PanaJack Very happy to have obtained Dr. Grinspoon seeds from Barney's Farm. I dropped one seed in 1-inch rockwool cube with tap water (~250ppm). It took 4 days to come up above the rockwool.

PanaJack Nothing particularly exciting over the last week. She has stretched out a bit. In the next week she'll pack on a few more leaves and begin showing a bit more vigorous growth. This is the first time I have used tap water in about 10 years. With distilled water, I would normally have about a 350ppm going, at this stage. My tap water is already about 250, so I'm actually giving it about 550 -600 at the moment. Sometime this week, when she begins drying up the 1" rockwool cube within 12 hours or so, I'll mount her on a 4-inch cube. Everything normal. 👍

PanaJack So, I'm just doing one picture day a week right now, as there isn't much exciting to see. The rockwool cube has mounted on a 4" block. As you can see, the leaves are twisted and have a few spots. This is some kind of environmental problem, obviously. When I see stuff like this, I can't identify it exactly but it is often related to too much water. However, is could be something else. What is important for me is that it is stopping as the newer leaves grow out. The damage to the first leaves is done and will not repair itself. I don't mind much because those leaves would normally be removed in a few weeks anyway. Overall, the plant is quite healthy. It isn't a robust/vigorous grower at the moment. It's a slight plant that is about 6" tall now. Now that it is in the 4" cube, it will begin to spread itself out.

PanaJack So, this week Dr. Grinspoon showed a couple of things. Most importantly, this plant appears to be pretty sensitive to water. It barely drinks anything for a plant this far along (in comparison with Skunk #1, White Widow, Northern Lights, etc). I'm pretty sure all of the leaf 'ugly' is caused, ultimately, by too much water (ie, not a nutrient deficiency/toxicity, and definitely not pH). Could even be bacterial leaf spotting (from too much water). Normally, I would expect to be putting a plant near this age and size into a larger slab already and be ready to got to 12/12. That would be a mistake here. The roots really don't have that jagged/aggressive growth that I've usually see in 'hybrids'. I keep the rockwool very judiciously watered by hand still. Anyhow, it is 13 inches tall and has almost outgrown all of the ugly. It's an otherwise healthy plant. I can't believe the creeping pace of development. I expected as much in flower, but not so much in veg. One of the pics shows a Neville's Haze in the foreground for comparison. Both were germed on the same day and sprouted at roughly the same time....and both are really taking their sweet time.

PanaJack This week the Dr. Grinspoon has grown well. I put her to flower a few days ago. Tonight I mounted the 4" block onto the uni-slab. Other than that, everything normal. She's grown 9" in last 7 days.

PanaJack This plant is doing great. It is in Week 2 of flowering. Despite what I consider a rough start she is growing vertically and horizontally, and is producing lush healthy vegetation. The nutrients are at 1150 - 1250 ppm. The stalk smells heavily. Still have a ways to go.

PanaJack Well, there isn't much to report. The Dr. Grinspoon is doing just fine. It's grown quite a bit in the last week; 53 inches, up from 37 (16 inches in 7 days). Other than that, it's a healthy happy sativa. There likely won't be much to report until the buds start coming in. 3 weeks ago I was moaning about water sensitivity problems....today the plant won't stop growing. Enjoy the pic! 👍

PanaJack So, this plant just doesn't stop growing. It's 73 inches today...that is exactly a 20" stretch in 7 days. Pretty wild! It's outgrown my limit, so I will have to resort to tying her down. Really llanky! Other than that, she's quite healthy. The buds are developing, but nothing to unusual. (Sorry for the crappy images. I'm taking pictures in the flower room through a pair of blue sunglasses to get rid of the yellow and reduce the exposure.)

PanaJack So, I'm not measuring height anymore. She's become somewhat unmanageable, and I have had to move her and tie her down. The flowers are quite 'sativa looking'...
