New week! Looks like we have two rainbows... wonder how sticky they will be!😜 One of them really took off... she's about 2 inches by weeks end. Even though we have a late starter, she seems good to grow... Big sister is getting about 60 ml of water by mid week... Only giving 30ml to the runt.... I'm keeping the light on 24hrs... I'll give them a 20/4 hr schedule in a couple of weeks. The humidity is between 65% and 70%... Great growth week!💪 The Zkittlez Glue is growing fast!!! I decided to transplant both even though ZG#1 is really small. The roots are looking great on ZG#2... but not enough on the runt to even take pics...😅 The new homes are about 1.25 gallons. Once the Zkittles fill this size up, then their final homes will be 5 gallon. I gave them about 250ml of water mid-week, and another 250ml three days later. As you can see, they are really growing great. ZG#2 is about 6 inches, not so tall for ZG#1. Both are very tight on the node structure... I guess the next week will tell what kind of training we will do.👍 Thanks for stopping! Another Week! The week started off kind of shitty... noticed I got the bugs... THRIPS! 😣 Not sure how they got into one grow room and not the other, but I am happy they didn't! I have some Spinosad and Neem Oil on hand, so a good mixture and a couple of sprays and they should be gone... the leaf damage will still be there but they won't get any worse. Spinosad: Organic solution that uses beneficial bacteria to treat the pests -Mix 10ml spinosad to 500ml of water -Added 1ml of neem oil -Spray under/over leaves with lights/fan off -Mixture only good for 24hrs -Sprayed 3 times By mid-week, I didn't see any more thrip damage then what was already there.😀 Lets hope I got the little bastards! I decided since the girls were growing decently, that I would top them and get them ready for main-lining. ZG#1 is growing a lot slower then her sister, but sometimes topping can kick start the growing of the nodes that we keep. Let's find out!😅 ZG#2 is growing fast and furious... she got topped, and a couple of days later I cleaned her up and tied her down... let's grow! Gave 250ml of water to each of the girls twice this week. They didn't seem overly thirsty... but that could be from the extra stress. Temp stayed around the 25C mark. Humidity Between 65-70%. Height before topping 7 inches ZG#2, after... 4 inch. Let's hope next week starts off better then his one... 😃 Have a great one! Growth week!💪 The girls are growing nicely this week. A couple of days to recover from the lollipopping and training, and they are ready to be topped again. I'm not sure at this point if I will be doing a mainline on these girls, or just stick with two main arms and get some really good satellite arms coming off of them... I'll decide by week I hope...😂 I believe I got most of the thrips... doesn't seem to be any new damage on the new growth but to make sure, I'm going to give them another spray at the start of next week. Both girls drank twice this week... 250ml each time! 👌 Still using tap water with a pH of 7... and still counting on the soil to regulate the pH! Humidity is still around the 65% range... The girls are back up at 7 inches in height... Bonus Pic: Zkittlez Glue is really nice for cloning... that is six days in!😍 Usually with my homemade cloner, it takes 7-10 days before I start seeing roots. 🤔 I decided to give something a try... I transplanted both girls from 2 gallon pots to 5 gallon fabric pots... and then put them in 24 hour darkness the first night... it helps with the 12/12 switch... IMO! So, instead of the first week being pre-flower stretch... it was more like pre-flower recovery. I know this will probably stunt their growth, but I figured I'll give it a try in the name of science! 😂 Both girls roots were pretty decent looking... a little whiter would have been nice, but quite happy overall. I didn't bother doing any more mainlining. Just tied them down, and exposed some of the small nodes to the light. In the end, should be two really nice size colas and a bunch of smaller tight nugs!😜 In the 5 gallon fabric pots, I'm still using just kryptonite and water. That should be enough nutrients for the 2-3 month grow! The girls drank 2 litres each for the week, but I have a feeling next week should be a water-fest!!! Temp is good at 23C and the humidity is around the 50% mark. Still using the UF-2000 light for flowering... it's around the 250w hps replacement. Lets hope I didn't shock them to much and they start to take off... Week 2 👈 Zkittlez Glue seems to be growing nicely. They never had much of a pre-flower stretch the first week due to transplant/recovery... this week, they stretched a good 3 inches!