The seeds are from a local South African breeder. Theres not much info on the strains he offers and these are F1's, but they sprouted well and are taking to the soil well. So we will see how they grow in the future
So far these have been my fastest growing babies and have given me no problems
They were moved into 40L dog food bag pots at the beginning of week 2 and i have begun giving the 50ml of kelp meal tea each week
The soil in the bags is a mix of homemade kitchen and garden scrap compost, soil from my backyard and then further amended with bio-char, basalt rock dust, bone meal, kelp meal, insect frass and pot ash.
The soil is then layered in pots with fresh organic matter in between. However i put less organic matter in the plastic bags than i do the paper bag dog food bags as they hold onto more water
P.S.(i know the dog food bags are not good for root ventilation but they are good for budget grows)
This week has been pretty good for the berry rocket sisters. They have really taken well to the warming temperatures and are growing the fastest out of my plants
Well with them going into pre flower I sadly only got 2 females out of the 6 plants i sprouted, but the females are still the biggest of all my autos so far.
I topped the females plant 1 at node 4 and plant 2 at node 5 and am giving them abit to heal before i start lst
And i kept the 2 best growing males for seeds.
(P.S. Not my first auto top)
Ive been abit busy so i haven't been able to update, but they pretty far into flower and have been moved under shade cloth due to the heat and rains coming with good old 34°c temperatures and some plant shredding hail.
Plant 1 is so far my favourite pheno with pretty good bud structure and a amazing smell of berries(leaning towards strawberry) with hints of diesel and coffee. She began to develop a magnesium deficiency so i gave her a light foliar spraying and watered her with a epsom salt solution and we will see how she recovers.
Plant 2 is abit disappointing as it has preferred to grow short and stocky with some feather buds making her impossible to lst but she still has good trichome coverage with a strong raspberrie candy smell.
Scale bugs also decided to move into my auto grow so the plants got sprayed with 1ml/1l of spinosad in week 7
Plant 1 is edging closer to harvest and has been fading well, with the trichomes almost all opaque so id give it maybe a week to 2 weeks.
While plant 2 still needs a while but is fattening up into 1 big bud
