Yes, I recommend taking a small sample but only at harvest time. It's a waste of time and bud if take before the plant is ripe. Taking samples when first harvested, after drying and each week during curing will teach you how the flavor and aroma changes over time. This will let you figure out how long you want to dry and cure your plants in the future. I notice dramatic change in the beginning but after the second week of curing the change slows. It gets better with time but with diminishing returns. Taking samples taught me that my "happy place" for curing smoking weed is three weeks. A good balance between flavor and time spent curing. Your taste may differ. When I first started I thought two weeks was a good cure. Now two weeks is OK for stuff I'm going to make into edibles but for good smoking I want 3 weeks or more but I don't have the patience to cure for several months like some people do. But, if you've ever had some good, long cured weed it is some smooth shit.

You can of course cut off the inflorescence and taste it. However, you need to understand that this will stress your plant, and it may slow down growth for a short time. Also, the taste of an unwashed plant will be worse. And judging by the photo, there is not much left before the harvest. To be honest, I usually put two plants so that one can be tasted and the other left untouched 😃

Not Worth it, you need to wait until its dry and the plant isn't ready yet, so its not going to be the final taste, better wait until everything is ready, sometimes the waiting is horrible hahaha specially when they are almost ready, but stay patient
