Papi62034 So, this is my second grow. I once again did not write down the date but I am thinking that it might not matter that much since my last grow was ready 3 weeks “late”. anyway, I am growing the Sour D and I am hoping to do better than the last time which I am not sure if I did well or not since I just harvested that one. The main approach here is “simple” so I am using the “pot for pot” 5 gallon grow kit. This is what I used with my first grow and the plant didn’t die so I am trying this again. This approach allows me to just add water and a flower booster chemical they call out during the flowering stage. I will probable will be looking at the Trichomes to determine when to harvest since that seems to be the real indicator and not the calendar. Here goes nothing... So i made a mistake and I have planted a feminized plant and NOT an auto flower not sure what this will do, but the plant is already looking big

Some like to work their way up to their final home. I put them to their final home as soon as my roots fill my cups. You can put yours into the final home or work your way up now. Your good to go. Just make sure the next dirt or coco has the proper ph range before you replant. Cheers

Papi62034 So I really have no clue about what I am doing but here goes nothing. I made a mistake and ordered feminized and NOT autoflower so I have no idea what to do. I will read about it or ask here I am sure I will get some good info. I just transplanted the plant to the 5 gallon bucket and it is growing like a weed ;)

I thought this Sour Diesel was an auto flower but it is not. It is a feminized and I guess that means it will be bigger (hopefully not too big) and I will have to control the lighting to make it flower? Can anyone give some guidance?

You should be on an 18/6 schedule, so you're already good there. When you want to go to flower, you flip to a 12/12 schedule. Once you flip, you'll be in preflower. The plant will show flowers in a week or so, then really start stretching for the next two weeks. Generally, it grows 2-3 times the size it was when you first flipped. So if you want a 20"-30" plant, flip around 10"-12". If I were you, I would top now if the plant is in a good position for it. Then give it 5-7 days to recover, then flip.

You are literally cutting the top bud off and allowing the 2 chutes underneath it to develop as main buds. It redirects all of the growth from the apical meristem to all the bud sites. Kind of set the plant into panic mode and redirects all the growth. When you do this tho make sure you do it with feeding. Autoflowers some people say it is a bad idea to top. I have done it and really like the results but i will only do it once on autos. Hope i helped.

Papi62034 This plant is getting big. Maybe too big for my little grow space. I thought this was an auto flower but it’s not so this should be interesting. I’m trying to keep track of the weeks but I have not done well there. Mostly because it seems to me that (at least with my first grow the weeks meant nothing but the colors of the trichomes was the real tell so this time I’m waiting for that and not tracking the weeks. Am I wrong?

Papi62034 So. I suck at being a grower and I am even worse at keeping a diary, so apologies. I am starting to settle down with my OCD growing style and have just decided that it will grow what it will grow. Please don't hate on me for this. I am a busy guy with a awesome family so that keeps me extremely busy. I am growing these plants for the same reason that we grow most of our vegetable and fruits, because we like to know where our food comes from and what's in it. Yet with these herbs it is also an economics need. Why pay the ridiculous amounts the dispensaries want when you can grow a years and more worth for the prices of a trip to one of those stores. duh. Anyway, I am hoping this comes out okay. I have improved both my setup and how comfortable I am doing this a bit since starting my first grow (this is my second) since my first gave me lots of stress but turned out AWESOME I am just going to do what I can and see what happens. I am looking forward to the trichomes appearing since I have an awesome microscope that connects to my iPad or phone and it looks amazing ;) Anyway, wish me luck.