😀 Mid-week, I noticed some new asshole damage🐛 (at least I think it's new) on the leaves... Since they are still in early flower, I gave them a spray with insecticidal soap/dawn dish soap mix. I sprayed them with the lights off and I made sure I got everywhere. If they come back, I'll just burn the whole room down!😂 ZG didn't drink too much water this week. 3 litres each for the entire week... but if they don't want to drink... they don't have too...👈 Temps were a little sketchy this week... the highs were fine @23C, but the lows @15C is unacceptable right now. We had a -25C windchill out and I forgot to keep the heat up in the outer room... aka... Garage. It took some time to get the heat back to reasonable temps, and I don't think the girls were bothered by the lower temps. Now the room sits at 19C at night.😁 Humidity hovers around 47%, so finally that's good. Week 3 ✋ Happy New Year! The Zkittlez Glue finished the year off slow and steady. They grew about 3 inches, which I really wasn't expecting since the slow start.👍 The two main arms on each of the girls are showing nice little white hats, and the rest of the side arms (satellite arms) are also showing. I lowered the light down to 16 inches so they can get the most from it. I always stick my hand right about the top of the plant to see how hot my hand gets... 👉if it's to hot for me, it's definitely to hot for them.👈 Both girls only drank 4 Litres each all week. I was hoping to see more of an increase in water uptake, but now since the buds are starting, they should get a lot more thirsty. The heat and humidity are still kind of wacky this week... went from a -25C windchill one week to +5C the next week...😲 messed up shit! I am doing better on not forgetting to turn the heat up in the garage... only forgot twice this week.😅 I think the thrips might still be around... notice a few new spots on new growth... problem now is to get rid of them without hurting the bud... I removed a couple of the older damage leaves, and very carefully sprayed underneath the rest of the leaves... next step is FIRE!!!🔥😠 I definitely like this little light, but I really don't think it's the best for flowering... at least in my setup.... maybe a 2x2 room, and hydro setup where they can be forced fed nutrients. It certainly works great for seedlings and clones (had a few clones underneath it a couple of weeks ago).😁 Anyways, on to next week! Week 4! The girls grew another 3 inches.... 😀👍 and a bunch of white puffy hats! Zkittlez Glues are showing a hint of purple already... least I think I can see a bit in the pictures...😲 They were liking the light at 16 inch so I drop the light down to 12 inches... I placed my hand underneath the light just above the buds and didn't feel any heat... so let the sun tanning begin! 😝 There is a fan blowing across the tops as well... helps keeps the bud cool and strengthens the arms.💪 Both the Zkittlez drank 4 litres of water this week... same as last week. Guess that's all they want! Finally have the heat stable... staying around 23 C in the day and 19 C at night. Humidity was also somewhat stable at 47% or so... hope to drop that soon... get it in the 30's and off to the races we go! 😁 I didn't have any new signs of thrips, so I didn't have to burn the room down... I like my room.😳 Spayed them twice this week.... I was really careful not to spray on the buds. Hope that's the last of them. Week of the 5! 😳 Now we're getting into the nitty gritty... Five weeks in, and the girls are looking fine!😀 You can certainly tell the difference in phenotypes... ZG#1 is a couple of inches taller then her sister and ZG#1 has more of an even canopy... They both have some purple shining through. ZG#1 has her purple at the end of her tips... and ZG#2 has purple throughout her hat, not just the tips.👈 They are both struggling a bit with size. Their stalks aren't thick, but they are strong from having a fan on them since they were seedlings. ZG's do have plenty of time to fatten up though... they're only half way through. Water: Both girls are still on the same track... 4 Litres each this week. Heat: Staying great at the 22C - 23C zone. Week 6! 😎 How do you count your weeks??? I know some don't count the first week of flip, but I do.