Glookies by Barney's Farm! This Gorilla Glue x Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies cross is a combination of two of my favourite strains so I had to give it a go. Looking a bit funky from the get-go but I think that may be a result of poor buffering of the coco coir media. A good flush ought to sort that right out.

Keep getting this slimy green algae forming on the surface of the coco coir medium. Not sure if this is temperature dependent but it's pretty annoying, not sure if it's having a detrimental effect on the plant but I'd rather it wasn't here lol

"If you see green stuff growing on the top of your coco (algae) it’s often a sign that you’re watering too often. Although algae won’t hurt your plants directly, it only appears when the top of the coco has been constantly wet for a long time."

You just need to block the light to the medium. You can use something called Panda film for a commercial product, or something as simple as a piece of tin foil.

Block the light any way you can. The green algae is pretty normal and not really harmful, but you're right, it is annoying and it does use up some oxygen.
