Grow Questions

Hi fellow growers, I'm really confused with light schedules for outdoor growing. Everywhere I see 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flowering. However at my place I get ~13hours of daylight (not always sunlight) Would my plants get into flowering if daylight is reduced to ~11 hours?

Ok so it seems you are close to the equator since I am in the middle east we also have less than 16hours of daylight per day at the longest day of summer and I was doing a few things to prevent early flowering when daylight hours were below 14hours per day. However cannabis does not follow the 12-12 system it actually follows the 14-10 system 12-12 is a standard used just to make sure that the plants are responding well to the photoperiod. In other words cannabis has critical day length of 14 hours and going anywhere above or below that will either make the plant more prone to flowering or more prone to vegetation also the transition isn't as black and white. at 13 hrs of daylight per day your plant will flower but it will also vegetate, however it will take much more time to finish (about 100days instead of the standard 50-60 days for indica). Sativas are more sensitive to light and will vegetate with less light per day which will save you ALOTTTT of effort on your part to maintain your growth. Lastly you could install a very small light close to ur plant, any light source above 20 Lumens will interrupt the photoperiod, and turn it on 30 mins in the middle of the night when the plants are most sensitive to light or before you go to sleep this way you split the dark period into 2 and essentially signaling your plant to vegetate. Happy growing!

So I was wondering if outdoor plants(week 2) getting regular sunlight (~12-13 hours) can be shifted indoors for faster growing (18/6 or 24/0 or 20/4)? Anyone tried before? it is safe? Will it cause to make them hermaphrodite?

Sure can, absolutely no problems what-so-ever and it is absolutely safe for both veg and flowering stages. It will not cause anything, except faster growth and will definitely NOT increase any risk of hermaphroditism. 18/6 is optimum. Any more than 18 hours is stressful and can cause problems. 24/0 is totally wrong, un-natural, absolutely wrong, un-healthy, completely wrong and WILL cause all sorts of issues. Nothing on Planet Earth can survive and/or function properly without an awake/sleep/awake/sleep cycle. People who try 24/0, usually only ever try it once!! A cannabis plant needs to sleep and undertake certain metabolic processes during the night cycle to function and grow properly. Without a night cycle you will get a dysfunctional and completely exhausted and frazzled plant. Could you imagine going weeks/months without sleep? Besides, cannabis can only grow so much during any 24 hour period and this growth tops out at about 18 hours, meaning running your lights longer than 18 hours is basically a waste of electricity. Remember - 18/6 is optimum for all cannabis, autos and photoperiod plants in vegetative growth. Think of the 6 hours of "sleep" as 2 hours to recover from the day, 2 hours to rest and 2 hours to get ready for the day ahead. This is basically what occurs during the "sleep" cycle and is vital for prime plant health. A stressed and exhausted plant can not grow prime flowers. Pure and simple! Hope this helps,......... Well, I might know a thing or two (depending), if you want to know about extreme low budget growing (outdoors, any time of year, dealt with many frosts, -6c min temp, 40c max and even significantly higher air temps at places, gale force winds, rains and storms, 6 month droughts, pretty much every pest, including finding snails in marijuana flower heads)....yeah...I've grown like a thousand plants. Remediated this soil (for around 10 dollars): https://media.growdiaries.com/static/post/video/87897/82216_grow-journal-by-sir-isocustomwell-i-dunno-what-it-is-but-i-do-know-one-of-the-plants-is-a-stabilized-tbk-hybdrid_cnv.mp4 A few months later (if you look closely, especially at the end of the video, on the left behind that tree....there's a little young vegetating weed plant): https://media.growdiaries.com/static/post/video/87897/82215_grow-journal-by-sir-isocustomwell-i-dunno-what-it-is-but-i-do-know-one-of-the-plants-is-a-stabilized-tbk-hybdrid_cnv.mp4 Best of luck, feel free to ask questions if you're inexperienced or whatever.
