Seed was germinated in a wet paper towel and transferred to a rapid rooter when initial root was about 1/4 inch long. The rapid rooter was then placed into the final 2 gallon cloth pot. Seed popped really quickly, less than 24 hours. Then in less than 24 hours from transplant she had her little leaves out.

I tried to keep watering very light and just let it do it’s thing because I was terrified of overwatering. One of the leaves was a bit deformed. I think this may have been because the ph was too high the first few weeks.

At the beginning of the week the plant began to have a yellowish tint of green and some leaves began to show brownish patches. I went to Reddit for some guidance since this was my first grow. The result of that was that I dropped my ph from 6.5-5.8 and quickly bought an EC meter. The initial findings with the ec meter was that my coco was super hot. I think this may be because I didn’t flush it before putting my plant into it as I later found many suggest. My first few ec readings were around 3500 us/cm, this was about 1100 higher than my input, so I decided to flush with phed water. I flushed about 4 gallons through over the course of the day, then flushed one final time with normal nutrient solution. After a few days the plant started to visibly improve in hue and show signs of healthy improvement. Towards the end of the week I decided to lay the plant down and used an LST clip to place a 90 degree bend at the base of the stem and begin lst training.

I made some choices this week, and I’m not sure all of them were good ones, but I am pleased with my plants growth at this point. She is noticeably more green now that the PH and ec have been lowered, and is growing fairly rapidly. First choice was to tie down the plant, I think this was solid, and the plant quickly filled in the spots opened by the training within a few days and was then trained down again. The second choice that I am less sure of was that in a late night impulse, i topped her. It was just above the 4th node. This was about half way through the week between the first and second tie down. If this was a huge mistake, go easy on me, it’s my first time 🤣🤣🤣 Other than that, I just continued watering, which I do about 5 times a day for a total of about a gallon per day. I’m hoping when preflower starts in the next week or two that she stretches out. Seems like she has a ton of potential bud sites, but it’s all very compact atm. On the last day of week 4 while attempting to adjust a tie down I broke off a branch. I am attempting to clone it even though I know that won’t do much with an auto, but my hope is I can use it to make some pollen sacks for future use at the very least but not very hopeful.

Had a branch break at the joint while trying to lst. I decided to try to clone it since it’s still in veg, even though I know not to expect much since it’s an auto. My hope is that I can make a few seeds from it using CS, if it ends up budding. Still worried that she isn’t stretching more but I think so far the canopy is pretty even which I’m happy about. Also concerned that I’m not seeing any signs of preflower at week 5. Thanks so much for the answers!! The white powder on my plants is DE, not powdery mildew. I saw some gnats (2) and treated with diatomaceous earth and haven’t seen any since. I will try reducing nitrogen. I’ve ordered a 24 hour timer and it will be here tomorrow. Will try switching to 18/6 and see if it makes any difference in the plants health.

Should I be concerned if my purple punch autoflower is showing no signs of flowering at 30 days?

Hi there, Autoflower normally start showing pre flower around 4~6th week into vegetative stage. Also I see in your diary ,you are growing with 24/0 light hour .Even though Autoflower are independent of light hour, growing without dark period causes them alot of stress.Try to reduce light hour to 18/6 or 16/8 and then wait for a week or two. They should be better. If they are not still showing any sign of pre flower after 6 or 7th week, again try to reduce 12/12 and you will see pre flower for sure.Sometimes that happen because of breeder mistake between auto and photo.Happy growing... ✌️

My Purple punch auto roots are growing out the bottom of a 2 gallon cloth pot at 31 days in. Is this a bad thing or a good thing and does it mean I need to transplant?

You're fine. It'll air prune itself. That'll cause the root to branch off, all the way back to the taproot. It's the same idea as the air-pot.

Hi there, only defoliate if there is a good reason.Like do some defoliation to lower down tent humidity,to make a good air flow if too bushy.Defoliate some leaves If they are damaged or shaded below the canopy.May be some lollipopping if there are too many popcorn buds underneath.Other than those, shouldn’t do.Those fan leaves are acted like extra sources of energy for plants.Only recommend to defoliate at the start of flowering circle and again at 3rd week of flower or at the end of stretching period. To me, your plant is still sufferes from stress and doesn't need to defo yet.Happy growing... ✌️

Still waiting for preflower. July 13: I think she is in preflower? I’m noticing a lot of trichomes forming on leaves and if I touch the stems my finger comes away smelling like straight dankies. Still no hairs though so a bit concerned.

Really pleased with the shape and branch structure. She is stretching upwards very nice with lots of room in the center for all the secondary offshoots that are raising their heads. Entering week 3 of bottom watering with no negative effects visible. Half way through week 7 and she still isn’t flowering. I don’t know if I should flip it to 12/12 and see if I got a photo or just let it keep doing its thing. I’ve been told she looks like she will flower soon, but all I am seeing is new veg. Wwyd?

Out of town this week having my plants cared for via daily FaceTime. Potatoes quality pics for this week, so sorry about that. As far as I can tell though we are truly into flower now.

The buds are beginning to put on some weight and thicken and she is still growing upwards. I’ve been having to re-tie her every 2-3 days. Still got a ways to go but I’m really proud of her so far!
