Antares Plant is doin ok I noticed she's a little bit smaller than other phenotypes, but soon she will grow like a monster as she prepares for flowering stage, so I decided to start LST. As you can imagin guys, is my first LST and you may guess what happened 😢 Yes I broke a branch (with little sprouds) , Will I have serious consequences at harvesting? ****I confess i smoked the broken branch and the leaves (haven't smoke in months!) Man, now I can see this will be some trippy sh^t****

Antares She is in preflowering, still small but beautiful, I decided to start LST again, the main stem it's bigger. I think that the size of the plant was affected because of the light distance, in the last day I decided to put it closer, hope she still growing a little bit in flowering stage

Hey, have you grown photoperiod using rootz products? I’ll assume you’re in Mexico. Haven't you had any problems with the temperature? I have a little plant that's 9 weeks old and doesn't go over 10 cm. I also use the rootz line, but it just doesn’t seem to take... does the fish emulsion work for you?

@dfj92 Hey! I'm using rootz and grow depot, and yes, I'm from Mexico. On hot days, the temperature inside my indoor reaches up to 33 °C, I have a fan pointing towards some trays with water, which I've noticed cools things down and increases humidity (according to my hygrometer), it only works if I have the indoor doors open to allow airflow and prevent heat from getting trapped. Well, look, there's no doubt that the fertilizer isn't the problem since the plant can grow without it during the first few weeks and reach a good size. I've seen your diary, and I think the lighting is the epicenter of its slow development; I'm not an expert, but it shows signs that this is the case. What I would do is take one out into the sun or see how they develop in the sun by germinating some new ones. You have a very well-prepared indoor setup to waste it like that; if it turns out to be the lighting and you don't have enough budget to buy good lights, try CFLs. I've seen plants that develop really well under those bulbs. And also, since they are organic fertilizers, I try to make compost teas and add mycorrhizae and BAL to the soil so the plant can better assimilate the nutrients.

@Antares, Thanks a lot, bro. But the heat where I live is brutal. With the setup I have, what do you recommend? I also have a fan blowing into a cooler with water and frozen water bottles with an exhaust going into the tent, and still, the thermometer reads over 30°C. I’m not worried about humidity, but it’s been 10 weeks and it’s still super tiny. I just ordered a fish emulsion because I saw it has more nitrogen than the Giga Grow. The only different thing I could do is open the tent doors since I always keep them closed. So, are the 1000W LED lights I have not good? My soil mix has mycorrhizae, and I bought molasses to make a compost tea. But online, I see that teas are used when the plant is bigger. I see yours is Auto; do you have experience with photoperiod? I would really appreciate the help. Thanks

@dfj92 I wouldn't know how to better control the heat bro): , with an extractor and more fans I suppose it could be done but yeah, it’s quite an investment, and well, it's unnecessary to mention air conditioning. Another option would be to not improve the environment but to improve your plant, with silicon you thicken the cell walls and help your plants combat the heat, for this I use forza silica. Yeah, it’s actually great that you ordered fish emulsion, in the rootz line I didn’t find very good products for vegetation and be careful with bombastic during flowering because I'm sure it has more nitrogen than they put on the label, it’s the only one that doesn’t say guaranteed composition. I say that opening them would help you a lot, you would allow for air exchange and I can't guarantee 100% that it’s your lights bro, but your plants show symptoms that it is, try growing one in the sun. I had read the opposite man haha, do what makes more sense to you, what I had seen is that it’s good to inoculate the soil from the beginning with beneficial organisms so that the microbiome starts to form and the plant has quicker access to nutrients, it’s very hard to over-fertilize with compost tea. I have a photoperiod plant growing in the same indoor, it’s a tropicanna poison and it’s practically growing at the same speed as the other, it’s just 2 weeks younger, they are my first plants. I hope what I just mentioned helps you bro, I learned a lot at RoyalQueenSeeds.

@Antares, Alright, got it. Thank you very much, one last question? What is your watering regimen with the photoperiod? What nuts do you use and how often, do you sometimes water only with water, do you do the flush? Cheers!

Antares commented5y ago
@dfj92, With the photodependent one, I don't have such a strict plan; I only water when the substrate is dry and I haven't fully fertilized it, I've just added rootzilla and I pour the leftover water from the other pot, and with just that the plant already showed signs of over-fertilization haha, so for now I'll just water it with water, I uploaded a photo of it in the new update. Cheers!

@Antares, What's up bro, let me tell you that the fish emulsion tip worked really well, the plant has grown like never before in such a short time. Everything indicated a lack of a good nitrogen-rich nutrient and I also started using Forza Silica. Check out my diaries. Thank you so much!
