m0useanswered grow question 3 years ago Hey, topping an auto is common but it is a bit of a hot topic to some who grow a lot of autos.
I have topped my autos and only noticed an increase anytime I do it vs not doing anything.
The first time I did it was an accident and about 4 nodes came off, I thought the plant would have went into shock and just quit, but it came though.
I do like to do this on healthy plants only and will combine it with some LST like you are doing in your other pics.
The main thing with autos is not to transplant them and start them in their forever home/pot.
They get real aggravated with this and tend to enter early flower. but you got that part down pat.
A few notes on feeding autos:
They do not like strong feeds and this can set them back or cause shock.
Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil base is also HOT, or to many nutrients in it already. Its good you mixed it with some other stuff
If you are watering till runoff monitor your EC and PH to confirm when you do feed them its not to much.
Use this weblink for a baseline of how many PPM/EC you should aim for.
