This is my second grow in the Grobo. First grow I just put the seed in the cocoa pod and it germinated in the box. This time I germinated in a glass of water because of success I had with my last tent grow with this method. Dropped the seed in the cocoa pod and started the grow with the Grobo app after 3 days germinating in a glass of water.
Had a scare damping off, she seems to have recovered. Extended early veg an extra week. I did find an aphid under a leaf a week or so ago and treated with neem oil. Still battling higher water temps.. they hover around 72 and I’d like them to be more like 68-70. Looking into getting a water chiller, probably will just continue using Hydroguard.
Smell is much stronger than Granddaddy Purple grown last harvest in the Grobo. Hopefully she doesn’t stretch as much, last grow shot up to the light too quick and I had trouble getting her away. This one seems fine! Almost 2 weeks at 12/12.
I added a fan on top of the two fans built into the Grobo. I also raised my cocopod higher this time since last grow I had to deal with damping off due to too much moisture. The black is vinyl that I used to prevent potential light exposure to the water reservoir. Grobo is a DWC Hydroponic self-nutrient dosing and pH regulating automated grow cabinet.
This is a really nice box! Are the pumps and the waterflow silent enough? The problem with most DWC systems is the continues sound off water splashing.
Miss Cherry Pie is looking great! Did you not train her at all? She grows in a good shape with all the canopy's and fan leaves getting equal amount of light.
Only cant you lower down that light?
Smart that you block the light out of your water resevoir... Have been there killing algae as a fulltime job.

@PhilLeshPhan, Ok I might have a look for the Grobo closet. I used to grow in Gtools closet with Eb and grow system before. This system also has NFT system but the sound made me quit this system.
Recently moved to a smaller appartment so can only store a small closet ( or 2 :p ).
Yeah thats fucked that you cant play with the light. Maby you can buy and add a Mars Hydro or Samsung quantum board so that you can lower the light closer to the plant. I always used Cob leds 3500 kelvin. And a Spectrabox for far blue during growing and far red during blooming. Could aways hang them around 30 cm from the plants.
Now I have 90 watts Osram led panel. These are standard inside the MiniGrow Box closet. With a lens to penetrate through the leaves and buds.
No this plant is not going to stretch a lot more because she is blooming already.
But yeah I always like a scrog screen. I even got one for inside this small closet. Gives you a lot more control about the hight of the canopy's. Those metal hooks and a simple Secret Jardin Scrog net will do the job.

@@johashishan, I don’t notice the sound at all. By comparison, last grow I had it next to my tent. My inline duct fan to my tent was louder than the Grobo bubbler. Dehumidifier was MUCH louder. The Grobo is about as loud and similar in sound to a bubbler in a 50 gallon fish tank. I personally never notice it, and it’s in my bedroom where I sleep. All I did was top this one and some pruning/lollipopping. The light does not move. Last grow my granddaddy purple stretched too high and got away from me and was nearly touching the light for the last month of flowering. That sucked. The crop turned out alright but some of my biggest buds were very dry and basically ruined. I have some magnetic hooks I planned to use to keep this one from stretching too high but 3 weeks after flipping I honestly don’t think I’ll need to this time, unless she runs off on me in the next week or so.
