Left in a glass of water until they sank, then put in wet paper to germinate.

Pleased that both seeds germinated and sprouted. The fascination is just beginning.

This week I decided they deserved better. Added some red/blue LEDs that are low output, 12 on 12 off, 29.99 Chinese, designed for house plants. Even upgraded the pot to a 11 litre Grownest.

The first flowers are budding... At this point the nutrients consist of 10ml/l of regular tomato plant feed.

I only foiund this site in week 11. No worries, will start a new one for the Gorilla Glue whaich will be attampt number 2. So this week for attempt number one, let me introduce Lefty and Righty. They both cam from seeds that were ordered from the same place at the same time and should have been Banana Kush Autos. Well, I think one is and one isn't. They had a rough start. I had a herb propagator thing with a little LED light. They strung out and it wasn't until week 4 that I added some cheapass red/blue grow LEDs on a stick. Week 5 I bout the tent, week 6 the spider farmer light. No matter, I am pleased so far with the results. Lefty is small but very healthy and green, she is dying now, but slowly. Water intake has dropped to <0.6l per day. Her buds at the top at least, are almost ready to harvest, plenty of milky trichomes and mostly brown pistils. Her lower buds are at least a week behind. I'm probably going to be brave and remove the top first, as I'm not a fan of sleepy highs. Righty is a dilemma. First I don't know what she is. Second, she is dying fast. Leaves yellowing and brown spots, halved water intake over the last week from 1.5 to around 0.7 l/d . Some of the sugar leaves are also showing some browning. 80% of pistils are white, buds seem to still be fattening, trichomes are clear. If her health gets worse, I'll need to harvest early I think. ???

How can I tell when to harvest when the plant is dying fast but the buds are not fully developed. White pistils, clear trichomes. The plant distress is close to reaching the buds, with some sugar leaves browning.

Don't worry about the leaves at this late stage, nothing will cure it and it won't affect your buds potency. Just try to ignore it and observe your flowers for when they are ready to harvest and judging by the pictures, this won't be long. Flushing with great amounts of water will just make things worse, as it will leach any remaining goodness out of the soil and will not help your plant at all at this late stage. Wait until there are about 90% brown pistils, flush with three normal irrigations with plain water then harvest when there are about 95% brown pistils. This will save most. if not all of the quality that your buds now possess. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Not good. Righty got some bud rot in two of the big buds near the top. Think I saved the main big bud and rest of the plant, but had to harvest some a little early. The top bud weighed 27g trimmed, before drying. 😁 It is now the end of week 12, keeping a very close eye out for more rot. RH is at 56% which should be OK.

The beginning of week 13. The top bud I had to harvest early is curing at 63% RH. Looks OK but smells a bit green. The top buds from Lefty were harvested yesterday, amber trichomes and not getting fatter. That's drying in my home-made box.

I didn't do the seeds justice with an amateur first attempt, but still they produced lovely fat buds, with a deep strong odour and beautiful red tinge to the sugar leaves and buds. Will say later how it smoked..

It was 12 weeks from germination to harvest. This grow taught me a lot, mostly that I have a lot to learn. There was a lot of trimming to do after the drying phase. It took a week to get the buds to around 65% RH. The bud I had to rescue early has been curing for 2 weeks and I've had a taste. It was surprisingly potent, with a nice easy buzz. I'm looking forward to the main crop in a few weeks from now.
