Popped these two beans in seed starting mix in a humidity dome with a heat mat underneath.
On second day of popping moved them into the greenhouse (which doesn't get direct sun all day this time of year).

Will be moving these into 5 gallon fabric pots with super soil (with a small buffer zone of plain Roots 707 close to the plant) within this first week.
Likely will be top dressing in 5 or 6 weeks.
1 Week from germination, and things are looking good so far
Seedlings don't seem to be getting decimated by the hot-ass soil in their 5 gallon fabric pots.
I'll take that as a win!
Temps have been fairly moderate here (75-85) the last week or so... but we'll be looking at 95º+ towards mid/end of this week.
----
Heat wave was crazy.
Thursday topped out at 106ºF.
Nevertheless, they persisted.
7/23
Babies unfortunately had to get themselves through a heatwave at the end of last week.
Thursday topped out at 106ºF.
Noticed some black aphids getting at the seedlings on 7/22, so I sprayed with Neem Oil before dark and then dusted with Diatomaceous Earth on 7/23.
Hopefully this gets the pest thing under control.
7/26
Progressing nicely now that the black aphids are gone.
Not much to say here.
Everything looking strong after recovering from a brief black aphid attack (diatomaceous earth was applied).
Vegetative growth is accelerating as the roots fill out the pot.
They should really take off next week.
6/30
Seeing daily development now, and the plants are showing more and more vigor.
Excited to watch these two develop for the next couple of weeks.
Should be aggressive.
;)

Lion Claw is growing like crazy. I've been really impressed with this strain so far.
Both plants just started showing sex, and they both ended up being females!
Top Dressed both Lion Claw plants to ensure they have plenty of fuel for flowering.

17" tall this morning. Such a vigorous monster.
Can't stress enough how blown away I am by these Lion Claw genetics.
They've been vigorous as hell, and have been taking some VERY hot super soil in stride.
Up to 29" tall.
Exicted to see how much taller these get over the next few weeks, given they are only in 5-gallon pots.
Booming and blooming.
One pheno is about 25" tall, and the other is over 3' tall.
Not a ton of odor yet, but I continue to be very impressed by the growth rate of these Pride of the Lion genetics.
Sprayed CannControl on Wednesday as a preventive measure.
Aphids are strong in the brussels sprouts right now.
Skipped a week in my journal last week, as I was traveling.
Had my neighbor water my plants.
Came back and everything was looking great with the Lion Claw.
I WAS having some minor early deficiencies with my photoperiod plants though... so I decided to go ahead and give everything a solid feeding of Foop Bloom 1, 2 and Sweetener.
Also top dressed the Lion Claw and mulched with rice straw to help with the soil drying out a bit too quickly.
She's a big plant for being in a 5-gallon pot.
I have a sneaking suspicion that my neighbor didn't water them quite enough while I was gone.
Will probably continue with the Foop feedings... probably once per week. Don't want to overdo it.
8/4 LIGHTLY sprayed with gravenstein apple FFJ and OHN.
8/6 LIGHTLY sprayed base soil area with neem oil / castile soap mixture.
This girl feels like she is filling out daily.
She was the lankier of the two phenos I sprouted (gave the squattier, more dense veg pheno to a friend), so I'm interested to see how the bud sites develop over time.
8/10
Top dressed her with about 1/2 cup each of Crab Meal and Kelp Meal.
8/11
Deployed beneficial insects to the garden as a whole. Hung parasitic wasp larvae (kills caterpillars) from Lion Claw.
This thing is smelling so delicious.
Resin is starting to get heavy, and the buds are really swelling.
Had just a touch of nutrient burn from bringing Foop into the fold, but I think she's handling that just fine and dandy.
It's hot as hell right now, so she's back to drinking every 24 hours.
Just fed her with FOOP for the last time (Friday).
Will only give her water for the rest of her grow time.
She's looking almost fully cooked.
Will likely check her trichs on Sunday and start to consider a timeline for chopping.
No pest issues at all.
Smell is absolutely divine.
Will report back with a smoke report, but this thing smells incredible and budded extremely well.
Didn't have much of any issues with pests. Got a BIG 4' plant from only super soil in a 5-gallon fabric pot.
Tons of resin.
Very impressed with these automatic genetics from Pride of the Lion Seeds... and I'll definitely be growing another one of them in the spring.
