Smallest cannabis seeds I’ve ever seen. But all 5 popped in 28 hours. I have 5 happy little seedlings starting life in 5 gallon fabric pots. This will be my second grow ever. My first grow with photo periods went pretty well so I’m hoping to do even better with this round!
My lights look really dim but they’re actually so bright that they blow out the camera on my iPhone. I’ll try with the flash when they’re a bit bigger. I have pretty decent airflow with a 4” Lumo-X exhaust fan up top and an 18” pedestal fan blowing on the girls at all times to prevent mildew or fungal infections. There’s never any dampness in my grow space. It might even be a tad on the dry side for veg but I’d rather take that risk over the many ways a damp grow space mess up your ladies. And come flowering the 45-50% Rh comes in handy!
I’m using Golfgreen potting soil which is just soil,peat moss amd perlite mixed perfectly for cannabis. It’s loaded with little chunks of wood and old roots mulched up. It does an amazing job at naturally balancing the PH and keeping the soil fluffy and airy and never gets compacted into cement over time like some soil does. Combined with the perfectly balanced water where I live which comes out of the faucet at a PH of 7 every time so I never really have to check runoff. Girls seem to love it and never develop any health issues. Only my crappy grow skills can do that now!
Start of the second week and 7 days since I first wet the seeds. So far things are looking good. Girls are happy and praying so I’ll just leave them to do their thing.
Starting to notice leaf edges lifting a bit. Maybe heat stress starting? It is getting slightly over 28C in there but I have good ventilation and fans moving air around. Humidity is definitely a tad too low but being a concrete bunker there isn't much I can do about that. Wifey won’t let me buy any more toys for my grow space so the girls will have to tough it out like last time. Doesn’t seem to be hampering their growth for now.
Start of week 3 now.. 14 days since I wet the seeds and everything is looking good so far. Gave them their first feeding on day 12 and they really responded well to it! I moved my lights up 6 inches as I was afraid the girls were getting a little too much. Better safe than sorry. Have some branches forming on a few already.
Edit July 06 2021: woke up today to find that a few of the girls are starting to smell like a skunks butt! Absolutely amazed at how vigorous their growth is at such an early stage.
Starting week 4 and 21 days from wetting the seeds..so far so good. Gimpy leaf is still lagging behind but growing none the less. Seems I have two plants showing variegation in all of their foliage. Looks beautiful and it certainly hasn’t held them back in the least. In fact, they both seem to be growing extremely fast and healthfully. Gave them their second feeding at half the recommended dose and their roots have almost reached the sides of the 5 gallon pots.
EDIT: July/15/2021. Found some tiny little preflowers on a few of the girls. Only 24 days old and they’re becoming little women..*sniff*. Hope they grow some more before they start flowering or they won’t be getting that big.
EDIT: July/17/2021 All 5 have preflowers showing now. Won’t be long for the show to begin.

We are currently travelling through the Trichome nebula in the Gelato sector. Our esteemed guests have gone through a bit of a growth spurt since my last log entry.. I’ve decided to take my science officer’s advice and withhold rations from our leafy friends as at least two of the Cannabisians are showing signs of nutrient over abundance. My communications officer Ohotty has advised me to issue a distress call. I won’t risk another intergalactic incident! After receiving only water the Cannabisian delegates have shown signs of recovery and the mild burns they’ve suffered are being treated by Bowls, the ships physician. I’ve asked Tokey down in engineering to divert all reserve power to the dylithium grow pods to assist in the delegates recovery until we can reach their home world, Cannabisia 7. With any luck and the ships crew at red alert, we’ll get the Cannabisians home in time for their flowering ceremony.
