The magnificent seven, Germinated twelve, eight broke soil, one had rooting problem, used year long compost and 15 year sawdust compost with Fox Farms sea bed and generic company organic compost. Using a 600 watt Metal Halide, will switch to 600 watt High Pressure Sodium for flowering. Thinking about using the 13 off 11 on technique.
I started noticing some cupping and canoeing over the last week. This week I also topped 7 of these honeys to kick start my branching. I felt like some of the cupping and a little bit of browning on some tips was from the heat of the lamp, brought it down to 75% on the balist and they seem to be doing batter but some damage is already done. I know it's not nitrogen burn as I haven't really messed with nutrients besides the starting mix. Pretty sure some canoeing in the top leaves is that "Kush Canoe" from the Bubba Kush which is otherworldly mixed with the high set Indica leaves.
After topping last week all seven sisters have been bushing out. Little bit longer on the branches and I'll start LST. I found turning the ballast down to 75% helped with the burn and canoeing... too much proximity heat. now I crank it to 100% 3 hours to mimic high noon... thy seem to dig it. Haven't set my heart on any nutrient solutions yet. Looking at Fox Farms, might start whipping up my own "Organic Tea" with my compost pile I've built over the last year. So far things are lovely.
I have dropped the ladies to the floor in which I cranked the light back up to 100%. I added nutrients this week, I was slightly sketched since they were doing fairly well but know they will need it being at 5 weeks. still see some canoeing and ripple in some of the leaves. two it's predominate on and I believe it's genetic. Was on the borderline about flowering seeing as it's my first grow in decades and would love a new strain after this one, but I have enough space to take these girls to the limit so I'm going for it.
Still going strong. did a little trim today to let light to new branches. Seriously thinking about going to flower here soon..... Thinking a 48 off to start and 13 off 11 on.... getting stoked.