😀 In the past, some strains were bang on when including flip week... and some strains went an extra week or two. Either way, in the end... I'm still vaping one bowl at a time!😂 Both girls are doing great, except I found a couple of leaves showing issues on ZG#2... I'm thinking either pH flux or maybe the solution for getting rid of the aphids... going to watch closely to see if any more leaves are affected. Since the girls are at week six, I like to do one more defoliation before leaving them alone until harvest. I basically removed any top leaf that was covering the under buds and cleaned up in the middle where the light don't shine. It certainly a little trickier since the girls aren't very big to start with. Temps: Staying around the 24C in the day and 20C at night. Probably will start cooling off the nights so they will thinks it's time to fatten up!😁 Humidity: Lows @ 35% and Highs @ 47% Water: Still only 4 Litres each per week. Thanks for reading! Week 7! Time is counting down for Zkittlez Glue... the girls only have a week or two left before the big day!😁 Even though they are not large in size, their buds are starting to tightening up. ZG#1 is certainly doing a lot better then her sister... a little taller, a little thicker, and less damage from the aphids. I have a feeling that both ladies are going to smell and taste wonderful!!!👌 ZG#2 is still struggling a bit... a couple of more leaves started showing damage. I've checked for bugs again, and both girls are clean. I do see some gnats around, mostly on the yellow wall of hell...😳😂 That's one of the problems when growing organic... if you have root issues, it's really hard to just flush out the soil since you would lose a lot of Nutrients.👈 It's not to often I have problems due to the soil, so what I usually do is give them a really good dry out period... no water for 3-5 days, that way the soil isn't moist for those little bastards!😅 Temps: Right on the mark... 24C Day and 18C Night! Humidity: More stable now around the 37% mark. Water: Both girls weren't that thirsty this week... 3 Litres each. Sometimes from a defoliation, the girls will drink less while they recover. Most of the pics are from ZG#1... she has the better looking buds right now!😍 I'll probably have some trichome pics next week since I'll be checking them! Week of the 8th!👊 Zkittlez Glue flowering time is 53/60 days. We're right on track at day 56... The trichomes are starting to show some amber, with a bunch of cloudy. There are still some clear going on, so I'll give them another week. On day 55, I had to move them into the other room under the big light... I wanted to grow from seed to harvest under the UF2000, but unfortunately I needed that grow room. I believe that the girls will be ready in a couple of days, so I'm going to count it as a seed-to-harvest grow under UF2000!😜 The girls each drank 3 litres of water this week. Their small buds did tighten up quite a bit. Between the two girls, ZG#2 has more frost, but ZG#1 definitely has the size. Temps: Stayed around the 24-25C mark in the day and 19-20C in the night. When the lights go out, there is about an hour before the heat in the garage gets up to temps, so the grow room sometimes drops as low as 16C. It's great for finishing up!👈 Humidity: It stayed around the 35%, which is also great for finishing up.😀 Hoping to have less blurry pics of the trichomes next week... and also hoping it's harvest time!!! Harvest Week! 💪😍 ZkittleZ Glue finished up like a champ! They went a little longer then the package date, but that is really just a guide.😁 The extra week certainly helped with tightening up their small buds. They weighed in at 189g's wet... with no leaves, and some stalk. I like to trim wet instead of dry... I find they dry/taste better with less leaves being attached. They didn't have really any size to them... and that's from a couple of different things... 1st- transplanted them a touch early... 2nd- training should have been Lst instead of Hst since I flipped them so soon, they had no time for recovery... 3rd- then there were bugs.... 4th- pots could have been smaller to match the light... 5th- and finally... I only have a blue thumb...😵 Zkittle Glue has a fruity/flower smell to it... with a touch of sourness... haven't tasted it yet, but can't wait to.... TASTE THE RAINBOW!😍 Drying Conditions: Dark Room Temp: 18C +/-1C Humidity: Averaging around 50% Fan on low I will be back to update when we have dryness!!!
