Week 9: Transitioning and Training The Durban Poison photoperiods are officially settling into their long-term homes and showing some impressive vigor. After the successful transplant into the 25-gallon fabric pots, the root systems are clearly enjoying the extra breathing room. This week is all about managing that explosive growth and setting a solid foundation for the structure of the plants. #Environmental Conditions Location: Outdoor Deck Climate: High plains (Variable temperatures and shifting winds) Sunlight: Full sun (approx. 14+ hours of daylight) Garden Updates & Maintenance The focus this week has shifted from recovery to Low Stress Training (LST). Given how tall this Sativa-dominant landrace can get, keeping the canopy managed is a priority.Train: Implementing a DIY bamboo trellis system. I’m gently pulling the main branches outward to encourage lateral growth and ensure better airflow through the center of the plant. Irrigation: The dual-timer manifold is up and running. The custom-drilled hoses are delivering a consistent soak, which is crucial as the Colorado sun starts to intensify. Nutrients:Sticking with the **FOOP Organic** regimen. The leaves are a deep, healthy green with no signs of transplant shock or nutrient burn. Pest Management: The **African Marigolds** are positioned as sentinels around the fabric bags. So far, the companion planting is doing its job—no signs of mites or aphids. Observations The nodal spacing is starting to stretch slightly, which is expected for Durban Poison. The stalks are thickening up nicely, becoming sturdy enough to handle the afternoon gusts. Plans for Week 10 * Continue adjusting the ties on the LST setup. * Monitor for any early signs of "the stretch."

Some are stretching up so tall that I might have to get creative in the coming weeks! Fruit production is well underway, and it’s absolutely amazing to watch the canopy fill out as these girls reach their potential. Having a blast sharing more content lately—I’m in the zone with editing and creating, so get ready for even more shares! 🌡️ Environmental Control and Fine-Tuning the Reservoir pH Temps this week have been holding around 27.2°C with RH at 65.2% and CO2 at 800 ppm, creating a VPD of 1.26 for ideal flower development. The lighting intensity is at 833 PPFD, and the solution in the reservoir is fine-tuned to a pH of 6.22, EC of 475, with a temp of 21.8°C. Let’s talk pH in the reservoir: it’s a dynamic process, and I’m constantly adjusting it to keep everything at the right level. The pH tends to rise throughout the week, and each day, I work it back down, fine-tuning it to keep those plants happy and balanced. Managing pH is truly a hands-on job, and it’s worth every moment. I love staying on top of it for optimal nutrient uptake—it’s all about consistent effort and keeping that perfect range dialed in. Leaf Maintenance & Selective Defoliation These leaves are HUGE and gorgeous, creating a lush canopy that’s nearly too perfect! I’ve been taking a few leaves here and there, focusing on leaves that may be blocking light from reaching lower parts of the plant. Selective defoliation at this stage is key because it opens up airflow and allows light to penetrate deep, boosting energy distribution across the whole plant. Big, healthy leaves mean we’re getting excellent photosynthesis, but a gentle, strategic defoliation can guide that energy toward those developing buds. Week 5 of flower. There are some little problems with the plant... I am guessing some salt buildup so I flushed the plant and continue to feed afterwards. She is looking very sticky and the smell is amazing! This will be a good one if the buds are decent in the end! 😶‍🌫️

*****Week 13 growth – March 6 to 12, 2021 – Week 5 flower ****** These Mimosa girls are looking very well. Pheno 1 is going to be awesome to trim......very little leaf. As she matures the second pheno is looking better all the time as well. Buds are swelling and getting taller. Bud Fusion being introduced this week. Into the last phase of feeding during flower now. Nitrogen is continued to be reduced as its late flower. Keeping up the feeding ppm this week as we are getting to the end. May be pushing them a little more than I should but finding out how they react for next run. Still continuing to play with the light intensity and seeing how the girls react to my environment conditions when pushed harder. Could have backed off and stayed with 100, 300, 600, 900 PAR levels at the different stages but I have trying to go a little higher in the late stages and going over 1,000 PAR. Little more detail….. Dieser Durchgang ist nicht mein schönster ( besonders die Special Kush) aber ich denke das ich trotzdem eine schöne hochwertige Ernte haben werde und verzichte jetzt auch auf großes entgegensteuern mit irgendwelchen Nährstoffen. Week 8 of flowering: Managed with only water this week. It's noticeable that this is a slightly slower strain: it's maturing slowly, with compact buds turning golden hues. The aroma is old-school, earthy-sweet, very promising.

