Trichomes do not discriminate, although we like to think of trichomes' primary purpose as being to get us high; they are there to provide photoprotection (sunscreen). Trichomes apply themselves based on area dimensions; the more area = the more trichomes in order to protect. Different from density: Trichomes, the resinous glands on plants, are often produced in response to stress, including high light intensity. This increased production can lead to denser trichome coverage on the plant, stress, stress, stress, stress is the signal. There is a certain beauty in watching the large water-filled buds once swollen to the brim slowly shrink during drying, as the surface areas contract, the trichomes just cluster up to form denser and denser coatings, already dense from high light intensities, UVB exposure, and IPS, and every other stressor I could tweak. Trichomes, the resinous glands on cannabis plants, are often produced in response to various forms of stress. These stresses can be environmental, like excess light(HIL) or UV-B radiation, temperature fluctuations, or drought, or mechanical, such as wind, pruning, or even the weight of the plant's own buds. The plant reacts to these stressors by increasing trichome production as a defensive mechanism to protect itself and its valuable compounds like THC and CBD. In essence, cannabis plants perceive stress as a threat and respond by producing more trichomes as a way to protect themselves and their valuable compounds. Several studies have shown this. Not so much a "master" grower as a master of stress. Psssst. Trichomes fill with "antioxidants," including THC. Ant"ox"idants, The production of antioxidants in plants is intricately linked to their oxidative apparatus. The plant has limited oxidative capacity/apparatus. During daytime photosynthesis, a large percentage of that oxidative capacity is tied up in protecting the plant. During the night, plants alter their metabolic pathways. This leads to a far more focused production of specific antioxidants, like THC. Plants also produce antioxidants during the day to scavenge ROS made from photosynthesis. The differential ROS production by blue and IR light can have significant biological consequences. For example, high levels of ROS induced by blue light can lead to cell damage and death, while lower levels of ROS produced by IR light may be involved in beneficial cellular signaling pathways. Long nights under the IR (very low ROS), the boost in cellular respiration, and the boost in energy production. In a perfect world, I'd give the plant a shock treatment of 60DLI in 4 hours and give her the other 20 hours to perform cellular respiration under IR. The stress of those 4 hours would be rigorous and full of stress abound, 1800-2000ppm CO2 is easy for a couple of hours during daylight, it's maintaining it that's hard, but 4 hours is very doable with nothing but a little extra "carbon sugar" in your medium every other night during the first 4 weeks of flower. In my opinion, you only need to jack CO2 for those first 4 weeks of flower to see maximal output, after that it's all about trichome preservation, everything else comes second. Without the temps to assist with metabolism, CO2 is reduced to normal levels along with temps 4-5th week of flower. Buds are primarily composed of water. Developing flower buds, like other plant tissues, require a significant amount of water for growth and turgor pressure, which helps maintain their structure and firmness. Turgor pressure in plant cells is primarily generated by osmosis, but transpiration plays a crucial role in maintaining it. The optimal internal leaf surface temperature for photosynthesis at 1800-2000ppm CO2 is likely in the upper range of 97°F, meaning ambient would need to sit at 102°F-ish or thereabout for full metabolic utilization. That's putting your transpirational pulling force x5 x6 maybe x7 of what it would be if she were cruising at 68F. "My buds won't fatten, what can I do!!" Crank it. If your purpose was to blow up a balloon as fast as you can, as much as you can, would you use 2x force or x5 Force to do so? Bad analogy, but you get the idea. Kiss. Optimize photosynthesis & VPD by day, cellular respiration by night. TECHNICALLY: "While transpiration and cellular respiration are both ongoing plant processes, they are not neatly separated into day and night. Both processes occur both day and night, though at different rates and with different emphasis. Transpiration, the release of water vapor from plant surfaces, is primarily driven by sunlight and photosynthesis during the day, but it also continues at a lower rate at night. Cellular respiration, which provides energy for the plant, occurs continuously, both day and night. " A leaf can perform cellular respiration and photosynthesis simultaneously. During daylight hours, plant cells utilize both processes: photosynthesis to produce glucose and oxygen, and cellular respiration to break down glucose and release energy for the cell's needs. The products of photosynthesis (glucose and oxygen) are used as reactants in cellular respiration, while the products of cellular respiration (carbon dioxide and water) can be used in photosynthesis. The limiting factor is the oxidative capacity; the less a leaf is utilizing photosynthesis, the less oxidative capacity it uses, and the more it can perform cellular respiration. Even if a leaf is not in an optimal photosynthetic position, it can still utilize respiration to its full capacity during daylight hours. Kinda too much info to explain when some asks if they should defoliate or not, yeah add calmag or some shit. BUT Only 10% ATP can be processed through photosynthesis and carbon capture. 90% of ATP is processed when the plant's oxidative capacity becomes available (NIGHTTIME). Cellular respiration relies on the process of oxidation to generate energy. Specifically, the final stage of cellular respiration, called oxidative phosphorylation, utilizes oxygen as the final electron acceptor to produce a substantial amount of ATP, the cell's primary energy currency. Factors such as oxygen concentration, glucose availability and temperature will all impact the amount of aerobic respiration an organism will perform. See you next grow, *twiddles thumbs*

On cruise control, just giving 2gallons of ph balanced water every 2-3 days. For the first time I am experiencing white mold/powder. Also first time using scrog and filling out the tent like this. To battle - put an additional fan on the top of the canopy and increased carbon filter to 100% vs 60%. During day leaving bottom flap open for good air exchange - close it when lights are going off. Plants are starting to produce lots of trichomes, I am happy usually I see trichome development a little later. Girls are still stretching - I am noticing the buds are starting to fatten up as well. The smell is amazing , super strong hints of citrus. As I am addicted to Oranges and obsessed with pine sol, this is ok with me :). I love the citrus smells- it is one of the main reasons I got these seeds. I am really noticing a difference in the quality of plant I am getting when growing good seeds vs random clones or seeds. Very resilient and able to recover from anything I've done to her. They all basically look the same at this point. Plant 4 popped a day later so it’s a little smaller. At day 12 I sprinkled some great white shark around each plant. And added just 1 tsp of green harvest bone meal.

