First grow (separating the photosensitives from the autos in this diary) for learning purposes, meaning I'll be topping, fimming, LSTing, HSTing, defoliating ... all without a clue in the world.
That's when the problems started - autos (other diary) potted up, humidity increased massively, all plants start sweating profusely and stop eating (and growing).
I chopped the smaller 2 of the Special Kush #1, they just weren't growing. And having been left with only 3 plants in the nursery I decided to move them to the cabinet as well.
None of them have started showing sex yet! I'm blaming the 1-2 lost weeks.
Hindsight: they weren't growing probably because of a combination of factors: low temp, high humidity, and ... fungus gnats!
Apologies for the blurple, this was a temporary LED fixture in the cabinet I moved them to.
I've changed pot size to 1L under Grow Conditions, but half of them are still in pints. I'm not sure I even want to pot them up, they're meant to become bonsai mums if they survive.
Some pics of the individual plants today. I'm not sure I'll keep any of them as mothers, to be honest. This grow is mainly for learning, and none of those strains I feel particularly strongly about (none of them is a Haze, for example). But who knows? Maybe. I'll see in a few months.
Potted up. And into soil. Running out of space, but have a contingency plan for that.
Edit: added better pics (or so I hope) of what I fear might be a male pre-flower.
Is that a male pre-flower on that 5th picture? You can see 2 nodes there, lower node and upper node. Upper node is showing female pre-flowers, but what is that wee thing on the right half of the lower node? It's the stalk-y thing that confuses me.
All that time that bag seed was a male :( I even took 4 cuttings from it because it was my first plant. I'm devastated here.
On the bright side, the remaining five plants have mostly started their flowering stretch, I think.
Should I defoliate that 8-top Critical (the bigger of the two plants in 9L pots)?
I feel it's getting very bushy and leaves getting in the way of light for bud sites. How would you go about defoliating it?

I'd definitely defoliate. All you want to do is take off the fan leaves that are blocking the bud sites, a few at a time. You could do a couple today and then a couple more tomorrow so you don't stress your plant out too much. If you're stuck have a look at my diary (stardawg & girl scout cookies) You'll see how big she is just from me defoliating and some LST. You just want more light going through your plant, penetrating the canopy more. If you need to, just shoot me a message and I'll walk you through. Should be easy enough though. I'm such a doof. I left the flowering tent open over night ... talk about a light leak!
I've put them on a >12h darkness period the moment I noticed it, and now that they're disturbed already anyway I'm using the opportunity to switch their light cycle to have "noon" at midnight instead - might help with those temps which have been reaching 30 the past few days. They're back to around 25 now, but as soon as we get more of those warmer days again they'll be back up there unless I do something about it.
Fattening up. Not much to report, they seem happy. I suppose I could play with some parameters, like nutes, lamp height etc., but I think I'll just leave them to do their thing for now.

One exception: the Special Kush has a weird thing going on with her sugar leaves - it's not in the buds, it's not on the fan leaves, it's only the sugar leaves.
What is going on with the Special Kush? Check out her sugar leaves - and it's only on them, it's not in the buds and it's not on the fan leaves. Deficiency? The other plants don't have it. Some kind of fungus? I removed all leaves that had it, and it returned on the other leaves.
When weird leaf symptoms appear the first suspect is wrong pH, and since you are not giving any info about measuring pH or adjusting, my guess would be some lockout due wrong pH.
Second, you are not telling how often you are feeding, or what is the EC/PPM of your feeds; my second take is some kind of nutrient excess, I suspect minor potassium excess (toxicity) which in turn locks out many other elements.
Try to flush and give just water for a week and tell us how it goes.
This is a very pleasant strain to grow, I think - neither of my two plants gave me any serious trouble, whether in LST or mainlining. Again, as pointed out in the auto grow from the same month, this was my first attempt at growing living things, and I'm glad it didn't turn out entirely catastrophic. Good genetics help!