July 12: Sunday Punch EV is definitely the star plant this year. Very impressive grower and is doing great. Force flowering by putting in dark garage for 10 h per night plus using far red light at dusk. Far red light puts plant into dark mode two hours faster so its like having a 26 h day. This is a great trick if you have daily access to tour plant. Added a 1:1 mix of malted barley and Power Bloom. I had added barley a few days ago, but those sprouted, and then I remembered that its supposed to be malted barley. Removed the barley and replaced with malted barley. July 13: obviously stretching even after just the first night of force flowering. She seems really good. July 15: still stretching.

So, In the End of Week 11 we have harvested two of three Sensi Skunks. In the End of week 12 we harvested the last one (Sensi Skunk 2, day 83). In Total we had around 130g of trimmed wet buds from the three plants: – Sensi Skunk 1 30g wet buds – Sensi Skunk 2 40g wet buds – Sensi Skunk 3 63g wet buds Placed the trimmed buds in a dry net and dried them vor around 4-6 days before placing them in jars and ventilating them regularly. for now it seems to be around 25g in dry buds. Had hoped for a little more, but it was really bad weather so we think it's okay. smell is really nice! For next year, we have learned and will make things a little different. – will start way earlier in the year for more sunshine and better weather – pots were way to big, none of the plants needed so much space for their roots – next year will try 10l – maybe we will start different nutrient company. any suggestions? All around this was a very fun project! Loved how the plants looked and miss them already. The smell of the dry buds is already really nice and we are looking forward to test it. will update then!

Strong baby! Lady Jealousy was in the vegetative phase for 7 weeks and is now in her 4th week of flowering - wow, that's really remarkable! No automatic before, was like her. At the beginning of this week, I have been fighting the gnats, which are less and less now. Just some watering and gradually lowering the light and going to full power. The Orange Hill Special has been filling out great and I must say, she is a pretty plant. With some manual bending and super cropping, I'm bending the longer stalks sideways and we are off. What I actually do is more of an intuitive hybrid between mainlining (where I bend the whole plant 90 degrees at the third week), LST (where I bend branches outward slightly, without tying), HST / Super crop (where I bend the stems 90 degrees with the clips or manually), after which I keep bending outward to SOG and, put the net over to end in SCROG. This same method gave me the canopy in my prize-winning Gelato 33 grow. Check it out if you haven't seen it, it was my first experimental accident that led to beta test of Super Soil mixture 0.7, now we are at Alpha version 1.00 and testing great so far if I say so myself. I haven't seen such lush greens in my own grows, only outdoor. They seem uber-healthy and resilient, with very sturdy stems and leaves. Way more resilient than previous strains I tested in the beta soil. The light is performing, the natural color of it makes everything pop. Mars Hydro has a winner with the SP-3000. Halfway through this week, I took the clips out, AND...... we switched them to go into flowering. After a day the stretch is already visible. I had to bend them again after a couple of days. Now we have almost a tent filling foundation for a maximum result canopy of buds. I was wanting to amend the soil with flowering additions (see recipe in yellow image), but I'm holding it off for two reasons. A/ The leaves are still so green and lush, I think there is an abundance of nutes. B/ @Haoss mentions his suspicions on his OHS grow (@#CannapediaProGrowersCup Orange Hill that very sadly went hermie on him) that nutrition in this phase could have had an influence, after asking what happened to him. I would have loved to see that grow to full harvest. But it makes me a bit cautious. if Haoss (whom I consider to be one of the star growers here) couldn't prevent this, what chance have I? I'm waiting until the girls start asking for nutrients. They'll show me what they need in their own time. For now this soil is the shizzle (also quite literally) and Im happy with how everything is going. I remember much more hassle and steering in the last grow. This grow, even the Gorilla runt seems happy. I now water them 3 liters of water / Perma tea mixture every 4 days, every 3rd watering I don't do the tea. This makes for fewer gnats and this soil seems to hold water nicely, also due to the hydro corn. What I like is there is always some unforeseen circumstance, a tilt of the tables, some battle to be fought which delivers in big harvests or, in worst case, no harvest at all. It makes it more exciting, when your heart is at stake, we pour a lot of love and attention in the ladies. So with hopes, but not too high, we go into flowering. Just recorded a video this week. Nothing has changed. They are vibing with some bigger sisters. Some plain water is sprayed every other day. The first seeds that popped were transplanted to a bigger container and some others already popped
