold spores are everywhere. They come in on the wind. Hydrogen Peroxide, it doesn't like fungus or bacteria. Please try: 1 ounce of 35% HP to 5 gallons of water. You can mix it a little stronger if you need to, but you can burn your root tips if you make it too strong. The plants love the extra oxygen too. Good Luck. Chuck.
Considering switching to bottom feeding, i think that would mitigate surface mold, any one that uses this already have some advice? I think you don't want it to soak in nutes for more than 5-10min? Feed when the pot gets light? flush 1 a week but i risk mold again
If your in fabric planters then it would be a good idea just to make sure the entire medium gets wet. Top feeding leaves dry areas in your fabric planters after they fill with roots. The top mold, algae just rough up the surface a day or two after watering. Cheers friend
Nice grow mate, plants are looking good, keep it up, imma follow this one upclose.
