The plant on the second picture has some yellow edged leaves. Anybody an idea what that can be?

Hello @Peak81 ! From the fourth photo at week 14 i can spot several deficiencies. I can see potassium, nitrogen and zinc. Because of luck of information i will assume that you use a basic soil and you give no nutrients. So that's the number 1 reason that makes me think that you have deficiencies because the nutrients are not inside your soil. The number 2 reason is that if you don't give any liquid nutrients especially synthetic you can't mess with ph, salt build up and stuff like that. The number 3 reason is that if it was a ph problem you shouldn't have signs of nitrogen, potassium and zinc deficiency together. Nitrogen and potassium locks at low PH but zinc becomes more available. So if your PH was high you should have zinc deficiency and not nitrogen and potassium and if it was low you should have nitrogen and potassium deficiency and not zinc. Also zinc is number one micro nutrient deficiency for home made soils and i just saw at the comments below that you made your own soil. You should has put some amendments in it. Soil with just compost can't raise properly a cannabis plant. It will grow but it will not give its best. So my recommendation is to start using nutrients in order to fix it fast. If you don't want to use bottle nutrients ( i think you should use them until the problem is fixed ) you can make compost teas with guano, kelp meal, potassium sulfate (all organic) and other immediate absorption stuff. For the long term top dress your soil with amendments and cover them with some quality compost in order to be broken down by microbes and be available for your plant. Next time put some amendments from the beginning... Happy growing ๐Ÿ‘Š

Week 23. The first picture. Why do some leaves turn purple? Not that i can do much about it any more because they get butchered soon :) Just curious.

Hi it's possible that theyturn purple because plants got 3 different color pigments on their leaves red, green and blue, most time in autumn they turn orange oder red and some plants turn blue or purple, So it can also be a natural reason Nice grow ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘

Hello @Peak81 ! The purple leaves is molybdenum deficiency and it is triggered by low temperatures. Happy growing ! ๐Ÿ‘Š

Hi @Peak81! Genetics, cold temperatures, cold solution/medium, or a Phosphorous deficiency can lead to purple stems. In your scenario, it's certainly temp-related. Is your daytime temperature 10ยฐC? What about the night temp? That's under the safe zone, 15ยฐc is the ultimate threshold where you won't encounter issues. Hopefully the sun is going to fix this next week. Keep us up-to-date and happy growing ๐Ÿ‘Š

Hi, thx for your answer. We had some nights with 1ยฐC. So that's the reason. Only maybe 20% show these symptoms. The next week should not get under 7ยฐC at night. So it hopefully doesn't get worse. Should not be a reason to harvest early is it?

Sorry for the late answer. It is outdoor. So they get the ph from the rain. Here and then i water them with collected rain water. From now on i will give her ph 6 when i water her which is our tap water. Will keep you updated

Great plant! If it is root rot, maybe increase salinity by adding some salts (mgK+Ca) within a reduced nutrient tonic. The salts help dry up the soil some to slow the rot, K helps to better manage water throughout the plant with help of cal, or more oxygenation...?Unless the sun is not co operating with your soil mix. Sometimes defs in mn can cause similar problems... The main stem looked great, it had enough iron, that is absorbed best at a pH of 6-6.5 but usually not over 7 alower pH is usually cleaner i dont think pH is whats causing it, although the grasshopper spots could be a Cal def that is from a lower pH and sometimes defs in P cause similar symptoms which may be best to add those once it blooms ? -"The only reason it is rotting is because of H20" - random hydroponic grower Best of luck !๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‘พ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ

@Peak81, Yea water wuld help for sure, without overwatering because its used to much less water now. With a plant tht big in a pot that size it probably used up all the organic nutes it may be worthwhile to defoliarize with a trim and amend the soil for flower...?
Peak81
Peak81
@Kent_Sage, roots can get "dry rot"? Damn.... didn't know that. So if it is dry rot. Would it be enough to add more water and it will go away?
Kent_Sage
Kent_Sage
@Peak81, lol its always the simple things. I did almost have dry rot once because it rained a lot and I assumed it was being watered but the canopy was so thick the roots didnt receive much water, dry ..

Burnt leaf tips typically indicate nutrient burn. I'd recommend backing off on your nutrients with that girl. Maybe go down to 1/2 or 3/4 of the recommended strength. The damaged leaves will not get any better, but should not get any worse and you should stop seeing any new leaves affected. Good luck! ๐Ÿ‘

@Peak81, the spots on the leaves are from grasshoppers you are right. grasshoppers only like dry leaves. watering/ spraying water on the leaves make them go awy. but pay attention with the sun

@Peak81, In that case I would recommend giving her a good flush-style watering. Look for lots of run off. That should help leech out any abundance of nutrients built up in your soil. Alternatively, you could leave her as is. She may not get any worse from here. In that case all is good.

@DudeGrowsWeed, I don't give any nutrients. My soil mix: 50% "Composana Universal" from Garden store 40% older compost from mostly lawn cuttings 10% Perlite Maybe i didn't mix it well enough? I thought i did.

As long as it is not raining for days or the days are foggy they can stay outside, but look every day after them. The only enemy of flowering hemp is humidity... aslong as it is cold and clear everything is fine.. but 10 degrees is very low their growth is around zero... think about harvesting if it stays cold, or get humid or rainy.. moldering is very fast. if you see first mold cut them down very fast

Hi @Peak81! My guess is that you're having a salts buildup in your soil. This might be due to : 1) wrong pH range, if you did not check the pH of your waterings or applied a wrong pH range. 2) Too much nutrients in your soil mix / compost. In this situation I would remove the most affected leaves, flush the soil for at least 10 days with only pH'd water (6.0~6.2) and see how the plant reacts. If you think your waterings pH and EC levels were correct for the last weeks, then you should investigate on roots related problems, such as root rot, your custom soil mix might rotten around the roots. Keep us up-to-date, I'm curious to see how this goes. Happy growing ๐Ÿ‘Š

@Stick, I think you are right. Looks more and more to root rot to me. Unfortunately there is not much i can do :( But i have too many plants anyway. So i can afford to loose one or two ;)

because theit flower are very dense check tomorrow how humid are the buds, if they appear humid i would cut her down ,in my country ( northern europe) i have only every 4-5 years an outdoor that i can harvest when its done most time i have to harvest 3-4 week before. this year too, weather was unstable and i cant harvest very fast , because its a lot of plant. to i decided to harvest yesterday... for 2 plants it was ok but one should have been standing 3 more weeks. but i cut her. Its better to have less than nothing. moldering is very fast and a lot of the weed is moldering while curng if it started to molder before cutting
