I started germination of this Gold Bar Kush bean on 29/12/2020. I pre moistened my rockwool cube with ph balanced water to 6.4. Made sure the plug was just damp and not soaked. Using a small wooden dowel I increased the size of the plugs pre made hole. Than I sowed my bean into the hole. Ripped off a small piece of rockwool and mulched it up. Lightly filled the hole in with the mulched rockwool. Than stuck the plug into a misted humidity dome, to complete germination.
Shouldn't take anymore than 4-5 days to see a sprout. Once I see some cotlydon leaves bursting to the surface. I will get the plug planted into a 1 gallon pot. Plus get this lady situated into her new home. Cant wait!
Some background information on my first run with GBK. It's a VERY robust variety packing hella branches, hella quick. Prime candidate for continues ongoing lst work. To maintain a clean, uncongested even canopy. She can become a jungle quick if left untamed. Shes very easy going in the nutrient department. Not hard to keep this one happy. Packs on lots of weight everywhere towards end of flower. Branches most definitely need some support or they will come crashing down.
The flavor and aroma from this variety sre majestic. The intense indica effects are heavenly. Not hard to guess why it's back in the grow room for round 2.
Day 1
After 4 days of germination time, I got action!
So I planted my sprouts plug into a 1 gallon pot. The pot was filled with promix hp that I pre moistened with ph balanced water. Now It's time for this lady to stretch her legs. Forming a solid root structre to support the rapid growth of a cannabis plant. Her main focus will be below soil for the first few days. My main focus will be a solid wet to dry cycle for this lady to really thrive! Her needs are very minimal and easy going at this point. Too much or too little water is really the only non environmental factor that can lead this to a poor start. So I'm going to have to be on point lol.
Day 2
Sprout is looking green vibrant and healthy. I turned on all the humidifiers to battle the dry air from this latest cold snap. After the equipment tweaking it has got even drier outside! The environment has stayed stable so I got my gear right were I need it for the next couple weeks.
Day 4
This lady got a nice shot of water today. Her first watering since being planted. 500ml of ph balanced water to 6.4. She is happy and content.
This lady is off to a good start. Starting to stack up some new nodes. Well fattening up her single bladed daggers. I have really had her on a great wet to dry cycle. Making it easy for her to get off to a solid start.
I've tightly monitored and have kept environment dialed in. Growth should really start to pick up now that she has really settled in. This lady got a nice lower strength dose of feed. It's her first taste so I started nice and low. Break her into a healthy diet.
This is my first time using this brand of nutrients. So I'm going to be working on dialing in a feeding regime. Plus creating a week by week chart for myself. I love trying new things so this will definitely be fun!
Growth has been strong and steady. Starting to see lots of new nodes and foliage. I will give her 1 more week in this pot and than I will transplant into a 5 gallon container.
She got her nutrients bumped up a bit. I am slowly elevating the levels as the need and demand rises. Response was great, she had a nice growth spurt following the feed. Just what I like to see.
This lady is booming right along! Growth is very strong and it was time for a transplant. I got her out of the 1 gallon and into 5 gallon pot. I used sunshine mix #4 to transplant with. Roots were exploding from everywhere. A very Solid root systems is already in play.
I also upped her feed dose again. This will basically be the tops for veg. I will stick with this for 2 weeks. Than make the flip for bloom. At that time I will get her on a transition feed diet. Until next time happy growing and stay lit fam!
Update***
Preventative treatment of lost coast plant theropy was applied. Response was great.
Gotta keep it nice and clean up in here.
Hella strong week of growth! This lady just took off in force. I kept the nute mix the same as last week. Its exactly what the doctor ordered. I Adjusted the lighting to keep a nice 30 inch gap. She is just Flourishing.
Shes been treated a few times now with my IPM rotation. So today she got a good shower! Washed her foliage clean of the VERY minimal residual build up. Used ph balanced water. Get those pores clean up for the lady.
Last week of veg and imma make the flip. Going for a solid compact canopy. Cant let her get to big and out of hand during stretch lmfao.
Until next update happy growing and stay fam.
Update***
Watered this lady with straight ph balanced water to 6.4 mid week. After I treated using Dr Zhymes. Following day after treatment she got another shower. Until next update... Happy growing and stay lit fam.
This lady went off again! Continued to explode with growth in volumes. Just absolutely rocketing through veg. So I had to call it a wrap. Giving her the flip to flower to start off this week.
I gave her a bit of a transition feeding. That will get altered again at the end of the week feeding. She got treated again with lost coast. She will also get a good shower tomorrow to clean the minimal residual. That has managed to build up over the last couple treatments.
I'm excited to kick into bloom. Until next update happy growing and stay lit fam.
Update***
Did a topping to reduce vertical stretch of the main stalk during transition. Also treated using dr zhymes for preventative measures.
This lady is half way through the stretch and just booming with vigor. Topping really helped minimize canopy stretch. Really getting this lady to extend her side branching and fill out. As opposed to become a huge Christmas tree on me. Hopefully mid week I can do a little under skirt clean up. We will see how my times breaks up.
I preventative treated again with Dr zhymes. She is due for a little rinse mid week. Than a hit with lost coast end of week. I increased the nutrient mix. Got her on a fuller transition diet. With some new goodies from the plantimatter line. I will ride this feed for atleast a solid week. So she will get a few dumps at these values.
All in all just cruising along! Until next update. Happy growing and stay lit fam.
Stretch is done and flowers are piling on now! I treated with lost coast as a preventative. I kept the feed the same but it will be altered end of grow week. Canopy is getting hella full can't wait to watch these colas stack on. Until next update. Happy growing and stay lit fam.
This lady has been all flowers as she bolsters her colas. Stocky and bushy... I'm really liking the structre. Lots of branches and lots of bud sites. Of course I'm happy. Shes in great health just cruising along.
She got treated with Dr zhymes as a preventative. That will basically wrap up her treatments ...possibly once more with lost coast.
Upped the pk intake as she is blooming strong now. Gotta keep that engine well fuelled. Response was stellar. Happy happy happy lady.
Until next update. Happy growing and stay lit fam.
This lady created quite the sea of tops. Shes getting nice and chunky as her bud production revs up. Trichomes are starting to pile on as she gives herself a coat. Strong orange citrus aroma wofting from her. Looks sexy and smells tasty! I can't wait.
I reduced the nitrogen dose again. I also stopped giving them vigorous. Its a pure bloom mix now as this lady is booming with flowers. Until next update. Happy growing and stay lit fam.
Buds are really putting on weight! Frost is in abundance. Colas have really gained defined shape and structure. The aroma is getting intense. Full blown bloom is a wonderful thing.
Just watching as the sexyness gets more defined. We have hit the major bulking phase.
Do to the new phase of growth the feeding has once again changed. I added bud golem to the mix. To get every drip drop of flowering vigor this lady has to push. Really gives that extra umph for the bulking phase. Will eliminate that last bit of grow outta the mix next feed. Than ride that mix to the flush. Until next update . Happy growing and stay lit fam.
Swelling and bulking, bulking and swelling. This baby is coming to a close quick as she plows through the bulking phase. Putting on a thick layer of frost thats starting to glisten as the trichomes begin to get cloudy. Majestic to watch her show her true beaty during peak flowering.
No change in the feeding department. I'm going to ride it through with this until its time for the flush. Right now its rinse and repeat until shes getting good and ready. Until next update. Happy growing and stay lit fam.
