i grew this not long ago and loved it and gorilla cookies auto. i tried to get G.C. from my seed bank and they were out so i got more strawberry pie auto. 10 more. lol. but i am only doing 2 right now.
this is my 1st time using rapid rooters. they was a gift from The Green Sunshine Company. I have been using peat pellets lately so i wanted to give these a try. i like them. they both hatched fine on like day 3 maybe. I soaked the seeds in a shot glass of water for like 6 hours prior to being planted into the little pellet thing. It was on a full moon. I wanted it to be right, ya know, everything. So I waited until the moon was full and then i took the seeds out of the water in the glass and put them into the rapid rooters and the rapid rooters into a little glass. i placed a ziplock bag over top with sprayed water inside. the room temp was 77f day and 68f at night. so i didn't need to heat them myself. just room temp.
i topped my last strawberry pie auto and it stayed short and bushy. the buds were nice and dense ,fat, purple, super frosty, and smelled amazing. Why not try round 2? i wont top these girls. i will just do a LITTLE LST.
i had the purple phenotype last time.
this time i hope i get a purple one and a green one. i think there are 3 main phenotypes for this strain by fastbuds. 2 are green and one is purple. so i got a shot to get both.
ill try and make this good diary.
turn on, tune in, & drop out.
these are just growing fine. same way any other sprout is after hatching. one of the plants. plant 2, it had red leaves at 1st. the serrated leaves was red tint. maybe that's my purple one.
i placed the rooters into the soil on the 30th and there is a pic then and now. doing well. i put some great white in water and watered everything, these 2 included. i will be using aurora root organics dry amendments as top dressing and teas. the soil was fox farms ocean forest soil, with earth dust base added at 3 Tbs per gallon of soil. they are in 4 gallon fabric pots.
everything is on cruise control for a little bit. just some daily watering's. its suggested to do small daily watering's when doing a living soil.
stay tuned in ...
they are both growing well. i cant wait to see the phenotypes i have. i also have 8 more seeds of her. so i want to cross her with jawa pie. make her a little taller and chunkier. i love the scent and looks of these girls in flower.
so far they are both acting the way you expect. i noticed one is slightly smaller than the other.
i also noticed today that one is getting lime green looking. fading to it. i added what nutrients im using. i havent done it yet but i will today. i just am updating all my diaries and i have almost everything done but these girls and a couple other in veg. got all the floweing ones done.
it will probally be easier to just stick to the earth dust because it only requires 3 feedings. the rest of the time its just water, or tea if she needs a boost, but nothing else.
all this nutrient mixing, DRY amendments, its almost as bad as all the liquid nutes i was using before. thats why i started with earth dust. super simple and easy.
i should do a side by side comparison with a stable strain.
well stay tuned to see them bloom.
i took off one or 2 fan leaves total between the 2. i have been just trying to tuck the leaves and push branches down kinda like LST. just pushing them , not binding them yet.
i have lightened up on their water because they arent drinking to fast yet. i have an overwatering issue within myself im trying to fix.
i have seen the pistils growing showing that flowering isnt far off.
stay tuned
so i anchored the main stem down so the dominance of the colas change. i also have been pushing the branches down toward the ground. that tek seemed to work well with the gorilla girl XL autos. these girls are growing so fast. i havent seen any notice of purples yet. hopefully i can get one pheno of purple out of the 2. i only had one plant last time and struck purps.
so far i just take a couple leaves here and there. not much besides that. rotate the pots some.
they officially switched over to flower. pretty fast. i think my last S.P. was finished fast. i liked it enough to order a ten pk last time. so i have 8 more after these 2. whoot whoot. ha.
well stay tuned.
i have been pushing the stems down still and guess what. i broke the main stem and flower off the short strawberry pie auto. the other one is how i wanted them both. taller. well the shorter one was already short and after the accidental topping im sure it will stay short and get bushier. oh well. no signs of purple pheno yet. i wanted one but i just want good flower. i like the taste of purple flowers. it def has a certain taste to it.
these girls are doing great. the one didn't even show it hurt her to top it.. the other has nutrient burn on the tips. at first i thought it was light burn but im positive its from to strong of nutes in the soil.
just on cruise control. i add the top dressing in once a week and it water only besides that. i do add hydroguard to the water and superthrive. its carbon filtered water. aerated and heated to 70.
