Taking another stab at Mephisto strain. Medium was scraps I had around, some Canna professional soil, ugro Coco & perlite. Added a lot of perlite to make the medium airy with all the added soil. What I really liked about my previous coco grow was "no overwatering" so trying to replicate it a little with this. On the other hand I will have less time, so multiple waterings per day like my last run is out of the question.
Germination was a pain, I tried about 5 seeds, poping one every 3-4 days, and was getting desperate. Finnaly after planting the fifth I noticed some of the previous ones I thought were dead germinate. This plant is one of them.
There are some serious heatwaves here, so the temp is really high, but the seedling seems to take it well.
Another stupid hot weak. The temp in the growbox went up to the 35-36 C°, but surprisingly, the plant looks well, a little stretchier than I would like, but nothing bad. I may try to raise the pot and do some lst to keep that in check
Got AC this week, but can't run it too hard, so the max temps are around 31-32 C. There is beginning of what looks like heat stress on few leaves. Due to this I switched to 18-6 light schema with lights off during the hottest part of the day.
Other than that the growth seems good. I tried to feed a little for the first time, about 1/4 of the recommended dose, but new leaves started clawing a little after that, so I will wait with next feed for about a week.
Decided to top on day 19 a little in the spur of the moment, hopefully I won't regret it 🤞.
I started watering more frequently, right now about 2L every 3 days, as the plant was underwatered and wilting a bit at the start of the week. This made it perk up almost immediately. I also increased the nutrient dose a bit, right now at 1/4 strength (I said the same last week, but I counted wrong, and it was actually 1/8 dose).
Other than that I did major LST readjustment, spreading out the canopy and so far I am happy with the result.
The plant is still stretching, but just a little, this one will be a real dwarf. But the colas look respectable, so I hope it yields ok.
Missed one watering and the leaves started cupping and yellowing a little bit, hopefully it wont get worse.
