Moved 6 plants into 5 gallon fabric pots in flower buckets and left one in the propagator as it was the weak and I didn’t have a spare pot. Don’t have a fan yet either. They are growing fast though and it all looks promising so far

Starting using canna terra vega at half dose on all 7 plants. All 6 in the pots looking great but the plant in the propagator had a rough time. More work to do and hopefully the last one can be saved but things are going very well overall

The flower are getting bigger at an increasing rate each day. I attempted to manage the growth by using poles and garden wire to spread the branches to create a more even canopy. On the smaller one on the front left I decided to play about with low stress training by bending and tying at a 90 degree angle. The rest were already too big to try this and the stems would have broke. The soil in the last pot was too rich and I accidentally used too much miracle grow to try help it catch up to the rest (my bad, I know). I thought it was an issue the plant but when I placed the plant from the propagator in the soil in nearly died overnight. To resolve this and attempt to save the plants I flush the soil thoroughly and then just used only water for this pot.

Using nutrients at the recommended rate now up from half dose. The photos are from the beginning of the week when I put in the second fan. I did put in a small one to cool the hps light as it was producing too much heat. This wasn’t doing enough and I wanted a fan to blow the plants to help build up the strength of the stems. The 4 to the right are all doing well and show loads of improvement each week. The one on the front left is also doing great and growing well at its own rate. The two in the pot together are surviving but still taking their time to recover.

Took this picture very late in the week so quite a few days since the last picture. And also I forgot to mention last week I added as additional light. It’s a viparspectra led 600w timer series. I figure to achieve the yield I desired the 600w hps would be insufficient. The second light should help boast yields. Should be interesting to see how the led compares to the hps. The progress on all the plants have been brilliant and huge improvements over last week. Even the smaller 2 have fully bounced back and have grown dramatically. Really happy with them and surprised at their ability to recover, I did have my doubts but with due care they showed their resilience. I did start feeding them canna terra vega starting at a quarter dose last week up to half this week. I gave up on attempting to lst and manage the canopy spread last week as I didn’t have time to keep up maintenance. Also added a co2 bag to the tent to see if I could encourage more growth. Will update it I noticed any difference. I would have liked to measure if it actually improved co2 levels but I didn’t have the equipment.

The first 3 pictures are from the start of the week and the last 2 are from the end. The plants have been growing a lot and have really filled out the tent and taken up most of the floor space. The fan had to be moved to avoid hitting the plants. This isn’t ideal but hopefully this doesn’t affect the plants negatively. As they have filled out the space I decided to initiate flowering. I put them in 24 hours of darkness at the end of the week before switching to 12/12. Haven’t noticed any difference from the co2 bag and don’t think it helped the plants in any way. I have noticed that the plants under the hps have been growing bushier, I’m guessing that’s down to the higher wattage.

These pictures were taken at the end of the week after I had trimmed the lower growth. It wasn’t getting much light as the plants were too bushy. This also helped to create enough space to place the fan on the floor to help air circulation, keep air temps down and strength the branches. The nutrients have also been switch over to canna terra Flores as it’s now the flowering stage. To be cautious and not ruin my work I started off at half the recommended dose to see how they react. But so far so good As it was so crowded I moved the pot with 2 plants in to another grow. This left the 5 strongest plants and gave them a bit more space to breath and also make it easier to place the fan in an effective position. Buds have started to form on the upper growth and is slowly working its way down. This has led me to notice that the breaches are a bit weak and struggle even hold the weight of the small buds that are currently visible. Due to this I won’t be planning on move them around and taking them out of the grow anymore. The walls of the tent help keep them upright and as they are close together they also support each other. Although I would of preferred stronger branches I won’t think this will affect yield too badly. I should also mention the plants under the hps are still bushier than the ones under the led. As I don’t plan on rotating it should also be a good test to see what each plant yields based on what light they got the majority of their energy from. Also throughout the grow humidity has been quite high usually between 70% to 90%. I figured this would cause issues during flowering and wouldn’t be ideal for the plants. I added a passive dehumidifier (hanging wardrobe dehumidifier bag) to help solve this. Although I was sceptical at first I have really been proven wrong as it took humidity levels down to around 40% on average. This is better than I ever expected and exactly what I was aiming for at this stage. And just to mention by moving the fan to the floor it brought the temps that were slowly rising past 32°c down to 27 and managed to maintain this consistently throughout the day

These were taken at the end of the week. Things are still looking great and the buds are forming quickly and beginning to fatten up. I have started using canna boost accelerator to help, it’s meant to improve yields and tastes and at least for the former I can say the buds have been fattening a lot faster so I’m excited to see final yields. I have started this with a half dose as I’m testing the waters, I also used a bit less Flores as I noticed a bit of nutrient burn on one of the plants. I did give plain water for this plant to help saturate the nutrients. All 5 are definitely looking promising but can clearly see the difference between the plants under each light. The ones under the led have been a lot slower to develop but I hope this doesn’t become too much of an issue. Also I forgot to mention I had to move the carbon filter outside the tent as the plants were too tall and the filter prevented me from moving the lights up further. I didn’t expect the plants to get so tall but in hindsight this could have been down to heat stress or incorrect light distancing or even just genetics. Hopefully they slow down vertical growth soon as they are pushing the limits of the space.

Forgot to take proper pictures this week but I do have pictures of one of the plants under the led. Have seen the buds clearly, even as one of the smaller plants it is being to built a nice frosty coating around the colas. I am hoping this means the bud will be extra potent and is exciting to see. Will show better photos next week. Also to note i did a lot of defoliation as I haven’t really been able to reach in and it was long overdue. This is why I remove the plant, it allowed me to better access the plants at the back and defoliate properly. I had considered leaving and just pick the leaves up as they fall but I was worried about this causing issues so it was good to do it thoroughly. I have been able to maintain humidity levels quite consistently but temps have been more of than issue. It’s been cold recently so temps at night can be as low as 15°c but usually not lower than 17°c but during the day it will usually hit 29/30°c. I’m hopefully this isn’t gonna cause issues as I don’t fancy buying a second fan so late in the game. I think it should be sufficient until the end of this grow. The branches are still quite weak but it hasn’t stop being fattening up the buds so I’m not concerned. Haven’t increased the nutrients dosage as it doesn’t seem needed and I figure it will do more harm than good right now.

The plants are really looking beautiful this week, the colas are getting decently big and super frosty. Things are looking promising and I am excited to try this bud. Not sure how many weeks are left on this grow but it looks like it’s definitely gonna be worth it. Although I should mention that we do have a possible issue arising, I noticed small yellow spots and yellow tips on some leaves. Just in case it was something bad I removed infected leaves to be safe as I was unsure about what it could be. Incidentally I run out of Flores this week so decided to be doubly safe and just watered with a half dose of boost accelerator whilst I waited for the new bottles of Flores to arrive. This was also I good semi flush and should help remove the excess nutrients. I did this for about 4 days before going back to a half dosage of both Flores and boost. The tent is still a bit hot but seems manageable. I did have to mess around with light placement as some colas maximum the height of the tent so we’re getting light burn. Wasn’t severe and was caught early. Should be noted it seemed more of an issue under the led, I wonder if this is just a coincidence or something to noted. This is about as far as the grow got so the rest of the weeks will be real-time, follow to keep up to date.
