Tied down one of them. I had to leave for 2 weeks and my wife took care of them. Note that all 4 plants at the end of week three got 4ml of grow and 4ml of fish sh!t watered in.
So after coming back the lights were obviously way to close. There’s some twisting on the bud leafs and the light was readjusted to 30”. Noticed some small bugs crawling around in the soil. Researching what they could be. Plants look happy overall, minus the light issue.
Plants progressing slowly. I know sativa/haze strains tend to flower slowly so I’m trying to be patient. Leafs are super green and are showing what appears to be a slight nutrient burn? For this reason I have held the feeding. And just watered with Fish Sh!t until further assessments can be made. I can’t tell if it was the mites or not but after getting them under my microscope, they appear to be hypoaspis miles. At least a hundred per plant crawling around. There’s a lot. Used Dr. Zymes to give a foliage spray to protect from spider mites, molds, ect ect.
Been doing some light defoliation. These got pretty tall for autos I believe so I haven’t had to defoliate much, looking back I definitely should have topped them but this is my first grow so I’m learning.
Also Checked the PH runoff and it was 5.5. I’ve been watering at a 6.0 point pretty damn religiously. Not sure if I need to adjust or not. After doing more reeding I think watering is supposed to range from 6.0-6.8 might attempt to range the ph a little more higher to see if this is a nutrient lock out issue or just a slight over feed.
Trying to keep the nitrogen low. I can tell based off the color of the leaves that they definitely don’t need more of it. Letting this koolbloom boost that p/k ratio and being a little proactive and adding calmag. Temps and RH have been steady. No abnormal spikes in temp. I will applaud myself on the room atmosphere. I haven’t had any issues with lighting, heat, cool, Or RH. It’s all been between 69 degrees- 77 degrees. RH 40-50%
Not very happy with the overall flower production. I know the sativa haze strains can take a longer time to flower/fatten up but I’m worried that it’s not getting bigger due to some nutrient lockout? The runoff PH is super low (5.1/5.0) and the in PH has been (6.5/6.8). So I’m quite certain some of the deficiencies that look like cal mag issues are caused by the low PH. I have no clue on how to get it up this late in flower? I don’t even know if I’m close to the end of flower or not 🤦♂️🏼I read that this Fish Sh!t I’m using helps with salt and nutrient buildup so I gave it some last night. If anyone has advise on how to make these flowers bigger, I’m all ears! I think there’s roughly 4 more weeks of flowering before harvest for some of them.
On a good note the atmosphere has been on point! Good steady temps and RH with no issues there. Some fungus gnats have sprouted and are being kept at bay with the amazing Dr. Zymes and sticky traps.
Any advice and tips are welcome! New grower and this is my first time.
Cheers!
Kinda where we are at right now. Bud development coming along. Ph runoff was low. Dolomite lime used PH has slowly been rising over the course of the week. Temps and RH steady. No environmental/pest issues. Some nutrient lockout currently being corrected in all 6 autos. 4 were planted at the same time and 2 were planted about 2 weeks later. All in seem to be in various stages of development.
Harvest turned out okayish for my first run. Excited for #2. These plants don’t like to be fed at all! Seems like every time I fed them something they got worse and worse. Stopped feeding and they continued to grow 🤷♂️🏼 Now enjoying some SLH and it’s tasty :)
Overall the grow was decent for my first time. I learned so so much and am excited to do the next. :) SLH is an easy plant with pretty good resistance to disease and pests. At least that was my experience. Just hold the nutrients and really make sure that it’s a deficiency before applying. Cheers!
Wow! I really enjoyed visiting ur journals! Great work, I hope you’ll get a healthy grow with the best results and some delicious buds at the end. Keep on doing ur thing.
I will drop by some times to see your progress on ur grows! Happy growing and feel free to drop by anytime to say hello! Have a good day 😁🥦
@Averynate, it looks like you have a Nitrogen toxicity. When u see this daaark green and shiny colors it’s to much nitrogen. So in flower ur plant dosnet need that much nitrogen anymore. So lower the dosage and keep on with the same amount p/k. In maybe 2/3 weeks use a pk boost the half recommended dosage til flush. Use it the last 4/6 weeks in flower but not the high dosage. Lower it by half or even 2/3 :) and use it for longer. The brands usually say use it for 1 week but IMO using it for longer gives better results but u got to keep ur eyes open
@Averynate, thank urself dude. Well growing can be really tricky some times. I got some issues to right now with 2 of my girls they are a little pale on some spots hmm but I will find it out
@Legendaryseedthumb, Thanks dude, this is my first grow ever so I have no clue what I’m doing other than what the lovely internet has provided. Having some issues on week 6/7 as annotated in the narrative so any tips or tricks are much appreciated! Your garden looks amazing 👌
Looks good honestly I wouldn't worry too terribly much about the nutrient burn, it's honestly probably just from the fish "fertilizer" the reason they probably got so tall is for 2 likely reasons. Sativas are generally taller framed plants, and the distance from canopy top to the light affects internodal spacings. Just keep in mind before topping your next auto. Great job nonetheless! Following it.
Hey man looking good, I'd recommend taking some pics with out the "blurple" grow lights on for your diary. You can wait til lights off and snap a few with flash on or just cut the lights off for a second and take a few pics in natural light. It will help ppl see her real beauty and also if you have issues and ask a grow question, I usually go back thru the last few weeks of your diary to check out how things have progressed - and its nearly impossible to do so with the pics from the blurple light you have. Not trying to be rude about anything but natural light or even light from your flash will do her much better justice.. looking good for your first grow, keep it up
Hey bud-dy I'm back, she looks good still to me, where nutrient lockout is possible due to the high acidity (low ph) of the medium you can use a compost teat ph'd to like 6.8 and give her hell. Also may check your ph pen calibration, seen it before where numbers are a whole series off so when you think your feeding 6.5 it's 5.5 or 7.5. But nonetheless a compost tea should up the ph and help stack some weight on. Hope that helps.
