I have never been successfully with seeds. I have tried rock wool, rapid rooters, paper towel, etc and none of them worked for me.
This time, I started 3 seeds in an aerogarden (on 3/2) using only ph'd tap water. The first popped in about 18 hours, the second at 30 hours, and the third was a dud.
Both sprouts are thriving, but I took the better looking one and transplanted it into my dwc net pot (3/8) once the tap root was about 8" long using 1/4 strength nutes. I kept the other sprout going in the aerogarden for comparison, and just in case I kill the sprout during the transplant. I have been top watering twice a day
The transplanted sprout yellowed a bit for the first day or 2, the yellow leaves aren't recovering, but new growth is happening, so that is a good sign.
I only planted these because I thought my other plants were toast from root rot. They ended up pulling through so I only have a small, awkward shaped space to flower this plant. I am using a 1'x3' scrog net. It probably won't yield a huge amount, but I'm not going to throw them away lol
Good growth this week. She has bounced back from the transplant and seems to be doing quite well. No roots are showing outside the net pot yet. I have a slow top feed system running 24/7 in my hydroton, they should be poking through any day now. I am heading out of town for a week, excited to see how much it grows while I'm gone
Weird week this week. I went out of town for 5 days and two lowest leaves were almost completely brown and crispy. I also noticed that my PH is dropping day to day. I clipped the dead leaves and cleaned the res and filled with new nutes. We will see what happens.
I did notice that a couple roots are poking through the net pot. I think explosive veg growth is going to happen shortly.
Bummer of a week this week. I finally have roots coming out of the net pot, but not as many as what should be there. I think my growth is stunted.
I also have some nute burn going on. I am assuming that it is due to low humidity since my ppm was under 600. I dropped my ppm to 450 and added a humidifier. Hopefully they will bounce back and keep growing.
She is coming back! The low humidity was causing nute burn. I added a humidifier and kept the ppm at 450 and she perked back up in a hurry. Great root growth this week. I'm hoping she will be healthy enough to top next week
Great week this week. I think she is back on track, it was definitely a humidity issue. I topped them a couple days ago and increased the nutes to about 65% strength.
Nothing to crazy this week. Good growth overall. The bottom is filling in where I had to clip away unhealthy leaves. This is a pretty slow vegging strain. I may be vegging a few more weeks I think. It is still about 2" away from reaching the scrog.
Overall good growth. I switched out my lights for something stronger and combined this plant in the tent with my other flowering plants. I have heard this strain has quite the stretch so I flipped it to flower a little early. My scrog is only 1x3 so I don't want it crowding and blocking airflow too bad. The plant is looking pretty good and the roots are definitely consuming a noticable amount of water day to day.
The stretch is on! One more week or so until my screen is filled. The flowers should start to show any day now. These girls are growing great and I haven't had many issues since I fixed the low humidity problem.
It's been awhile since my last update. I was having major problems with another grow and neglected my updates on this one. I've got another week or 2 left most likely. The purple is just starting to come in now.
I had some spider mites a few weeks ago, but Dr zymes was able to take care of them for long enough until harvest. Some tall and fat colas are starting. Should get a decent yield considering the awkward 1x3 grow space. I took a monster crop clipping about a week ago that has rooted. My plan is to grow one of these in a 3x3 scrog for my next grow.
I flushed for about 7 days. Longer than I normally do, but the bud swell in week 9 was real. I harvested at week 10 with some fat sparkly colas. Super excited to try these. It looks like some nice purples are going to show through. I grew this on a 1x3 scrog and plan to grow a monster crop clone on a 3x3. The yield should be pretty nuts.
