m0useanswered grow question 3 days ago Organic PH additives are w/e... just get whats available and cheep. PH down and UP are all just acids or bases, -OH or +H reactions. Some are strong and more aggressive, others a weaker and more gentle. Eg citric acid is a PH of 3ish, but it won't eat your hand off if you dipped it in a solution hell we eat that stuff on candy. However a hydrochloric acids solution would fuck you up. granted its not just that simple. temperatures and concentration matter.
Vinegar, citric acid powder, citrus juices, Honestly the organic shit on growers is a bit wishy washy.
I grow with organic amendments, I don't use them because they are organic, I grow with them because I like amendments vs salt based fertilizers.
My PH down is 80% phosphoric acid and I also have a dry powered citric/malic acid blend I can add in, I also have some vinegar in the shelf I can use. They will all work well. some have some added benefits, phosphoric acids adds in phosphorous to the grow where as vinegar and critic do not. Organic meaning their is Carbon in the molecular structure, Citric and vinegar would be an "organic" acid based solely on the fact they have Carbon in them.
I made a pineapple vinegar the other week and used it outdoors on my garden it was nice, Fermented the pineapple cores I was not eating into water with a bit of mother from ACV. and let it go.
