Sorry to have started this so late. Wish I'd done every week. Can't wait for the next grow.
This is almost my first grow and I made a whole load of mistakes. The main thing that happened was that after 12 weeks of veg they outgrew their tent so I had to leave them in a dark room for 4 days until the bigger one arrived. Every leaf went yellow and look at them now! Needless to say I love them like my own children! Total survivors. The blueberry smells so much like blueberry hard candy it's crazy! And the Northern Lights is so white and frosty.
I know it's a bit late in the day, but if anyone's got advice on 1) making sure they don't get mould in their final 10 days. 2) Should I upgrade my P1000? 3) What strains should I go for next? I'm a philosophy lecturer and I like a nice creative high early evening, and a non-paranoid comatose high when I go to bed. 4) About EC. Er...confusing eh? So, if I feed with 1200 and it comes out 2000, I need to lower the feed until it comes out 1600? And if I feed at 1200 and it comes out at 1400 I can increase? Right? EC seems to be one of Google's achilles heels.
I have to say, this is the best hobby ever! I love it so much. I did one auto grow with Jack Herer and OG Kush both of which picked up a bit of mould, probably because they had to share a tent with the other ones and the humidity was 80% most of their lives. Have to say, OG Kush too strong, Jack Herer, absolutely amazing. I've never had a smoke that pulls me immediately into a good mood. Usually it just elevates whichever mood I'm in. Can't wait to do another grow of this that I don't pull two weeks early!
All the best and I think you're all brilliant.
Now that I've fallen in love with Jack Herer and realised it's probably the first sativa I've ever smoked (I was raised on moroccan hash and stuck to it ever since), which one shall I grow next? Jack Herer seems to inject me with a dose of happiness.
Super Silver Haze
Super Lemon Haze
Amnesia Haze
Bruce Banner
Train Wreck
Sour Diesel
They are my absolutely favourtestest Sativas - if you like Jacky you should get on with any of those!
One more question, which will really make you all roll your eyes...Where I am this isn't actually allowed. Is it a good idea for me to be actually doing this growdiaries stuff? Am I basically grassing myself up?

Yes it is to feed your plants from the top and know what's at the roots as well. For coco a ppm of 800, 1.6 ec is a good range for photo period plants. 600ppm 1.2 ec is good level for autos. If you check your runoff waters ph and ec level and their going way past that level, you know lockout is just around the corner so you run some plain water through to lower it back to acceptable levels. If EC is getting low you know to increase a little same with ph. Always stay in range for trouble free grows. Cheers
So much great info. I hope I can return the favour one day. QUESTION: I'm flushing for my last week. Great circulation. Temp 24-30. Humidity 50%. Is there much I can do now to optimise the yield? It's like waiting for a child to be born. A holy child. Who I'm gonna smoke, yo!
Did you use organic or synthetic nutrients?
If you used organic there is really no need to 'flush' as you would effectively have to flush away all organic matter and microbial life which is practically impossible - just stop adding nutrients and water normally (always pH) until the end.
If synthetic nutrients were used then you will need to basically try to cleanse your substrate and flush - water to say 10-20% runoff, wait 5 mins to allow the nutrients to get picked up by the water, water to runoff again - do this over the next few days until the ppm of your runoff is like...50ppm and then you are pretty much there.
To make dry sift should I dry my buds more than normal before I freeze them? Last time the yield was so low and I wanna find out how to improve it. Cheers!!!!
Hi Bro, I'm a dry-sift addict. The quantity of resin may vary from strain to strain, also the stickiness is an important factor (the more grainy, the higher the yield). Another factor is the choice of right mesh and how much this is in tension. IMO there's no need to overdry the stuff, more important is to vacuuming the bag before you freeze it (this will protect trim from humidity).
For my next grow I'm gonna do something very similar. I used Canna A+B, with about 8 feeds of PK and a little Cannazym. Does anyone know what else I could use to supplement the feeding, preferably from Canna? My main issue is the tightness of buds, but probs insufficient lighting
Hi I currently use canna a b and I include the canna boost canna pk 13/14 then I also combine advanced nutrients carb loader with bud candy. Then the final week I use advanced nutrients ripen. And for flush I use advanced nutrients flawless finish. Hope this helps

Loose buds really need more light to increase density, there are various boosters and what have you available but at the end of the day its watts that equals weight if your feeding is on point.
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
