The seeds were put in a glass of water for 24h and then I used the paper towel method. It took around 2 days (a little less) fot the taproots to come out. Once they did, I put them into soil.
Feb. 4th
So far, 2 (out of 2) Purple Punches Auto and 2 (out of 3) Original Russian Auto sprouted and seem ok. One of the O.R.A. actually sprouted, but very week and dry, so I killed it and started germinating a Seedsman Lemon Auto as I had already set up for 5 plants. It's in water since yesterday, I'll transfer it to paper towel at noon.
As I come to the end of the first week since they've sprouted, I believe all girls are growing nice and smooth. Weather finally got a bit cooler where I live (most of the days I got 32º C for more than 5 hours a day) and this will keep going for the next 7 days at least. I'm not using ferts, will start doing it next time I water them, which I believe will happen in 3 or 4 days.
So far so good and I'm pretty happy with that! :)
Two weeks now and so far so good. I've just topped them up from 4th nodes. Also started feeding them with fert from Flowermind. They look healthy and growing fine. I'm looking forward to start training them soon. :)
As it's my second time growing cannabis, which during the pandemic became therapeutical) I decided I am experimenting a bit. This week I:
- defoliated most of my plants, except for the youngest (Lemon Auto). I'll do nothing but feeding it, want to check how it grows and also try to compare techniques and the different impacts on the results;
- started training some of them.
- I also transferred one of the plants to a bigger vase, which is something that I find very difficult to master. I believe I was successful though.
I'm keeping using the organic Fert from Flowering 2ml/1l of water) and so far plants are developing pretty well.
Hey! Good news here. All plants showed sex a week ago (week 4, which I skipped journaling due to work and pandemic and life), and except for one Purple Punch and the youngest one, Lemon, the others started flowering. I'm a bit apprehensive for the lack of flowers of the Purple Punch, but at least it's a girl. As plants got bigger, they also got thirstier and hungrier, so I increased the amount of water and fert.
But as nothing is perfect... One of the Russian Originals showed Hermie signs. At first I thought of killing the plant, but as there were only 2 look-like-polen-sacs, I plucked them and kept the plant. I'm monitoring it everyday and I hope I won't regret de decision.
I'm so sorry I haven't been journaling as much as I'd like to. Weeks have been busy, pandemic is getting worse, work has been demanding, time has been scarce.
Plants have reached the 7th week, 3rd (or would it be the 4th?!) of flowering. I'm amazed with this cicle (it's my second), with how they are growing beautifully, healthy-looking and with an inviting smell.
Original Russian plants are more advanced, Purple Punches are growing well, but I believe they are slower.
I believe I'll be harvesting in two weeks. Can't wait to do it!
