As a new grower I was really unsure when to put them outside after they showed through the soil. I searched and searched and read conflicting advice, thanks to this website I think I have saved myself from ruining them completely by being able to ask questions to experienced growers :) Realised i should not have used the plastic cups as the roots need to be always in the dark, but as only been 3 days they should be fine now that i have transferred them...we will see! Out of the 5 germinated seeds, 3 were potted on the 28th and popped through soil on the 29th, 1 was potted on the 29th and popped through on the 30th, and one still hasn't popped through the soil and so it is still indoors in the dark. For the first 2 days that i could put them in the sun, I had read that they should be gradually exposed to the sun, for example 3 hours the first day, then adding an hour each day until after a week they can stay all day in the sun. Then i checked this info by asking questions on here as i really did not want to ruin them, and i am taking the advice of a grower with 35+ experience, which is that as soon as they show through the soil, they can go outside. So now (from day 3) from 9am-5pm they have the sun :) I am going to bring them all indoors tonight, last night was only about 15ºC and really quite windy. I have also asked for advice about this so see if anyone has had this experience that can hep me :)

Am I right to understand that i do not need to put any nutrients in the water until my plants are about 3 weeks old? I have BioBizz on standby for when the time is right (BioGrow, BioBloom, and TopMax). Any advice from growers that are familiar with these products? Thanks x

I think it would depend on your soil. If it has it then you would wait. I use fox farm happy frog and I usually don't add any nutes until the end of veg if I veg 2+ months. And autos are usually sensitive to them so go light.

With Autoflowers that is about correct but it depends on what substrate you use to grow them. When growing in soil, you should be fine without nutrients until flower. That is unless the plant starts to tell you otherwise, eg. Lower leaves start to yellow, deficiencies appear, etc. When growing in soiless mediums like coco coir you will need to feed from the get go, lightly but much more frequently. Autoflowers in general don’t like nutrients as much compared to photo period strains. Of course that varies from genetic to genetic but is a common trend among autos.

9th April - It's been a week since they first went outside into the sun and i am so nervous! I started out with 5 seeds, one did not take after germination, it just did not appear through the soil, another had appeared through the soil but on the same day i took these photos, it still had it´s shell on super tight and by later in the day it had totally drooped down into the soil, so out of the 5 seeds, only 3 successful sprouters!! Better than none! One seems to have white tips, another is going a paler green colour, and the other looks good (still got a bit of its shell stuck on the leaf but i won't touch it). Searched for possible reasons i have white tips and the pale green colour, concluded i may have watered a bit too much and need to re-check the ph of my water and the run off. Turns out the water is reading at 6.5 almost 7, so definitely need to understand what to do straight away so i don't ruin them!!!

So on day 7 of my plants being outside and realising i needed to drop the ph immediately, i went with the natural solution of adding white vinegar to the water. Mainly as i can't spend any money at the moment to go to the shop for a bottle of ph down, and also as i do want to grow them as naturally as possible.... So two days later, today is day 9 and into the second week, you can see the photo, i think they do look better already but honestly not sure what else i can do and really don´t want to ruin them! I will have to make sure not to water to often and keep a close eye on them! Any advice very welcome!
