Starting with two seeds that I found in a very compact CBD strain and Velvet Moon from Green House Seeds Company.
After they sprouted I put a container upside down to create a dome for creating an high humidity enviroment.
At the start of the week I transplanted them in bigger pots as you can see in the photos.
The 12th day I topped the CBD varieties and the 13th day I topped Velvet Moon.
The 14th day one of the CBD plants showed nitrogen deficiency and the Velvet Moon is 7,5 cm tall.
Sadly had to cut down the CBD variety because it was and hermaphrodite.
I watered using tap water and using small amounts of nutrients because the water that went out of the pots had 1500+ ppm, so I decided to lower the amounts of nutrients in order to lower the ppms.
This week I put a Trellis net and I defoliated the bottom leaves that were yellowing.
This week I did a big defoliation to improve light penetration and air flow. I also removed the least big flowering sites at the bottom of the plant.
In this week I could see daily the flowers getting bigger. They had already a strong citrus smell of orange.
The only thing I was worried this week were the burnt leaves tips, but it seemed that the plant could endure this stress.
5th WEEK OF FLOWERING
Sadly the last week I didn't take photos or videos of the plants or flowers, but I checked for the state of trichomes. They seemed about 50% milky!
The flowers are starting to get really frosty! The same potent orange smell is coming off the flowers.
6TH WEEK OF FLOWERING
The pistils suddenly in a few days changed color to orange.
I increased the height of the lamps because the flower leaves were curved upwards.
Some of the sugar leaves started turning deep purple.
This week the humidity levels were all over the place. Some days humidity was 30% and the day after 66%. I tried just to lower it when it was above 50%.
I continued feeding them heavily using tap water, Bio-Bloom and a 14% N mix containing trace elements.
I lowered the temperature to min: 18°C and max: 20°C.
8TH WEEK OF FLOWERING
The 7th week I didn't take any photos, but I started the flush using rainwater with pH=6.5.
This week photos were taken the day before the harvest. The trichomes were about 95% milky and 5% amber which I think it's a sweetspot.
The smell changed a lot from the 6th week of flowering: now the citrus is subtle and it has a coffee and flower smell.
The flowers were absolutely covered in shiny diamonds and stunning!
I loved this strain so much!
I wasn't expecting this at all. I thought it would be a boring strain, but it turned out to be awesome. The buds are tight and firm and covered in big trichomes. Even the nuggets buds are covered in trichomes and are beautiful. Sadly I took photos only of the worst looking bud 😅
The smoking session is smooth, without any cough (I cured them for 1 month) and a little of dry mouth that can be washed down with a glass of cool water.
The smell is similar to coffee ☕ and lavander 🌺 with a hint of citrus 🍊. The after taste is of a "smooth" lavander.
The effects are long lasting. It makes you smile at the beginning, but after 5 minutes there's a total relaxation.
The only downside I could see for this strain is the fact that in vegetation stage it grows slower compared to other strains, but the flowering is fast. GreenHouse Seeds Company said it would take 8-9 weeks for the flowering and my run was 6 days faster. I harvested at the beginning of week 8, but it needed more days to finish off so I think that the recommendations of GHSC are perfect.
The total dry harvest was 56g which I think it's very good.
@BudBoutique
Thank you very much!
I use a Canon EOS 600D with Canon 55-250mm lens. As the light I used the grow light 😂 then I edited in post the colors so they matched with the real thing.
Soon I will post another grow, so stay tuned 😉
