420sulPezzo Hey everyone and welcome to my first diary on this amazing platform. I'm new to the growing world but I'm learning from the more experienced. I've seen a ton of exciting diaries with magnificent plants! I hope to do well here. I come from other Italian forums where the users prefer to criticize every decision you make instead of helping you improve and grow. Here I've already received a lot of help for a clone I'm growing, but I won't be posting it here for other reasons.
I put this seed given to me by a grower whom I had the honor and pleasure of meeting in person. He asked me not to make too many specifications since it's a developing genetic variety. I started by leaving it in water for 24 hours, and today I put it in a damp paper towel as suggested by my mentor. Now I'm waiting for the little root to sprout. If it doesn't come out, I'm ready to receive more seeds and try again.
I've read a bit around and they say that if the seed sinks, it means it's good, so I'm not too hopeful since it had a nice swim at the bottom of the cup. That's all for now, see you soon with more updates.
4/20 the seed I put in hasn't shown any signs of opening, so I had another one set aside just in case, I'm putting it directly in the paper towel with the other one.
4/21 woke up early today and BOOOOM! Two out of two in the end, now I think I might have overdone it xD let's wait for developments. In the meantime, I'm uploading two photos, homemade lamp and fan, for now I'm managing like this, over time I'll improve my equipment and my growing space.
4/22 They are super long, now I'm putting them in the jiffies they gave me and let's wait for the little leaves to sprout.
Any advice is welcome, feel free to leave a comment with suggestions that could improve my growing. Thanks!
4/26 Yesterday while moving the two jiffies, unfortunately one of them broke and I doubt it will recover :( I was very clumsy π
Last Update, for now
Apparently talking to your best friend can lead to a search at home. I didn't have any particular problems, besides the light and the plant still in vegetation there was nothing in the house, I got away with a pretty long lecture accompanied by a lot of boring scolding. If it had been rosemary, no one would have complained. Anyway, watch out for enemies, but even more for friends ;)
420sulPezzo As already mentioned in the first week, I had to close the diary early. They explained to me how to close it properly, so I say goodbye to everyone and will proceed to close it βοΈ
good luck with your grow! As a small tip, you don't have to pre-germinate the seeds when you use soil balls. After swelling the balls, squeeze them out so that they are not too wet, then simply make a 1 cm deep hole with a toothpick or similar. Let the seeds fall in, put soil on top and press down very lightly, done! this saves you time and ensures that the plants do not grow asparagus. (I have had the best experience with this method and the earth balls are also intended for this ;)
@roohypnol,oh, wow, ok ... Next time I'll just try that straight. I wanted to make sure there was the root before putting them in the jiffy but if you don't need it I try to put them directly inside. Thanks ππͺ
