I started this plant for a friend and he ended up giving it back to me. It was mostly outdoors. About 3 or 4 days after she popped the surface I gave it to him. He kept it in his yard and I didn't too many pictures.
First leaves are looking good. Enjoying the Spring weather. You can see that the perlite is showing. I use 50% top soil, 25% compost and 25% perlite. I would walk 1/2 mile to my friend's house about once or twice a day to check on her. Too long ago to remember the watering, air temps, day light hours. I start the plant out in distilled water and misting distilled water. My friend was probably just letting rain do the watering, keep it simple.
Unfortunately I killed my plant. I thought I had spider mites. My friend transplanted the plant and it was very wet. I put a tomato cage and chicken wire around it. Now in my back yard. I made a mixture with vinegar which wilted the leaves almost immediately.
Probably in the pre-flower stage. I was just so thrilled that some new leaves had grown. This was a 3 week set back on 6 week old plant that has a 10 week life expectancy. Ever since Memorial Day the weed growing outlook was looking bad. I'm just estimating the height.
Still estimating height. Still no flowers yet, and coming back to life. Amazing the loss of the leaves helped as she split naturally. There was one main branch (70%) and one main branch (30%). So mad growing outside, with 14 hours of free daylight and no plant that is more than hardly alive. Better luck next year. Wife won't let me use grow lights in summer. It was mainly to start this plant and vegetables in the winter. Assuming 4 ounces daily at this point, except rainy days. This compost tea is all I used. Fresh compost steeped in rain water for 3 days. OMG another complaint about this website. For my outdoor grow I use 4 ounces of compost tea. That would be 118 ml. It is not 118 ml/l as that is impossible to calculate the concentration of the tea.
Started 8 ounces daily of compost tea. Again this is 237 ml not 237 ml/l. I got a great deal at the dispensary cheaper than the 80's. It was 1/8 ounce for $10. It was a customer appreciation day. Just about finished the Meat breath I had gotten in February 1g. This was probably in May. It was nice because my friend and I each got an 1/8 and split it since the deal was one per customer. I got Sativa and Indica that way. The Indica was OG Kush and the Sativa was Seranado. My first g was December 1 I had to wait a whole month before the lines died down. That lasted until Feb. Then I got the seeds and the Meat breath indica. I was in the store and said give me your best cheap Indica, well even thought it lasted me 3 months it still was costly. They charge a 10% tax and a 6% sales tax on top of $20 grams. Maybe August 28 was my last dispensary purchase. That was Yem OG at 20% off. I doubt they cure their products for a month. I aim for 2-10 days drying and 2-10 days curing. I've gone higher. I use the leaves to add humidity. The technique is to dry slowly.
Well onto the 11th week and flowering at about the life expectancy so my hopes of getting more than 1 g are very low. Still astonished she came back to life and I've invented a new grow technique, kill all the leaves.
I thought I had seeds. That was just the clover. Clover is a good cover crop and a good source of nitrogen. We had some beautiful hot sunny days in Michigan this Summer.
Decided to start sampling the weed. It is hard to smoke when it hasn't dried. My plan was to every week pick one bud. Then I started curing. This way I maintained a steady flow of fresh weed. Again drying 2-10 days, curing 2-10 days. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.
I use the leaves to help dry slowly. It adds humidity naturally. The dried smoked a little better. The cured not much better. I continued this process of harvesting every week.
No pictures this week. Still harvesting weekly. Still curing and drying. Not many leaves to pick to enable my humidity process. I also keep the leaves in the curing jar.
This is how I dry it. A little leaf and put on the dehydrator. Unplugged of course. Keeps it humid. I smoke leaves, stems, sugar leaves and buds are best.
I really need to get a scope. These phone pics are 8x. I bought a clip on and it didn't work. So back it went to Amazon. Looked so kool too 60x to 100x.
I was getting tired of going back and forth inside on cold days. Getting ready to move her back inside and take a third or two thirds off. Was going to try to keep her outside until October 13. On October 9 it looked like the top cola was getting brown. It is to me a nice way to dry on the vine.
I decide to pick off another third. So maybe a total of 3 grams. I am thinking 1 gram for each third I removed. I don't have a scale and I don't care anyway. She is still in the basement and will be seven months old in 2 weeks. After a 10 day cure I've been pulling from the honey jar every now and then. On one occasion this month a seed popped out of the bud. And believe me the bud wasn't much bigger than the seed.
It looks like there is one bud starting again. It is still curing and will be 30 days for the last batch harvested on Nov 20 on Dec 20. Hope to enter this in the diary of the month.
One more complaint about this website. When it says 10 weeks, it is really 9 weeks. It is counting the germination as a week. Oh well time to smoke some Yoga OG from the dispensary.
