Wine like stains on stems

I’m reposting this because I have more details. Hope that’s allowed. These plants are near the end of flower and developed purple wine like splotches on the stems. It doesn’t seem to go onto the leaves. Does this look normal or is it genetics (Guava x Gelato 41), rot, etc?
