alexsmurf I tossed a seed into a glass of water overnight. In the morning, it had already sunk. I soaked a cube of mineral wool with osmosis water and placed the seed in it. I put the cube in a mini greenhouse, where sharp peppers were germinating in peat tablets. That's where it sprouted and straightened out. Later, I transplanted it into a pot from a DWC setup and filled it with a substrate made of expanded glass. While waiting for proper light, the plants are living on manual watering, on a shelf, under a seedling lamp.

alexsmurf We're still living under the seedling lamp waiting for normal light. Twice a day, I water the pot with the foamed glass solution. The little cookie is slowing down in the development of the above-ground part, probably focusing on growing roots.

alexsmurf I continue to water the pot twice a day with the solution. There's a bowl with nutrient solution under the pot. Two roots have already popped out from the bottom of the pot and reached the nutrient solution.

alexsmurf I cut off the top. Finally, the light arrived and the whole garden moved into the tent. I made a new nutrient solution, started the compressor, and placed the pot in the DWC system. I added a fan for airflow inside the tent. Suddenly, the pH of the solution became 8.5. I made a new solution, without CaliMag. The fresh solution has a pH of 6.1 and EC of 1.1. Let's see what happens the next day. By the evening, the pH rose to 6.3.

alexsmurf What do I want to say? Once again, I realized that if you dive into the topic, you'll find it easy to create a nutrient solution from simple salts, mixed with micronutrients. I gave up on The Messiah. It was forming foam with a smell like washing machine water, the solution became cloudy, and the pH jumped to 8.5. The leaf stems started to take on a purple hue, indicating a phosphorus deficiency, or rather, issues with pH. It'll sit on the shelf as a reminder of wasted money and laziness. I have a basic chemistry education, refreshed some points in my memory, googled the specifics of agrochemistry, found feeding schemes, and a calculator for nutrient solution calculations. I bought chemical reagents and voilà - the solution is ready. Check out the feeding scheme in the photo. These are the weights of my fertilizers for 20 liters of solution. The bottom line shows the complete composition of macro- and micronutrients in the solution in ppm. I adjust the pH with phosphoric acid. For the same 20 liters, I use 1.1 g of the mineral additive AquaMix from Buyskiy fertilizers.

alexsmurf At the beginning of the week, I trimmed some leaves. By the end of the week, the growth rate became noticeable. The first trichomes.

alexsmurf The pot keeps cooking. I hope it stops before it reaches the light. Flowering is picking up speed. I'm mixing nutrients from garden mineral fertilizers and a blend of micronutrients.
