I got a number of seeds from an independent source. They are all Blue Dream strain and from the same mother plant.
For the germination I am using two of the seeds.
Seed 1 - Soaking in water for 15 hours then transferring to paper towel
Seed 2 - Directly to paper towel method. No pre soaking
Thought i would try these two methods as I have never tried them before. In the past I have always gone direct to soil. Curious to see if they have a better result for me.
I used distilled water at room temperature. At time of soaking/towel it is 24 C/75 F degrees. Wish me luck with the grow.
On the 15/10/21 (2 days after starting germination process) both of the seeds had opened and the taproot was showing. I note that there didn't seem to be a difference between the seed that soaked and the seed that went directly into the paper towel. The seeds were planted into jiffy pellets.
On the 17/10/21 both seeds had sprouted, both had the seed case and inner seed membrane stuck to the cotyledons. I manually removed them with water and a skewer. Additionally, I noted that the taproot on one of the plants had gone through the base of the jiffy pellet so I transplanted into a cut up water bottle measuring 10cm/4inch tall. I used soil from more jiffy pellets to make the substrate to try and prevent transplant shock.
I have both plants under fluorescent lights. I will keep them under there for the first 2-3 weeks on an 18/6 light cycle. The lights I am using are the Osram L 36W/865 bulbs. They are 39 Watts, have a color temperature of 3600K, color rendering index Ra >80 and 3150 lumens. T8 bulbs (i am using 2 of them) approximately 20cm/8inch from the plant.
