10 seeds of Pink Kush strain , 100% germ rate in paper towel method. 4 ended up boys and used the strongest one to selective pollinate a nugg on one of my Lemon Haze girls , maybe make some pink lemonade ? the six girls are kicking high.

Sorry for skipping over 6 weeks of veg , ( I forget to take pics , so busy ) but I am old school grower and have always used LST ( staking the top over to the ground ) or HST ( bent it over too far and broke the stalk LOL) to accomplish getting more colas from a plant. I mainlined two of the plants , one of which ended up a male , so I have the one girl to observe . This was my first mainline experimant and I really felt that the shock from the cut set her way behind the other 5 in veg growth. I can see where it would be a great way to fill up your scrog with colas in an indoor scenerio and will def use it for that , but will go back to tying down my girls ( they are kinky ) in the outdoors environment and keep the extra veg growth going forward.

About the *only* times I can possibly excuse hermi stuff, is when plants hermi due to environmental adaptation. For instance, in very wet/tropical areas, where the rain and foliage, atmospheric density makes pollination very difficult. Like say Thailand, so the plants don't get pollinated easily, and they hermi to try and reproduce.

That's super common with sort of "bunk" weed (hermaphrodite lineage) and/or stresses, actually. I've seen that, maybe a hundred times, with the random crap I've grown (and if it hermis, unless it's VERY late and was stressed a lot, I consider it garbage).

I was not expecting the heavy vegetative growth that I have gotten out of these kush plants , one is over 4 feet tall already and still stretching. Was hoping to be able to finish them in the 3 gallon pots they were in but they started showing signs of being rootbound and demanding water daily. Bad as I didn't want to I had to transplant them into bigger pots yesterday. So far no signs of shock but I did lose a few roots on a couple in the process. Was very tender with them and watered well afterwards , so keeping fingers crossed that they will take it and keep rocking out . I strongly prefer to have them in the final pot before they start flowering and have finished very nice plants outdoors in the 3 gallon pots before but these girls are hardy and simply outgrew them quickly , it wasnt even close.

I started with 10 seedlings , 4 were boys that I used to seed my lemon haze , took a clone from the one I mainlined so I now have 7 girls of this strain. Two are way ahead and kind of short for outdoors but stacking some nice bud on. The other 5 are stretching like crazy and a couple are over 6 feet tall and still going. All are budding pretty good now except one. Thinking about taking a bunch of clones from that one but don't really want the long veg time phenom , we'll see. Smell is getting REALLY funky like sweet armpits mixed with sour lemons. Love it !

@ Sir ISO , agreed ! can't tolerate the hermies. This plant was a genetic freak from out the gate and looked nothing like the other 4 in structure , etc . had tri and single finger leaf the whole time but started budding first and I let my curiosity get the best of me.

Should have stuck with my gut and tossed it when I noticed the strange leaf structure. I grew a mexican sativa strain for many years back in the 70's-80's that was perfect for my climate and was peerless in potency back then. After 10 years or so we started getting hermies coming out in every grow and finally got so bad that we crossed it with some afgan kush in hopes that the fresh genes would cure the hermie problem and it did but we lost our straight sativa strain forever. Others tried the same thing with other strains such as blueberry , OG kush but none were ever as good as the original ....IMO anyway.. We started out with Panama Redbud bagseed back in the 70's and I have been trying to duplicate unsuccessfully ever since. So the quest continues....

Starting to change my mind about the mainlining thing , she is making up for the veg lost to shock and quickly catching her sisters except she has about a dozen classes coming instead of the 3/4/5/6 on the fim'd sisters.

Very unstable genetics on this strain. Even though all 7 females looked identical in veg , 2 started budding right out if the gate , way ahead of the others and am smoking now , 2 others are a few weeks away and the other 3 are still stretching and just starting to stack buds. It's a bit annoying since I planned to have this grow in the books and next phase in progress but saliva side of these girls had different plans. Great , smooth smoke and will be worth the wait if as good as the 1st two. Maybe better !

Conditions have been tough here with 14" of rain in 10 days the past couple of weeks leaching all the nutes out but not bad all things considered. The one sickly looking plant has been a hard one to figure out. I think it is a manganese deficiency and gave it some mag sulfate this week to hopefully tighten her up. Just said " screw it" and added the other 4-5 plants that were a few weeks behind to this diary , 2 reveged lemon haze, Maui, 2 purple punch and a Tropical Wreck, since they are flowering and have almost caught up with the kush. Starting to think I have a root issue with Maui #1 , her sister is kicking azz but she still looks bad. She was doing well until around week 3 when I broke a large limb on her doing some limb rolling , probably coincidence but that is when she started to wilt and develop yellow leaves down low. I have flushed her , adjusted her PH levels , added some maganese sulfate top dressing as her yellow leaves with brown spots resemble that on the deficiency charts but she has not responded yet. Time will tell. Thanks for stopping in.

Sadly , we had yet another tropical depression dump almost 10" more rain this week. That made 20-25" rain the past 3 weeks and was just too much for her. The dreaded budrot showed up again in her so I cut my loses. I estimate 5-6oz off what should have easily been a lb plant., but that's life. Fortunately most of my saliva Dom remainder have held up pretty well so far.

Buds on the Maui, haze and other 3 pink kush are developing pretty well in between floods. If I can just fight off the botrytis for a few more weeks I will pit this one in the books. I knew the kush was pushing the limits of strains that can make it thru hurricane season in my area when I dropped the beans , so not crying about it because in another year it could be different weather.

Sorry , but I got busy with harvest and curing , also it has been a wet summer and have been in a real battle with boytris this year. If it was this bad every year I would probably give up outdoors. Still managed to make around 12oz off of the 5 that I have harvested of really good saliva Dom smoke and still have the best one left to harvest. Check out my lemon haze reveg / monstercrop diary if you haven't. Those girls are amazing.

Well , with the harvest of sister #7 this strain is in the books. Good smoke and very disease resistance but a lot of extra vegetation to deal with both growing and harvest wise. Estimate total dry weight of all 7 at around an LB.
