Week 1 Veg Glookies by Barney's Farm! This Gorilla Glue x Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies cross is a combination of two of my favourite strains so I had to give it a go. Looking a bit funky from the get-go but I think that may be a result of poor buffering of the coco coir media. A good flush ought to sort that right out.

Week 2 Veg Coming along nicely. Nice, waxy leaves. They're looking a little yellow but I think the next feed should clear that up. Didn't want to risk having burnt tips so early on so thought to err on the side of caution.

Week 5 Veg Missed a week of photos but well and truly there was such little growth in that time due to environmental issues. I didn't appreciate just how cold some of the nighttime temperatures were in the veg tent and this would mean for growth (especially the youngins). Installed a heating element to keep temperatures between 19-23 at all times so hopefully, there should be an increase in the rate of growth. I think I've also started these in pots that are far too small. I didn't appreciate just how rootbound they were at this point, like bloody ramen

Week 5 Veg Doing well, they've responded well to the transplant and are coming along nicely. Not much exciting happening with respect to training at this point but I'm looking forward to tying them down once they've grown tall enough to be manipulated and encourage some new growth. Happy Growing!

Week 6 Veg There is a really strange assymetry between some of the lower branches. I initially thought this was due to improper irradiation of the canopy so I started giving the pot a 180-degree rotation every time I would visit the tent but this did nothing so I assumed this was just a result of the genetics. Don't ask me how this happens but yeah, I took that set of nodes as clones when transplanting this plant into its next pot size (2.5L). Here's hoping the clones take successfully and the mother warms into its new home.

Keep getting this slimy green algae forming on the surface of the coco coir medium. Not sure if this is temperature dependent but it's pretty annoying, not sure if it's having a detrimental effect on the plant but I'd rather it wasn't here lol

"If you see green stuff growing on the top of your coco (algae) it’s often a sign that you’re watering too often. Although algae won’t hurt your plants directly, it only appears when the top of the coco has been constantly wet for a long time." https://www.growweedeasy.com/how-often-to-water-coco-coir

You just need to block the light to the medium. You can use something called Panda film for a commercial product, or something as simple as a piece of tin foil.

Block the light any way you can. The green algae is pretty normal and not really harmful, but you're right, it is annoying and it does use up some oxygen.

Week 7 Veg Looking good - going steady. These plants are growing as part of a perpetual grow, a few weeks left before the flower tent has enough space for GLOOKIES.
