With the short grow time, I thought this plant was gonna take off right out of the gate, but it was pretty slow at the beginning of the week. Most of the other plants we've grown have gotten twice as big in the same amount of time. We were worried our soil was too hot, or that maybe the freebie seed was inferior. Had we miscalculated something? Looking back at the pics between the 8th and 13th (don't know what happened to my 9-12th), I guess the progress was actually pretty good, and maybe I was just being impatient.
A few days ago, I started to see some real progress. She finally started praying, and making noticeable growth. The last two pictures show a 5 hour difference just today, so I'm thinking the slow start was for root development. Hopefully it doesn't happen too fast, since my soil settled a lot more than I expected. I'm thinking about trying to lift it some. It also finally got the cabinet to itself today after we moved the gorilla cookies photo out, so it will now be under the center of the light. We just used the Tent Buddy app to adjust lighting to 500 ppfd, and we'll see what happens over the next week!
Since she is a blueberry, we have decided to call her Violet, after Violet Beauregard in Willie Wonka.
