First time growing this strain but it was a free bee from Seedsman. You'll notice another plant being grown about 4 weeks ahead (Sour Crack Auto - separate grow diary). I was watching the open grow space and decided to go ahead and start another plant. I'm doing LST with the Sour Crack but thought I'd just grow this one au natural and see how it goes. I'm going to do another Sour Crack grow without LST to do a direct comparison between strains but this will be a good visual difference. That and who doesn't want Froot by the Foot?

Feb 7 - OK! So a bit of a rocky start. I had a long weekend and she didn't get quite enough light, as evident by the stretching. A root was coming out of the bottom of the peat pellet so it was time to do the first of three transplants. This nursery bag should last at least a week. Hopefully, now that she's getting more light the stretch will stop and we'll see those first set of leaves develop nicely. Feb 9 - Side by side, a bit slower than the Sour Crack was at this same time. We'll see if it's species or the initial stretch.

That stretch/fall right after germination may have set this girl a day or two behind - my fault. I'll just have to get the plant to good nute levels (read: aggressive). Ok - Had a few roots on the bottom of the nursery bag. Transplanted to the final 3 gallon home. Prepped the coco at the same nutrient level I was at so the shock should be minimal. Day 13 - Starting to see better stem development. Had me worried. Added a separate reservoir feed system so that the two plants could consume the right nutrient levels for their growth stage. And because there was no way I was going to start feeding them five times a day manually. Added/tested the drip collar and ready to roll.

Day 15. Going to test a scrog net on this strain. Curious to see if it gets big enough for it to matter before it's time to harvest. Not much to do this week besides taking some pictures and maxing out the nutrients. Day 17. Ok - that lean in her stem is gone. Growing great. Day 19. Still going. Put more fan on the coco so it dries out a bit more between fertigations. Not a ton but I don't want mites.

Day 21 - My other grow is a Sour Crack auto where all I've done for training is early LST. The number of great tops is pretty impressive (even if I don't like the look of it). For this one, I want to see if topping does indeed stunt the growth compared to say a normal(ish) auto. Should be interesting to see how quickly it bounces back. Froot by the Foot isn't supposed to be a long grower (~70 days) so it doesn't work I'll try it on a longer grow auto as a test. Day 24 - OK, as you can see the leaves are drooping like crazy. This is a fertigation method so it's not overwatering. I checked the PH of the nutrient solution and somehow it was up at 6.8. Did a flush with Flora Kleen in it and then mixed up a new nute mix. Hopefully, those leaves start to pick up tomorrow. Day 26 - Leaf drooping is over. I adjusted the lights a bit (lowered them) and fixed the nutrient level PH. She's kicking now. Time to do a little LST so we can keep it small (unlike the other plant!) I just have to remember to check them. Day 27 - Tied down a couple more. Waiting for the middle tops to get a bit longer and I'll tie them down next. Trying the keep the plant as low as I can without super-aggressive training. Day 30 - Keeping her tied down. Trying to stay below the 8-inch mark if possible until she really starts stretching. Day 32 - OK - 3D printed some LST clips. Make my life a bit easier. Staying at the 8-inch mark. Going to turn her loose in week 5.

Day 36 - I will be removing all the LST clips tomorrow. Interested to see how much she continues to stretch with a 40/60 Indica/Sativa mix. A nice spread of tops ready to grow.

Day 40 - Growing very well. I had some PH fluctuations that I got under control but she went into a wilt cycle before I did. Interested to see how tall she gets now that I've released the Kraken (removed the LST clips/strings). I have a ScrOG in the tent and will definitely be using it to spread out this feisty bush of a plant.

March 22 - Day 46 - OK, reset the tent for a single plant. I think this strain will get huge based on its size now, even though I did some pretty major LST early on. The droop is from a PH lockout that I just flushed for. March 23 - Day 47 - Flush worked, and now you can start to see the tops coming up. I did some minor trimming of the bottom third. Keeping as much as possible while still being able to maintain the RH. (wow! OK, I went to a wedding and came back to work being crazy... 20+ days of not updating)

March 27 - Day 51 - Growing very well - even more than I thought. Did a bit more LST to make sure she didn't hit the lights. Having major PH fluctuations, and I don't know why. Causing lockout a bit and I have to do more flushes than I've ever done. April 1 - Day 56 - Found the PH culprit. The pump I'm using is new because of the dual growth. It has a sponge-like filter material that has started growing something that infected the water tubes themselves. Took it all apart, cleaned it, and restarted. Let' see how next week goes.
