This week was good. They grew pretty fast all in all. Humidity got a little high so the plants didn't dry out enough for watering yet. Planning to water tomorrow 8-24 for all but the white widow seedling. Since I can't afford a tent at the moment I have elected to use an entire spare room as my grow room, and will be doing a lot of prep in the coming day or two. Once I have completed that and transplanted the ones I need to I will get some good pictures for next week's entry.
Edit: added some picture I took today. Waiting for some materials to arrive so I can transplant and set up their new, much stronger lights. Up until now I've been using a small 100w LED grow light for seedlings only. Next week should have some new grow room pics as well as plants in their new 5g homes. Also, the White Widow seedling that I had on this diary has been moved to its own diary. Thanks to all who've been liking and commenting on my post. Stay stoned and happy growing everyone!
Been putting together my grow room and moved the plants to their 5g homes. They all seem to have liked the move and didn't get stressed or anything. I've been keeping a close eye on them and checking soil PH and moisture daily. Also I purchased some diatomaceous earth and put a thin layer on top of the soil of each plant and spread a little around my grow room too. I had a problem with some gnats from a house plant of mine that I didn't want to spread to my girls. Thankfully I seem to have finished them off and haven't had any issues with them for a little bit. I sprayed some real nasty bug spray around the perimeter of my house to ensure nothing is trying to get in as well.
Other than that things this week went pretty well. The girls are growing and progressing well. Just need for my 1200w light to come in and I'll set that up right away. But for now the setup I've got is working, but not ideal. They should be fine for the next day or 2 until I get my light. I'll also be posting an update on my white widow plant on my other grow diary. Had to separate them to enter a contest. Might be adding a 3rd soon too. The strain will be orange bud from a seed I got in a bag a bit ago. Thanks for reading!
P.S. sorry about the pic quality. I'll try to remember to take some better ones with the light off when I get home later. I was in a hurry today when I took them.
9-3-21: Today I added my new grow light and stand that came in the mail. I also put plastic sheeting on the ground around the whole room and windows. It's really looking good now. I still have things to do, but for now I feel a lot better that I have this stuff completed. Until next week friends!
Sorry that it took me so long to add stuff. I've been a little busy. I've ran into some issues with a couple of my plants. Unfortunately, the trileafed plant got sick and I thought it was something else so the situation got worse. I am not sure what is wrong with it but I've treated her with neem oil and began flushing the soil as well, and she seems to be turning around. Actually I've treated all me plants with neem oil soil drenches and foliar spray. The trileafed plant seems to be getting better since the neem oil treatment. It looks like some of her new growth looks more normal. I guess I just have to wait and see. I didn't want to jump the gun and cut her down before she had a chance to recover. Other than that things have been going good. The other plants seem to be growing fast and I've been trying FIMing and topping them. I've decided to do that over the LST cause it seems a little easier for a newbie. Maybe once I get more accustomed to growing I'll try the LST or something else.
Also, another new development is I have switched the lighting schedule to a 6-2. I've read that is can increase growth speed and help provide a more stable environment. It does seem to be working. I'm in the early stages but it appears that growth rates have increased. I plan to continue with this schedule for the foreseeable future, unless I notice an unpleasant or detrimental affect. I will follow-up on this in my future post.
Thanks for reading!
P.S. I wanted to post a update about the trileaf plant. It is definitely improving and I believe it will recover entirely and be moved back to general pop in the near future. This is a huge relief to me cause I had worried that I killed it some how. Since it is a trileaf plant I felt even more regret and shame. Thankfully I can let all that go now.
This week went pretty smooth. Finished flushing the plants due to a nitrogen issue and feed for the first time in over a week. They definitely seemed to enjoy the extra nutrients. The trileaf is looking amazing compared to how she was two weeks ago. I believe she'll make a full recovery. Once she's healthy I'll do some trimming and get her ready to start bloom. Don't think I'll top her like the others though. Maybe I should try plant training with her once she's got her strength back. All in all I've learned a lot in the past couple of weeks and I'm a better grower for it. Problems, as much as I hate them, are great training/learning opportunities. My recent ones taught me a lot. And thankfully I did it without loosing any plants. Aside from the added stress, I'd say it wasn't too bad of a lesson to learn. The main takeaway though is watch your nutrients and only give HALF (if even that) of the recommended dose.
Anyway, things are back in order and everyone is happy, including me. So thanks for reading and come back next week! Stay stoned!
Plants are coming along very nicely. This is the last week of veg for most of them. The smaller one I might keep in veg for another week with my other younger plant.
