First grow ever, excited to see how things work out. Running a 200w Black Dog LED, and hempy buckets in a small tent. Looking forward to seeing how a auto strain works in a hempy bucket in such a small space.
Started using nutes (GH FloraNova Grow) in a 200ppm concentration, feeding once a day. Getting a humidifier to help with my humidity levels and hopefully control the temp a bit but we'll see.
Hoping the roots hit the reservoir this week to see some more growth. Bumped up lights to 23" to help with possible heat issues.
My plant seems to be drooping pretty heavily, and growth has slowed down. Water is being PH'd to 6, but I'm not sure if I'm over or underwatering? I feel like I've tried both watering more and watering less but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the drooping.
That’s overwatering my friend! See how her leaves are dropping down and swolen looking. Its your judgment on how close the light is as we have no idea what light you are using... my solution would be to wait longer between feedings. Especially at this stage you need her to build a solid root mass. Don’t water until after you see her leaves Praying 🙏🏻 to the light. At this point she needs to search for water rather than have in abundance.
All of my issues were a very high PH in the reservoir. I have since flushed heavily to bring the reservoir pH down to 6 and will monitor it as time moves on. She's looking a bit better but definitely has become stunted because of the pH issues and some heat issues at the beginning. oh well! we'll see how she continues to grow as time moves on.
Watering every 3-5 days now. ramping up veg nutes so she'll hopefully get as big as possible before starting to flower. Looking much better, Gotta remember to lay off the watering! Reservoir filling only for now.
Explosive growth after the roots hit the bottom, not sure how tall she will get after the issues I had but they seem to be mostly solved now. Shes showing signs of flower so the next feeding will be 75/25 grow/flower nutes to hopefully give her the nutrients required for large buds!
Into flower now! More growth and filling out. she's looking much healthier than she was at the start. Drinking a gallon of water every three days now, hempy bucket working as it should. slowly switching over to flower nutes, next feeding will be 2/3 flower and the one after that will be full flower.
EDIT: Halfway through the week the plant showed signs of Nitrogen toxicity (apparently also from using veg nutes in flower) so we have switched to full bloom instead of 2/3.
EDIT 2: Used full bloom nutes @800ppm, signs of nitro toxicity gone!
Absolutely blowing up, lots of bud sites, all side branches are growing up to the height of the main cola and seem to be bushing out nicely. No idea how much she'll yeild because of the rocky start but I'll be happy with anything!
UPDATE: Tied main cola down to even canopy, did a bit of defoliation of the underneath to remove un-necessary leaves. From now on will only defoliate if fan leaves are getting in the way of buds and cannot be tucked.
Unfortunately I have found signs of nute burn. I defoliated the bottom and that may have caused the plant to need less nutes? Also my PH has been running a bit low so from now on I'll pH to 6 and see how the runoff is. Buds are looking great though!