Magic Melon is taller and has grown faster since the first week, now it's buds are growing twice as fast as the Super Silver Haze. Lights are 12 inches from top of buds.

Last week, my pound cake auto plant totally exploded with growth! It's insane how much it's changed. I swear it grew several inches overnight. The leaves are this gorgeous shade of green, and the whole thing looks super healthy and happy. I'm seriously so proud of my little plant baby.

Low yeild for 15 week cycle but it is what it is. I'm certain it would have been amazing if I'd have gave it everything I had. Grownn in a 2x2 and was neglected. Was only watered a handful of times and gave nutrients even less. Low yeild but wasn't too bothered as this was just a novelty grow for me and didn't really need the yeild from it.

Plants started growing very fast. 20 hours light a day and 140 ml water for 2 plants so 35 ml each plant. (70ml -35ml one plant- morning, and 70ml -35ml one plant evening). From Monday I will start giving 200ml water 100ml in the morning and then the rest in the evening. Ventilation almost 24 hours, They are getting bushy and the color looks healthy green. I am excited. Purple Punch ( the right one) does not have the smell but the Gelato Cookie D'ohpe started smelling from the 3rd week, it is not strong, it is smooth, enjoyable. I still use trigger spray but I stopped triggering directly on the plant to avoid any fungee or toxicity, I just keep the soil moist. I surrounded them with kitchen foil around the lamp to have a more effective light. It reflects the light and the light goes everywhere. This step has been done because I have only the 60w LED each plant so I try to provide the maximum strength this way, and by keeping close distance also. The lamp is not hot so it ain't gonna burn the plant I had checked it before. I just purchased today a 600w LED because these plants look so good so I wanna provide the best circumstances for them. 4th-week 4th day I a just waiting for my delivery my 600 W grow LED light will come. From today I started watering with 50ml each plant 2 times a day so all together 200ml a day. Plus I always use trigger spray for the soil to be kept wet. They are looking better and better. Nice color and bushy appearance. Wonderful. I realized some holes on the Gelato Cookie D'ohpe's leaf but there is no insect I was checking. I do not really know the reason for that. Tonight I will set up the new 600 W LED so I am changing the current 120W. Big Step forward! It is not that easy that I thought, the lamp is great but the temperature raised up a lot, so needed to buy a fan also and the humidity went down. It is not easy to find the proper solution to be acceptable, good temperature and humidity at the same time. So I decided to program a 6/2 schedule, so 6 hours light on and the fan always with 15 min more, and 2 hours off so I do provide 18 hours light and 6 hours darkness but it is divided. The plants can rest after every six hours and use the energy they received. Last day of the 4th week, LST has been done with the Gelato Cookie D'ohpe, both are growing rapidly, let's see what the 5th week brings! End of he week Gelato Cookie D'ohpe is 25cm, Purple Punch is 20cm😇

Its been 2wks since last update had the flu.😷hope you enjoyed video. Look at those roots! She is looking great. 02/08/2018 Fed grow micro bloom + rhino skin. Light defoliation next week switch to overdrive in place of rhino skin, for next 3 weeks then flushing begins with distilled water,till leaves fade and trichomes turn 20% amber.

Day 57: Today I defoliated all the plants again. It wasn't much on the Tropical Marker, but I had to remove quite a bit from the other two because they're growing very bushy. I also wove the shoots further into the net. I think it's turning out really well. I also watered the Tropical Marker and the Purple Kush with 2 liters of water each with fertilizer and a pH of 6.3. I set the light to 80%. The Tropical Marker's flower is getting bigger and bigger! Day 58: Not much new has happened; they've enjoyed the defoliation and more light. All the girls are preaching to the light. I've also woven some shoots further into the net. Day 59: Hey guys, the plants look great! The Purple Kush and Pink Gelato are starting to stretch more. The buds are slowly forming. Today, I watered all three plants with 2 liters of water. I added 5 ml of Hes-Bio-Bloom and 1 ml of Bio-Bizz-Calmag to the water per liter. Then, I increased the pH to 6.4 with bio-bizz-up. Here and there, I weaved some shoots further into the net.

they are all thriving, growing exactly as i want them to. sucking up everything i give them and they are on daily feeds. some of the autos are starting to flower, but im gonna stretch out veg for atleast another 4/5days for photoperiods. they are ranging in height between 45 and 75cm. west coast OG auto from fastbuds been the tallest at the mo. dinafem cookie strains showing preflowers now and everything going fine. no problems as of yet in the slightest. daily updates.

Week 2 · VEG (12/12 from Seed) We are now in Week 2 of VEG for Lemon Cherry Gelato, still running 12/12 from seed, and development is unfolding exactly as expected for this approach. At this stage, the plants remain compact and relatively small, which is completely normal. The focus right now is clearly below the surface, with energy being directed toward root development rather than top growth.
