Starting indoors for transplant outdoors in rural Alberta. Looking forward to seeing what these genetics can do on the Canadian prairie.

Transplanted outdoors in rural Alberta. Rototilled garden area. We had a fair bit of moisture the last week and soil has decent moisture content. This week is supposed be hot weather. Looking forward to seeing Mephisto genetics in an outdoor grow.

June 6: Looking very healthy. Watered it in and placed the cover back on for another week. Starting to smell already. Really strong smell already... pleasantly surprised. The coming week forecast is mild and rainy.

June 12: We had about an inch of rain this week. Kept the plants covered with a small plastic cover given still mild weather. Removed the cover going forward. This one stinks to high heaven... very nice terpene profile.

June 27: After a rough start, starting to look a lot better and roots getting established. I was hoping for more veg time before flowering but lot of new growth this week and some initial flower development. Very strong smell already which is a good sign. Watered in thoroughly. Temps expected 35-40C this week🔥.

July 1: Very hot weather across Western Canada this week reaching 35-40C. Plants have grown considerably and now starting to form flowers. Thoroughly watered in with well water. Odor is developing nicely and very strong. I can smell this girl from across the field. Frost is already forming. Buds should pack weight and stack over the coming month.

July 11: Another warm week across Western Canada. Some rain to support the hot weather with decent soil moisture content. Did not require irrigation. Really impressed with flower formation. Expect these ladies to fatten up over the coming weeks. Odor is strong and resin smells sweet/skunk. I can smell these ladies from across the field. Completed single branch pollination with feminized pollen taken from Mephisto Double Grape reversed female. Solid genetics from Mephisto... really impressed.

July 17: Cooler temperatures across Western Canada and very little precipitation. Soil is quite dry in first 4 inches then moist below that. Regional forest fires bringing in quite a bit of haze and smoke to the area. Did not irrigate this week. Buds are starting to stack. Resin smells sweet/floral with a bit of skunk. Plants seem to have stopped stretching and expect flowers to fatten up over coming weeks. Pretty impressed that side braches have decent flower and resin.

July 25: There was about an inch of rain this past week. Soil has ideal moisture content. Temperature hovering around highs of 25C. Buds are fattening up and filling out and she is done stretching. Resin is skunky fuel. This lady is super stinky, in a good way😅

July 31: Another hot week here in Alberta. Smoke from regional forest fires in the area. High temps but haze doesn't allow full sun. So far in this grow no nutrients have been added whatsoever. Aside from watering a couple of times from well water, these ladies have received only rain water. No special treatment. Surprised by the weight and thickness of buds. Lots of resin and very sticky almost oily. The nose on this variety is exceptional and extremely strong smelling; sweet berry funk. High terps make for tasty bud. Only downside is dirt and sand. It appears lower buds are quite dirty. Has anyone washed their buds off? May need to do this. Some leaves are starting to fade which means harvest isn't far off. Maybe another 2 to 3 weeks to go.

Aug 7: Day 82 and harvest isn't far off. I'm thinking one more week, maybe two. The flowers have filled out and resin is developing nicely. Colas are highly frosted and about 2 inches wide on average. Little to no leaf fade yet and otherwise looking healthy. Resin rub has strong smell of sweet flowery funk.

Happy Harvest Day!

Super easy strain to grow. Started seed indoor May 15 and transplanted to farm garden right into rototilled soil by May 30th. Harvested on Aug 15 or roughly 90 days start to finish. No nutrients added. Some irrigation from well water but otherwise rain-only irrigation. 100% organic. Site has full sun exposure. The main downside of growing directly in the garden is that resin of lower buds became quite dirty. Next time will use a mulch layer to keep dust and dirt down around the plants. Sour Stomper has lots of sticky stinky resin. My garage smelled great for about 10 days during the drying cycle (wife not impressed). In July pollinated a lower branch with feminized Mephisto Double Grape pollen and was able to harvest about 100 decent looking seeds. I had some aphid attack on adjacent plants but this variety was clean so seems less prone to attack by those little jerks. Yield was surprising to the upside and I think could yield 200g/plant grown under ideal conditions. I would definately grow this strain again and highly recommend Mephisto lines. Definately some of the stinkiest stickiest bud around.

Aug 15: Chop day. Local conditions being very dry and hot brought on some unexpected pest pressure in adjacent varieties. Interesting that this plant had no aphid attack or visible bugs whatsoever compared to other varieties. Fresh flower has funky sweet/sour berry odor. Buds came out fat, dense and heavy. Buds are highly resinous and very sticky and have best structure out of all varieties grown this year. Pleased with the yield. Will report dry weight when available. Buds are quite attractive with a bit of purple a bit of pink showing... looking forward to drying, curing and testing.

@NorthernAutos, lol, yep. Best autos I've grown are Mephisto and FastBuds 😎🔥. Going out today with some feminized Double Grape pollen to make seed stock for next year👌

It’s crazy hot right now. And about five weeks ago the problem was freezing overnight temps….these plants have experienced about a 40 C range this year. I’m spraying water on a hail net to let it evaporate and mostly just hoping they make it. Will also use some kelp extract as several online sources recommend this to recover from heat stress.

@Northern_Ent, thanks for the ideas/input. Interested to see how this turns out. Indeed heat stress will be a factor. Unfortunately I tend to these only once a week. Watered in heavily last weekend and soil generally had good moisture content already. Should be ok. Risk now is whether extreme heat stunts veg growth and the plant goes into survival mode and puts all energy into reproduction/flowering...
